Charming Getaway Near Acadia – A Hidden Gem in Bar Harbor
If you’re looking for a cozy, welcoming place to stay near Acadia National Park, this inn is an absolute treasure. Tucked just a few minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, it’s the perfect blend of comfort, charm, and convenience.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The inn has a quaint New England vibe with beautifully maintained gardens, a peaceful porch for morning coffee, and inviting common areas that make you feel right at home. Each room is tastefully decorated with a touch of rustic charm, and ours had a lovely view of the nearby woods — the perfect backdrop to unwind after a day of exploring.
Location-wise, it’s hard to beat. You’re just a short drive (or even a bike ride) from Acadia National Park’s entrance and close to hiking trails, Jordan Pond, and the Park Loop Road. There are also great cafes, restaurants, and local shops nearby, so you can easily enjoy the best of Bar Harbor without straying far.
Continental breakfast with fresh fruit and blueberry muffins.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the attention to detail, they had towels and sunscreen available.
Whether you’re in the area for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, this inn is a perfect home base. We’ll...
Read moreWe stayed in room #4 for four nights and the room was spacious with a queen sized bed and a back door where we could nearly park in front of. The room was very clean, which I really appreciated. Best water pressure we have had in a very long time. Pipes are old, so you will hear other guests turning on the water etc.||There are a few things I would add/change/update:||1. Hang another mirror in the room, since it’s not easy to do make-up in front on the bathroom mirror with the sink in front| |2. Change the locks and keys: I understand it’s keeping the old charme of the place but it was definitely not easy to lock and unlock with the tiny old keys||3. As a short person I couldn’t close the shutters in the room without getting on a chair. A hook of some sort or any other help would be great (like back door or bathroom)||4. Heater of some kind in the bathroom would be great. It’s pretty cold in the bathroom||5. Add a safe to the rooms, so important things can be stowed||6. Breakfast offered is unfortunately very disappointing. Packed donuts, packed oatmeal, bit of fruit, cereal bars and freshly baked muffins are too little for the cost of the room per night (279 dollars/night for end end of season and booked six...
Read moreGreat Inn if you are wanting to explore MDI. They have thought of everything. Breakfast is grab and go. 2-3 kinds of fresh fruit, muffins, pre packaged donuts, and various types of granola bars. Hot water all day with tea. Coffee in the morning was delicious, very smooth and served with half & half. There is a water and ice machine for your convenience. Beds were comfortable and the linens and towels were soft. We stayed in room 3 and had plenty of hot water and amazing water pressure. Fire pit is furnished with wood perfectly stacked each night to start a fire. Several Adirondack chairs around the inn to sit and enjoy a drink in the evening. Plenty of wine glasses, openers etc. can be found as well. The only cons I could mention are the out dated bathrooms and peeling wallpaper. Nothing stopped us from having a lovely time. Easy 10 minute walk to Northeast Harbor where you find a handful of restaurants if you want to avoid Bar Harbor. Be aware that the Inn is located on a curve in the road making it a bit nerve racking to pull out. Highly recommend this Inn and so glad we...
