Where do I start? Upon arrival for check in, it was around 8:30 pm. We were tired from traveling all day, and not an employee in sight. After 20 minutes, we finally are greeted by a front desk clerk that was “fixing a broken tv” in the breakfast area. We were in the second building, and I thought it was odd, it didn’t require key access for entry. Pretty unsafe if you ask me.. We go up the stairs to our room and the hallways are very dated and not the cleanest. Once in our room, we notice a list of things that are unpleasant, but not enough to complain about, yet: Broken A/C- it blew out cold air, but the entire top panel is missing. Broken curtain that won’t close all the way. The fridge is off balance. Uneven flooring (which looked new but wasn’t installed correctly) Lose tiles in the bathroom. Trash under the bathroom sink. We were tired, showered, and went to bed. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast starting at 6:00 am. It’s advertised online, we were reminded by the front desk, and the sign out front says “breakfast buffet.” The next morning, we get up at 6:00 am and head over to the main building for breakfast. We’re greeted by a worker who says “we don’t have waffle batter…and waffles are all we have.” ..breakfast buffet, WHERE? My husband and I decided we would just make some toast (they had bread, yogurt, and cereal) but there were gnats and flies in the bread bin! We go to McDonalds, unplanned, and go back to our room. It was pretty cold that morning, so I decide to take the blankets off the 2nd bed we didn’t sleep in, to get warm. Surprise- STAINS ALL OVER THE BLANKET. Blood, koolaid? I have no idea, but I had enough. I go back to the main lobby, and wait 30 minutes for an employee. All the time listening to other guests complain about the breakfast. A man gets in line behind me and says his shower isn’t draining, and he’s already been moved to a different room once, because it was also disgusting. Finally, someone comes to the desk, and tells me complaints go to the manager, who would be in at 8 am. I come back around 8:10 am, and speak to the manager. I let her know the room was disgusting, and a stained blanket is appalling- at what point do you not just throw that away?! She stated they just went though a new housekeeping crew, and had ordered new bed linens. She also said maintenance would be made aware of the A/C, and there were 4 new units in storage. She said housekeeping would be in to completely clean our room (we still had 1 more night there) and our first night would be refunded, which I appreciated, but the refund still has not been placed back on my card, so...
Read moreThe front desk ladies were very nice! The lobby is nice when you first walk in. There are no locks on any doors so anyone can walk into the hotel at any time. There are two buildings with an outdoor and indoor pool between them. No locks on the pool area either. Kids, all teens, went to swim. Hot tub was small and green. Indoor pool green. Outdoor pool green with an entire corner slimy from algae cover. The building overall is very run down. The Ice maker was next to a restaurant style ice maker. The inside lid on that was covered in mold. Sheets and bedspreads all were stained. We had a room to fit 8, we had a family of 7. Only 6 towels and wash cloths with no spare TP rolls. I had to visit the front desk for additional towel and TP. I thought housekeeping would leave enough for the next day but same count and I had to ask for another again. Housekeeping only brought new bath linens. Bed linens were not changed, everything was left as when we woke up. The bathroom wall seemingly had some repair to the wall to the left of vanity and was covered with paint a different color than the base. The paint behind the toilet was coming off the wall. The toilet seat was peeling in the shape of butt cheeks. The lip on the front of the vanity had chunks missing. We did a family road trip vacation. We stayed in a Sleep Inn in Buffalo and it was nice with great staff. We stayed in a Quality outside DC for one of my kids’ middle school trips. It was clean and well maintained. So based on my past experience with this chain, I was expecting simple but clean and well kept accommodations. This location was disappointing. I can understand wear and tear but this was absolutely run down, not maintained, and not secure.
Continental breakfast at the Sleep and Quality we stayed at in other cities included eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, muffins/toast/bagels, fruit, yogurt, boiled eggs, individual cereal boxes, and drinks including coffee, apple juice, orange juice, water, and cranberry juice. This location had make your own waffles, two cereals in dispensers, fruit, and yogurt. The juice and water dispenser was broken. None of us drink coffee so we had to drink the water we had in our room or go to McDonalds for juice. I would not recommend this location, especially traveling as a family due to lack of lock on any doors. The condition of the pools and hot tub are health concerns. We were disappointed overall but especially because of our prior experiences with...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE!!!! DO NOT STAY AT ANY QUALITY INNS EVER!!!! My room was not cleaned well. The lights were flickering constantly sometimes going out for a few seconds before coming back on. Very noisy late at night inside and outside. Also house keeping came in my room during the day and didn't clean anything at all. They actually left my door open all day! I am so glad I decided to take all of my belongings with me because they probably would have been stolen if I left them during the day. They left bed unmade, didn't replace the shampoo and soaps, and left the room more disgusting than before. The toilet was clean when I left but when I returned at night it had #1 in it. Also the coffee maker was gone and the used coffee filter bag was inside the door on a bench. A used tissue was on the floor inside the room too. Also the hotel couldn't give me a new room because they were booked and the hotel manager wasn't coming in until 8am and I needed to check out before then. The front desk told me they recently hired a new housekeeping person. Clearly they need to be fired. Because of "covid" housekeeping duties are reduced right now but they left it a mess when I left the room clean. I didn't even want damn housekeeping to "clean" while staying there for 3 nights anyways. Once again this could have been a lot worse if I left my belongings in the room especially valuables. This is why I never leave my belongings in a hotel room while out for the day. And don't think that leaving the do not disturb sign on the door will keep housekeeping out. At another (non) quality inn, I once had housekeeping open the door to my room at 9:30am. The deadbolt screws were hanging off the door so it was useless so I barricaded the door with the couch the night before which is why he didn't get in. Not to mention the terrible lack of customer service and respect from the management and staff of these terrible hotels. Just never stay at quality inn especially this one. There's plenty of other hotels in the area to...
