If I could give them 0 stars I would. I called on 9/6 to reserve a room for 9/9. I was asked only to provide my name and phone number to hold the room. The person said I did not need to provide a Credit card to reserve the room (most places always take a card). I arrive in to town on Saturday, the day I reserved the room for, well before check in time, so I proceed to my son’s baseball tournament. While at the tournament, I get a call from the hotel at 1:30pm asking if I am still staying there. I confirmed with them that I was at a baseball tournament and I wouldn’t be able to check in until later that day, but I was going to be staying there and needed the room. They were completely booked and the person wanted to ensure all reservations were coming. At this time I asked if I needed to check in by a certain time, and if so, I could drive the 20 minutes to the hotel and check in. The person, again, said “no. I just need to know you’re coming. You are set and we will have your room ready.

At 6:30 we finished our games for the day and my son and I drove to town and went to check in. We arrived at roughly 7pm, and to our surprise, “we didn’t have a reservation”. The person said they couldn’t find our reservation and they didn’t have any rooms. I asked her to look up by my name, phone number, anything else. She couldn’t find it. I explained the conversations I had with the 2 previous reps and she did confirm with the person I spoke with at 1:30 that she did talk to me and my booking was confirmed. Still, she couldn’t find it. After about 30 minutes we were finally told they didn’t have a room and there was nothing they could do.

We were 1.5 hours from home and had to be back in the area by 7am the next day. It had been a long day and my kid was exhausted. Our options were to drive back home or drive back towards the area of the baseball field to another town and stay in a hotel with another family and sleep on the floor. That drive was almost another hour. We ended up having to sleep on the floor with friends at another hotel to avoid the 3 hour round trip again.

I understand things happen, but this was such an awful experience with zero accountability or even an answer to how this occurred. Further, while I did treat the person respectfully and kept my cool (because I thought it wasn’t her fault) I have a sneaking suspicion she is the one that gave my room away. When I called corporate, they found my booking immediately, but said it was on a courtesy hold because they didn’t have a credit card, which means they could technically give my room away. So, 2 people told me I didn’t need to provide my CC to hold the room, even though I offered to give them one, and I’m assuming a note wasn’t put in the system to confirm that I was coming. A comedy of errors…I guess they don’t always leave the...

The best I can say for this hotel is that the exterior is nice. My husband and I stayed here 5 years ago last time we were in Texas when it was under a different name. Wrongly, we assumed that it would be as wonderful as it had been.

We walked in at 1am to find that the person hovering outside the main door was in fact the night auditor. He barely spoke a word as we checked in, which it’s fine, it’s 1am. He was in extremely casual street clothes.

Our first clue that quality had gone down was at the elevator. The light covering for the up arrow was missing. Going down the hallway to our room, you could see the wooden handrails had been re-stained, but whoever had done it hadn’t bothered to cover the wall, so the walls had also been stained. The bottom of each room’s door was damaged as well.

Walking into the room, we were greeted with carpet that wasn’t attached to the threshold. Turning on the bathroom light, 3 bugs went scurrying, so I killed those before I looked around. The light fixtures were missing coverings, one of the lights didn’t work, and the toilet seat was stained with speckles of pink from their cleaning solution, was missing a pad under the seat, and part of the white covering had some polka dots with the actual seat peeping through. Now I’m not unaware of the current struggles, but a toilet seat is $15 and 5 minutes of labor.

The rest of the room was equally uncared for. Furniture is scratched and worn, and the sofa bed sagged and attempted to eat you when you sat down. Someone has used a pencil to scribble all over a lampshade, and by day 3, the third floor smelled like a 2 week old box of kitty litter. When I went to the front desk, I got a nod and a shrug. There are red dots of what I can only assume is dried blood on the curtains, wall corners have damaged drywall and the refrigerator probably hasn’t been de-frosted since the day it was installed.

All this is a far cry from 5 years ago. At $55/ night, I wasn’t expecting the Taj Mahal, but I was certainly hoping for better care. At best, there was available parking and the bed remained exceedingly comfortable (although under the circumstances, I did check it for bed bugs). No breakfast was offered, only coffee, which is probably for the best, considering.

Frankly, I would have gone somewhere else -even at 1am- had there been an available room within 40 miles. Spend a little extra money on a choice hotel. This wasn’t...

The lobby had a broken piece of granite as a reception desk. It was taped together with what appears to be electric tape. The lobby had furniture randomly placed. The dining area had a empty vending machine sitting near the center of the room. The floor was filthy with food stains. The guest lobby bathrooms (male and female) had a hand written “out of order” sign on them. Looking through the door of the fitness room revealed a room full of random items. Non of which was fitness equipment. No lights were on in the common areas. There was a random male teenager roaming about. Bumped into to me 3 times during the course of my very short stay. Following me on the elevators going outside then coming back in. ||1st room key card would not work after getting a new key card 3 times a new room was assigned. The receptionist blamed me for keeping the key card too close to my phone. That did not happen. As a frequent traveler I know better. The 1st room smelled of old urine. The room itself was dis shelved. The couch cushions out. On the arms of the sofa. We ask for a different room. The next room …. The smell was better. The couch cushions again out on the arm of the sofa. Each piece of wooden furniture was broken and or delaminated. Brown substance smeared on the wall. Holes in the black out curtains. The bottom of the sheer curtains had a black substance on the bottom 1-2 inches. We thought we would make the best of if it and attempted to stay. A quick check of the mattress edge reveled black short beard hairs all along the edge. But I did NOT note the tell tale signs of bed bugs. The wifi did not work. The tv did not work. My husband put in a desperate call into the hotel next door to see if indeed they were sold out as their website stated. They had a room for us. So we promptly requested a refund and...

Update: added just a few of the photos. Maz: I called corporate the day I checked out as was your suggestion since you refused to refund my money. Funny thing is that I frequently stay in Mineral Wells and if you had a decent establishment I would have been a regular customer. Horrible experience. I wouldn't even give it one star if I didn't have to. I spoke to 3 different people prior to arrival and specifically asked about the hot tub and pool. Not one of them told me that the heater was broken, and apparently has been for months, and they were ice cold. Dog poop was everywhere. Thousands of cigarette butts all over the ground. I was nearly attacked by a large dog in the hallway. Air conditioner was so filthy it gave me an asthma attack. There was something that I wouldn't venture to say all over the phone. I would have left immediately had it not been for the fact that all the other hotels in town were booked. For the first time ever, I asked for a refund, but they refused to do so even though they are offering a service that they aren't providing. I will never stay here again and really wish I could upload pictures of everything I spoke about in addition to all the junk furniture and trash that is piled up that looks like it has been there for a very long time. The only good thing I can say is Deidra was nice. Update: added just a few of the photos.

Wanted to add to my previous review but it wont let me edit. Jacuzzi did not work. King size bed was comfortable and plenty of pillows. Apparently room 110 is beside the maintenance guys /employee hangout room. So all night we heard people talking and cigarette smoke wafted thru the separator door. Finally we asked them to be less loud and stop smoking. The employee mentioned something about special needs child being in the room (why is that an excuse) and when confronted about smoking she claimed she couldn't smell anything and she was just in the room. Hopefully this review reaches the management level because employees don't follow the "absolutely no smoking in this hotel" rule they preach to each guest. Avoid this place if possible. At the least avoid room 110! It reeks of smoke.
