Right in downtown Midland, TX stands the Wyndham Midland Downtown Hotel. Great location when booking conferences, business meet-ups, parties, events, and all things community. I recently stayed here for 5 days and the 4 nights. I booked a paint & sip in The Reserve Lounge, explored the hotel, amenities, and had some great peaceful rest in the gorgeous king sized bed in the spacious suite. We stayed one night and woke up with my two year old and husband covered in bug bites. My toddler had it the worst with bites on his face, arms, back, legs and private area. My husband had bites on his back and private, I had bites on my ear and shoulder. When we brought it to the lobby hosts attention she told me I had to seek resolution with Expedia. I offered her a chance to see my baby and see all of the bites and she declined. The housekeeper who came to our room did look at my child and all of the bites she also witnessed a bug moving on the bed. The lobby host said they are bugs in the bed but NOT bed bugs. I was also given a medical refusal form when the host never offered medical attention nor asked about my child’s health. Now a few hours later his face and arms have gotten worse. Another mention is we found long black hair in our bed. I have ginger hair and my toddler and husband have dark brown short hair. Just be aware if you have small children.

Comfy beds but what a sad situation in this oil rich town. Construction. One way streets. Entry to hotel THROUGH THE ALLEY??!!??? Seriously??? This is a first. (At my age it is nice for something to be a first!!!!). This hotel management needs some help. Not some - but ALOT!!! We booked this hotel through AAdvantage - got some Points but this hotel is WOEFULLY in need of help. Shiner longneck $5.00/each in bar. Direct TV NOT available in rooms (so sad could not see Texas Aggies take a victory over Mississippi State) but the game was on in the bar - which was hosting Tejano Night ($10.00 cover) which was not charged for walk in customers. But we could not stay there to watch the game due to the loud nature of the bar. If we return to Midland I would think twice before booking here. Price was right. But may have paid too much for a nights sleep.

Under new management now (I hear). I used to LOVE coming here. Upon arrival the young lady had a attitude and told me she couldn't help me I needed to see the manager next to her (she was with someone). But the person right after me, she spoke so harshly to the man I felt bad for him. The sad thing, the manager heard her and literally turned and looked at her because it was so harshly. When I was able to speak with the manager she stated that my room was not ready and to give her a moment someone was up there cleaning it. During this time I went down the street to the restaurant to spend some time. (Let me say, I got into town at 3:45). I spent nearly an hour at the restaurant thinking it was enough time. Got back to the front desk to be told that it was still not ready and that it would be 20 min but she would bring my key to another room (as I was visiting someone there for the event for the weekend). 20 minutes goes by and still nothing. I finally went back to the desk around 5:20 only to wait another 10 min before I could get a key.

Went down for breakfast the next morning (it was only one couple in there). They no longer do buffet so I take a look at the menu and drink coffee. Didn't find anything on the menu so I decided I will cover the charge for my coffee and go to a restaurant that I know of that will serve what I need. As I head to the counter the waitress almost ran me over heading that way herself only to walk away and I stood there for 20 min waiting for her to come back to ring me up. Not sure who is running that hotel now but customer service is not IT...

Stayed here many times under DoubleTree - was disappointed with this stay under new ownership. Had a suite for the weekend and had no hot water in our shower and very low water pressure. We repeatedly reported it with no resolve. 3 days of cold showers was unacceptable with no apology offered. They didn’t even offer to move us to a different suite. The response we got yesterday was “I’ve already had 3 calls this morning about people not having hot water, this is ridiculous.” Last night neither of my room keys worked for the room so we went back down to the front desk. My husband whose name wasn’t even on my reservation took the room key to the front desk to report it wasn’t working. Mind you, it had a note taped on the card with my room number. He was given a 2 updated cards to my room without his identity being asked. That’s a HUGE safety issue. What if someone had found my card and was then issued access to my room? We tried to speak to a manager at checkout this morning and was told there wasn’t one. The coffee bar was not open this morning either. Really hope they get it together or I’ll be finding somewhere else to stay on my future frequent visits. I’ll pay more money to at the very least get hot water...

Recently booked the room and the rooms were not at all as per the description mentioned in the website. AC not working properly making loud sound. Exhaust not working in Restrooms. Smelly beds No Microwave No Refrigerator No Towels And to add to this, requested for the refund and it got initiated but waiting for the amount since last 30 days. Whenever I call Booking.com they say they want a written confirmation from the property and the Manager should reply to the mail sent. When called the property to speak with the manager, never able to have a word with the manager. Daily getting the same reply from the person in Reception that the manager is not at the property or manager is busy with guests and never reverted to the call. Now also while updating the review still on hold for the manager since last 70 minutes unable to speak to the manager. Cant understand why the manager is taking such a long time to just reply to booking.com about the refund status. Its not the first time that I booked for Wyndham, all my stays are generally with Wyndham only and never faced this much of problem with any of the Wyndham...
