Read moreMy experience at this particular motel 6 has been "interesting" at best.
Myself and two friends booked rooms last minute off a third party site as we were in from out of town and it was the most cost effective route to go. Now on a personal level being formal military, just having a bed was better than multiple accommodations I've had in the past. Unfortunately things went severely downhill from there. The cable via dish network was not working, the digital antenna channels weren't picking up like that should have been. I had to tinker with the TV to get anything out of it, (which didn't help much).
As I was laying down trying to relax before going to the event I was in town for, another gentleman got assigned to my room and proceeded to walk in unannounced (not his fault, I was not even mad at him, just a very inconvenient circumstance) he apologized and left, assumingly handled the issue accordingly. However, upon trying to leave to head to my event, I attempted to walk back into my room as I had forgotten to grab something only to find out my key card was now not working. Due to time constraints, I didn't have time right then to take care of the situation accordingly so it had to wait until I got back.
Upon my return to the facility, I went to the front desk to get my key card fixed. The wonderful lady (I believe her name was Lisa) who was working the counter did everything to assess the situation at hand and handle things accordingly. (Meanwhile there was a lot more of an issue that even I was dealing with). She had noticed there was a much larger issue at hand and absolutely took care of everything immediately. Lastly as I went to call down to the front desk to thank this nice woman, I then discovered the phone was not working at all.
What I can say about this particular motel 6. The price and location are in great standing. Unfortunately the initial service is absolutely unsatisfactory and nothing works the way it should. If you want cheap and convenient, then yes, feel free to book. If you want perfection, do yourself a favor and...
Read moreThe front desk clerk didn't read the request I made when I did the reservation. I always ask for one of several specific rooms and this hotel always tries to put me in rooms closer to the lobby instead of in the back near the pool where I request to be. This time I was given a room about half way down the hall and the rooms I had suggested all seemed to be open. Very few people at the hotel so I don't understand the difficulty of getting a room where I want to be.
There was no kleenex in the room. There never is at this motel.
It would be great if there were more working tv channels. We like to watch MSNBC and that isn't an option here. This time, even CNN didn't work so my only news channel choice was Fox. No, thank you. And that was after having to get the TV fixed. That took two trips from the front desk just to get the batteries in the remote replaced.
New since the last time we stayed here is a $25 charge to my credit card as part of the room bill that is supposed to be refunded after checkout. We checked out yesterday morning and I don't see the $25 credit on my credit card activity yet. It would make more sense to have the $25 be a separate "charge" and just put it in pending at check in. Then it is much less of a hassle just to not complete the charge so it disappears from pending. That is easier than having to process an actual credit. I'm assuming I will get the credit but there is no guarantee that I won't have to call to get it moving. This new charge is an annoyance.
One that that was handled very well was a noisy neighbor coming in very late and playing loud music. The walls aren't that thick so music at 1:45 AM was keeping me awake. The front desk employee immediately came to the neighbor's room and tapped on the door to tell them to quiet down. It worked! She was very polite and I appreciate that she...
