As someone who is well traveled and knows excellent cuisine, Cancun Bar and Grill is such a breath of fresh air. I appreciate the authenticity of the restaurant. They don't make TexMex full of fillers like cornmeal and potatoes. The chili rellenos are made with egg white and not cornmeal and the enchiladas are just like Mexico where it's all about the sauce NOT smothered in cheese. Oh and the drinks, wow! Mojitos have all fresh ingredients with a squeeze of fresh lime not premixed margarita mix and lime juice from a bottle like all the other places around here. Oh and the steaks, the steaks are the best around. Don't forget the corn polenta and roasted jalapeños in soy sauce, are you serious? I have dreams about eating that goodness! The owners introduce themselves to each guest and treat everyone like family. The staff are just more members of the family. By far our favorite place to eat, it's like going home once a week to see and eat with family. Thank you Cancun Grill for showing West Texas what good business looks like. We see you and...
Read moreFirst off, the service took some time to get started. No menu, no drink request, nothing for about 15 minutes. Then it was back and forth between two ladies, each trying to be nice but each interrupting my otherwise relaxing time just getting off work. The food was some of the worst mexican I have had. The three items I wanted to try were 'out of season' so no Ceviche, no fish tacos, no roughy. I was rather disgruntled and just wanted to head out at this point, as my $7 margarita came and was made from some super sweet bottled mix and had a great deal of salt in the bottom of the glass. So I got the steak nachos, which came out soggier than decaying swamp grass, and tasted about equal (though the guac was, admittedly, pretty tasty). No value for any of the items, lousy service, and it just made me more upset the longer...
Read moreWhat in the actual F*. This place is completely overpriced and overrated. The food is at best OK. The environment is Meh…the service is lacking and confusing. I know that seems odd but we had 4 different servers come to our table and none of them were there to take our order. We had a party of 8 which included 5 adults and 3 kids. Kids ordered cheese quesadillas and fries. Adults ordered regular meals. Small portions and bill was close to $400. We had a few mixed drinks alcohol is used very sparingly as if to stretch each bottle for the remainder of the year yet each drink was still $16. Inflation I guess. Still not as great as people make it seem. I guess when there isn’t many places to choose from you just learn to accept restaurants that...
