During the reservation process, the only request I made was that we would like a room that had always been non-smoking, as I am a Dessert Storm vet with asthma. When we checked in, the First thing we smelled was the strong smell of mold. Part of the floor under the carpets as missing, so I Asked for another room. I was told that we could be moved to the last room available. The person who checked us in blamed the moldy smell on recent rain. I told him that I've visited my mother in Mountain Home for over 20 years, and that her home is the same age as the hotel, and I've never smelled mold or mildew there... Or anywhere in the area as far as I could recall. The smell in the new room was just as bad, but at least the floor was in tact. The chair in the room left black marks on our skin, and the floor was so damp that it soaked our socks. To clarify- the whole floor was damp, not just parts. The staff only lit the pool after we got out out- we had to swim in the dark each time. I did make the front desk staff aware of the issues, but had to get in line behind people with the same issues. Breakfast was okay, but the lady running the breakfast won't let you take a yogurt to your room without special permission. She also insisted that I only drink my coffee in the breakfast area, even though there is a coffee pot in the room. ?????? Ice machine always empty, and room fridge on the fritz. Read moreWe have stayed here several times in the past 4 years and it's always been wonderful. However, this time was different. We arrived around 5pm to find our reservation was cancelled due to a card issue. We were never notified of there being any problem. Luckily they had a room available, but they couldn't give us the discounted price we originally had for belonging to a choice privelage member group. Still not sure why. Whatever, we still needed a place to stay since we were 2 hours from home. We get to our room and it smelled like mold and mildew. The air was turned as low as it would go to help cover up the smell. Didn't work. Luckily they had another room available to move us to which was better, but not great. Fast forward to breakfast. We woke up late 8:30 am went down to eat and there was nothing left and it was never restocked. I understand breakfast ends at 9, but you should have all food available until 9! Same happened on Sunday and we were up early. Never restocked anything! The manager and the hotelnclerk had very hateful attitudes as did some of the housekeepers. The only pleasant experience I had was the managers puppy on the counter that I got to pet when I walked by. Read moreCurrently in the midst of mine and my spouse's stay. And let me tell you this hotel is nothing but excellent. Our power polls were taken out by a tree in CALICO rock. And My husband has severe epilepsy. And with no electric the cold can cause him to go into even more extreme seizures. I went ahead and booked the suite to accommodate his needs for space in case of a fall out. And with our two little service dogs. They have a no pet policy in suites. But Still took the effort to make sure we could have our suite. Then I booked through choice rewards app and THEY OUT SOURCED MY PAYMENT TO GERMANY. Can you believe that.... The company that promotes this hotel and everyone recommends to use for booking including the hotel OUTSOURCED MY PAYMENT. And charged my card not only once. But twice! 658 and some change dollars!!!!! Me and the guest services manager Carol remained on the phone with choice rewards for over 5 hours!!!!! And finally got it to where they are going to be held responsible so I'm not out 1300 dollars!!!!
