Mid-priced mexican restaurant with friendly staff and a good selection of margarita flavors.

Having grown up in California and living in South Texas for 14 years, I can be rather critical if a restaurant serves bland or "americanized" food and calls it authentic.

I ordered a chimichanga, which may sound hypocritical since it is technically an americanized invention, but I did so because it was one of a few items featuring shredded rather than ground beef. (Shredded seems to be more of a west coast version; tex-mex food almost never features it, so it has been quite a while since I have had it from a restaurant, and decades since I have had it from one done well). I was pleasantly surprised that it was beautifully cooked so that, unlike my experiences outside of California, it was NOT mostly fat but instead perfectly tender and tasty true shredded beef. I was a little taken aback that the chimichanga itself was either not fried, or had absorbed so much liquid as to be returned to a soft almost soggy state, but I set my mind to eating a "wet burrito" (what we called a burrito sauced on the outside in california) and was well satisfied with it from there.

The others I was with ordered various other items, and while none of is felt like it was groan-with-pleasure worthy, it was enjoyable and filling.

All-in-all, definitely somewhere I would return to when in...

My first and only choice for Mexican dining in Mountain Home! Always fresh, hot and delicious meals. Margaritas are to die for! Friendly and attentive staff. Haven't ever been disappointed.

UPDATE: Still 5 ⭐. There was was a misunderstanding with my order, but it was awesome and I ate it without complaints. The service was wonderful as always! 👩🏼‍🍳💋

UPDATE #2: My husband and I immensely enjoyed our 2nd Anniversary lunch at La Paloma! It was hot, fresh and oh so good!!! Service was top notch, as always!!!

UPDATE #3: La Paloma does it again!!! We met family for lunch. Our server was outstanding!!! He took our orders, and even came back to check with me about mine since I had made several requests. Food arrived hot, exactly as ordered and was Delicious!!! 👨🏽‍🍳💋 We had a pitcher of Margarita, because they make the best margs...

Hands. Down. Best. Mexican. Food. I’ve had my share of Mexican food in Texas and Florida, and I must say, La Paloma blows both out of el agua. Make sure to get one or two or three of their drinks! We had the Mountain Home Margarita, the Carrot-Rita and the Jalapeño Melon Rita. All fantastic because the oranges and limes are FRESHLY SQUEEZED at the bar, the jalapeños are fresh and the watermelon is muddled into the drink. Trust me, it makes ALL the difference. We also had the table side guac. Super delicious! Then we had the mole poblano enchiladas and the molcajete. The mole tasted fresh and homemade, and the molcajete is not only a showstopper, but super tasty (also, it’s a lot of food. Prob could split it with your date). The staff is super friendly, happy, and the atmosphere is lovely! Could not recommend this...

Don’t judge this place from the outside because it’s just a plain metal building. Once inside this restaurant is large, bright, clean and modern. There is a large bar/ restaurant area on one side and also another large restaurant area on the other with an additional private event dining room. I sat at the large well stocked bar. The bartender Adrian was quick to serve me. There are two Mexican beers and two domestic beers on tap. The menu is very authentic for this area. They even have Molcajetes served in traditional lava rock bowls on the menu. The food is quite reasonably priced and comes out quickly. Back to the bar, the liquor selection seems endless with many different tequilas. The bartender pours a strong drink well worth the price. Definitely a great place thatI’ll be coming back to soon.
