Okay, we really wanted to love this place in Mountain Home. We just can't. We have tried pizzas, meh salads, meh desserts, meh appetizers, meh pastas, meh. Really just meh. Nothing over the top here. Let me explain. The lasagna appetizer is good with the bread bites. The chicken quesadilla is bland but the salsa was good and homemade. Salads are basic with no flare. (Could make at home for price). Pizza's depends on which one you get. We have tried the BBQ, meats, jalapeños one just not great. The flavor profile is just off. The bread tasted like cardboard and lacking in flavor. Pasta is okay. Sometimes its good sometimes its over cooked. Consistency is off. (Maybe new staff) it reminds me of a TV dinner. HOWEVER BEER IS COLD. The cleanliness of this place isn't the best. Its a newer building by 2 years now and I think its lacking here. Restrooms aren't always clean either. (Yes I know short staffed) but while we were here in Sept 2021 we went for early dinner and busy when we got there and we were last table to leave. We watched tables sit empty and plates on tables while wait staff was eating behind kitchen walls. They would pop head around corner to check on us. I saw a kitchen crew spit chewing Tabacco into a trash can in kitchen by the line where food was being made. I was horrified! We just won't be back. Also I heard a server tell a table well I dropped a piece of your pizza pie (to go) while cutting it so I just took off $5 dollars off bill. Didn't offer to make a new one or what customer would like to do. Just disappointed with Brick...
Read moreSome people say I can be to demanding on my reviews, but I figure if I'm paying my hard earned money for something, I have the right too have high expectations. I've eaten twice at Brick Oven in Mountain Home, AR and I hate to say it, but I'm not impressed one bit. My first meal was a Mediterranean Chicken pizza. Lack of flavor was our biggest complaint. The second meal was a Meatball Sub. First, the hoagie roll wasn't a hoagie roll, no matter what their supplier calls it. Second, the meatballs were were so out of ratio with the roll that I couldn't hold the roll without the meatballs falling out. If the roll was in fact a true hoagie roll thus wouldn't have been a problem. Third issue was lack of Italian flavor. Will I go to Brick Oven Pizza again? Probably, sometime in the future. Far future.
UPDATE ON REVIEW: After my rather critical review, I was contacted by management, who invited me back for a full explanation and apologizes. I went back today and my new review follows: the meatball sub I devoured today was absolutely outstanding. It was served on a REAL hoagie roll, with all meatballs comfortably cushioned in with just the right amount of Italian sauce brilliantly seasoned and topped with the perfect amount of mozzarella cheese. It truly reminded me of being in an Italian deli in Philly. Apologies go both ways and my hat off for a taste of home. I WILL be back. In the...
Read moreSo we decided on our recent trip to Mtn Home to eat dinner before driving the hour and a half home. Wanting something different we stopped here. Gotta say, it was a great experience! We did an assortment of appetizers since neither of us were craving pizza. Although, from where we were seated I could watch the kitchen staff working the brick oven and we'll come back again yo try the pizza! We had the Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms, the Bruschetta Sticks, Terriyaki chicken wings and the Twisted Chicken Dip. Believe me when I said it was a feast and we had leftovers! The Stuffed Mushrooms were so delicious, smothered in the perfect amount of gooey cheese. The Bruschetta was a tasty fresh take on the traditional. And the star of the show was the Twisted Chicken dip! Simply amazing flavors packed into a simple dish! The staff was great, our server was very attentive and had great recommendations, the kitchen staff did a great job as well. I watched them closely, good clean habits and super nice to customers coming and going, they made sure to thank everyone on their way out the door. We will definitely...
