My MIL booked this hotel for my family ( 3rd trimester pregnant me, my husband, and my four year old) in August 2017. She visited before booking and immediately noticed the stained couches in the lobby. The individual assisting her assured her that the hotel was undergoing renovations, however, they were not certain if they would be complete prior to our stay 12.23. When we arrived, there were 6+ couches just sitting outside to the left of the entrance which did give it a grungy, rundown appearance. We were able to check in about an hour early and unpack our things. The front desk called to ensure everything was okay-at that point it was okay. The window was left open--but that was a somewhat easy fix we could take care of ourselves. We left the hotel about an hour later and then returned around 8:10 p.m. We noticed immediately that the room right next to ours was being worked on by, individuals whom appeared to be migrant workers. Okay-we figured they were wrapping up (maybe it was a project running late considering the hour). I proceeded to get my daughter and myself ready for bed while my husband ran an errand. However, after we were settled (around 9:00 p.m.) it was apparent that the workers were now working on the room on the OTHER side of ours...we could hear repeated scrapping of the walls and people walking back and fourth--hitting/banging on the wall. My daughter was scared (because the wall was being scratched on!!)--but I assured her they were just workers and that they would certainly be done soon. Nope. 9:30 p.m. and they're still doing dry-wall work (or something, you could hear the signature drag and scrape of a trowel). I text my husband that they were STILL working and he said he would talk to the front desk when he got back (I didn't want to upset my daughter by dragging her down to talk to them when she should have already been asleep after a long 3 hour drive, followed by a family function.) When he arrived and talked to the front desk at 9:45 p.m. they told him "they shouldn't be working right now," and told us that it would stop. It did, around 10:00 p.m. BUT around 10:15 p.m. we started to hear heavy footsteps in the room above ours walking back and fourth and back and fourth---and so on. This continued for HOURS. We heard a tool drop and roll around 1:00 a.m. or so and I sent my husband upstairs to just check and make sure it was the workers and not some unruly guests. He went to the 3rd floor and confirmed that it was the workers--they had furniture out in the hallway and they were loudly talking to each other. He, again, went to the front desk and was told "they shouldn't be working" and "it will stop." While he was making his way back to our room, the front desk CALLED OUR ROOM PHONE at 1:15 a.m. AND THEN HUNG UP! The workers eventually stopped working on the room above us around 1:30 a.m.-1:45 a.m. But it sounded as if they started again around 4:30 a.m. But we were too exhausted to go and look. When we were checking out, the "free continental breakfast" was full of, what appeared to be migrant workers. The front desk individual asked how our stay was--and I can safely say that it was the absolute worst hotel experience of my lifetime, so far. We told him about the nights events. He was unapologetic and actually had the nerve to ask, "why didn't you ask to switch rooms?" AT 1 A.M. WITH A 4 YEAR OLD?! Why on earth would I do that when it is clear that these workers were continuing to work all around the hotel while guests tried to sleep!? Why wake up my child (when she actually WAS able to sleep) to roll the dice and hope you put us in a room where they wouldn't be working on/near next?! We were asked for our contact information because the GM R. Patel was to contact us--as we felt the service of this business (provide a room for us to SLEEP) was not met. He young man at the desk AGREED that we should not be paying for our room-and that he felt the GM would agree too. The GM was supposed to contact us when he got in. That was two days ago and we have YET to have anyone...
Read moreMy son had a fishing tournament on a Sunday morning in Monee, so my family needed somewhere to stay Saturday night. I booked a room with 2 double beds for my husband, me, & our kids (ages 1, 5, & 10) at the Red Roof Inn since it was 10 minutes from the tournament & had a pool for the kids. I called to verify room availability & continental breakfast before booking for $89.
The pros: -air conditioning worked well -the room was clean -the pool was great -staff was pleasant -the hotel was quiet
The cons: -The first room they assigned to us had a double bed & a twin bed. The second room had 2 twin beds. Logistically, that wasn't going to work with 5 of us. It seemed like management didn't know what was in the rooms & made me sound crazy since they insisted they were all double beds (I took pictures show them otherwise). They finally assigned us to a room with 2 double beds. -After seeing 3 different rooms, I realized they were all equipped differently. Some had microwaves, some didn't. The bathrooms were a variety sizes & cleanliness. Some had coffee makers with pots, some were single brew style. None of them had refrigerators, & only the ice maker on the 1st floor was in working order. -When inquiring, I was told that breakfast was from 5-9. My husband & son went down at 5:30 to eat before leaving to the tournament, but there was nothing out. -The side door to the hotel was always cracked open, & couldn't be shut. Anyone could come and go at any time, which was a safety concern being there with my 3 kids. Nearby was a truck stop/travel center, so people were probably always coming & going. -All of the "emergency only" doors were propped open.
A tip: Keep your key card far from your phone, otherwise it'll lose the coding & won't work. Happened to me at least twice just from them being in the...
Read moreWhen things come up missing and you question the staff and even owner Raj Patel they will claim never to have seen it. After pressing the issue magically my missing items appear at front desk three weeks later. After brushing this issue off another issue arises. My truck gets towed from the property and gets impounded after the owner installs a sign without my knowledge stating an outrageous tow fee. My vehicle had all tires flattened on the property and somehow cameras didn’t pickup the culprit. Next day my truck is gone. After showing the owner that I had proof he snuck the tow away sign up without my knowledge he agreed to pay a quarter of the $500 bill tacked on my towed vehicle. After calling guest relations and waiting for response my vehicle tacked an ungodly amount of storage fees. Only to be sold at auction. The response from guest relations was “- Red Roof Inn & Suites Monee. We are disappointed that the handling of your situation has not been to your satisfaction.
