If you read this and don’t make an appointment, I’m mad at you. I rarely write reviews, especially on the same day I receive a service. But I literally couldn’t wait to get home to write why I will be a regular here from now on. I have been getting my nails professionally done on a regular basis for over 20 years, and I’ve never had an experience quite like the one I had at Paradise Spa & Nails tonight. I used to seldomly go to the same building for my nails when it was VIP Nails, but mostly I went to Tony’s Nails or to a private, appointment only nail tech. I’ve been to nail salons all over, when I lived in the Philadelphia area, on vacations, etc. When I tell you I’ve never received service in a walk-in salon before like this, I’m not joking, and I’ve not been paid for my review. I walked in expecting a standard walk-in appointment experience - hearing “PICK YOUR COLOR” instead of a warm greeting, being made to wait 30 min - 1 hour past my appointment time, seeing dirty tools, having to get cash of an expensive ATM for a tip, employees that look miserable, etc. At Paradise tonight, I got the opposite. An extremely friendly greeting, they asked my name, told me theirs. I wanted a very specific color and design, and my tech (who is also the manager) Scott took a painstakingly long time helping me find and sample the perfect colors to match my photo, and with entirely more patience than I would’ve had. We were basically old friends when we found the right look, lol. Just 100% kind from the get-go, funny, talked to me the entire time, and showed actual interest in everything I said. I didn’t feel rushed, like I was being up-sold anything, and I was just totally comfortable and happy. They had a great cooking show playing, nice Christmas music, my nails look INCREDIBLE (I made two quick stops on the way home, and at both places, my nails were complimented). The aesthetic value of the remodel from VIP to Paradise cannot be overstated. It is clean, bright, tastefully decorated, has beautiful nail chairs and stunning pedicure loungers. AND they take tips on cards!! Another thing I noticed immediately is that the employees looked happy to be there, they looked professional, they were laughing and enjoying themselves. The best part: THEY GAVE ME WINE. They even asked me what TYPE of wine I like and I sipped Rosé throughout my appointment. Was that the best part though? Or was it when they gave me a free (standard!) paraffin hand wax??? Wait, no! It was when I told them I had pain in my big toe from cutting the nail poorly, and Scott’s beautiful wife Megan put me in a pedicure chair and patiently fixed it until I had no more pain (also free)?? WAIT, NO, I think the best part had to be when I was getting my toe surgery and causally asked when they close tonight and they said 5:30. IT WAS 6:30. I’m a jackass, and when I apologized profusely, they said it was absolutely no big deal and they were happy to help me. I mean….. would you not immediately write a rave review about this place, too? Ask for Scott or Megan (although everyone was so nice). You’ll get wine, treated like gold, and come out with 10/10 nails and a 11/10 experience. To summarize: Happy, friendly, welcoming, accommodating staff Better results than anywhere else locally Wine TVs with things you actually want to watch Clean and sanitary Beautiful remodel Patient beyond understanding Free paraffin wax hand treatment Go here instead of other local walk-in nail salons and *I promise* you will not regret it. Thank me later 🙂

I’ve never written a negative review before, but I feel like I need to share my recent experience. First, I want to say that the nail technician who worked on me was very sweet and professional. This isn't about her personally. I’ve been coming here for cat eye nails for a while now (over five visits), and they’ve always turned out beautifully. Unfortunately, this time it was clear the tech wasn’t comfortable with the design, and the result reflected that. I understand everyone has to start somewhere, and I was willing to be patient. However, the issue was that she didn’t use an opaque base, so the nails came out very sheer and unfinished-looking. I politely asked for another coat, but instead of helping, the manager stepped in, told me I was wrong, and refused to fix the issue. The shape of some of the nails were also a little uneven, but at that point I just wanted to leave. I still paid and tipped because I appreciated the technician’s effort, but I left feeling completely dismissed. This salon charges a premium, and the least I expect is to be listened to and treated respectfully. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning after this experience.

Terrible experience here, do not recommend. I’m not from the area and picked this place because of the great reviews. I went in for a fill. I told the lady what I wanted done and she starts cutting my nails down. Then she tells me it’s too late for a fill and she has to remove my nails and put new ones on. I know plenty of people who go four weeks between fills. I had waited 3.5 weeks. So then I tell her I don’t want new nails so if I can’t get them filled, just take them off. She tries to convince me to get new nails but I refuse. She then starts taking my nails off with a fake nail instead of soaking them off. After she does three nails like this, I ask her if she can soak them off instead because she’s hurting me. She continues trying to pry my pinkie nail off and makes me bleed (see picture below). She finally gets a bowl so I can soak my other hand off. You can see the different in the picture between the hand that was soaked off and the one where the nails were ripped off. I was still charged the $15 and didn’t even get any oil or lotion on my nails.
