At the KOA Blue Ridge Toccoa River, the Owners clearly prioritize confirmation emails over customer service, so you’ll readily find “More Rules Than Amenities” might be a fitting slogan. Not an exceptionally pleasant check-in and the park is basic; aside from the river, there is not nature to appreciate here at all. Prepare to get nickeled and dimed, a lot of basic support items have a fee attached - basically the Ryan Air of campgrounds. We rented a cabin, not a site, so our expectations may be different than yours, but I would certainly recommend you pay attention to the patterns of the bad reviews as they’re fairly accurate. The cabins have a full kitchen which is great, though there is almost no interior prep space so prepare to make use of every flat object in the place. Utensils, plates? Not really - the cabin offers some cookware but the rest is just plastic silverware and some paper plates and cups. If you’re using the bathroom with the lights on, the neighbors can see your silhouette so just be discreet I guess. Wifi is worthless so bring a hotspot and prepare to burn data. You’re better off renting an RV and boondocking on the side of the highway, because, besides the gate, that’s all this place really offers to begin with. TL:DR: Don’t worry about anything, the Owners have Staff whipped into shape and well-scripted to remind you of the the rules if you might have missed the emails, but the bathrooms are nice.

This is the best KOA that I've stayed in for a long time. We would have loved to have stayed longer. The sites are large by KOA standards (though not as large as State Parks usually). The grounds are immaculate and the people are really nice. They have a small camp store and they have firewood and propane on the property. Our only drawback was that we had to pay $5 for a visitor's pass for my parents to come for about 30 minutes to see our new RV and another $5 for my son to come in when he had to come pick me up while our jeep was not running correctly. We did not use the laundry or bathhouse facilities. If you are interested in a Kamping Kabin, I would recommend the ones in the back of the property over the ones directly at the entrance. Update: 9/18/24 - Site 71 is not a good site for a Motorhome or if you need to have reliable WiFi. Since we are up high in the motorhome, our windows directly overlook the maintenance area of the park. It is quite unsightly and there are workers going in and out all day long on the gold carts so it's noisy as well. Additionally, the WiFi at this site is the worst that we have encountered here. There is not a good cell signal so if you really need good internet, you might want a site closer to the WiFi extenders.

Actually we did not stay here. There was 11 of us ladies that planned to tube the river. Our plans quickly turned into a rescue mission. We were unfamiliar with the river and didn't realize the water levels were up 4 ft and the river was flowing about 7 mph. All but 3 of us needed to be rescued. No life jackets and a few had lost tubes. Hanging on for dear life screaming for someone to help. Thank God we were by this RV park. Everyone came running. The first face I saw was of a sweet young man doing all he could to reach us with a tree limb. Then 2 men came over with ladders and was eventually able to pull us to safety. We would like to know who the young man was and also the 2 gentleman who risked their own lives by getting in the river to save us. Not to mention the numerous people who gave us towels, offered drinks and gave us all a ride to our vehicle. We are truly blessed to have had all these people in our path. We can't thank you enough. Staff, onlookers praying and the heros who saved us...thank you!! God bless you 🙏 ❤️

I would just love to say THANK YOU to the owners of the KOA Toccoa!!! My friends and I made reservations several months ago, to stay at this location during the last weekend of October. I had requested that if there was the chance of a slightly early check in on our arrival day, that we might be able to do so. The lady I made the reservation with said that if a site was open upon our arrival we should not have a problem! This was great because the person bringing our RV to set us up, needed to get back home (~2 hrs away) so he would not be late for work. Fast forward... the evening before our arrival I received a call to welcome us! How nice!!!! However, when I mentioned again about the early arrival and hopeful open site, I was told they absolutely could not accommodate us, because they were fully booked with no sites available the following day for us to check in until 2p. I understand policies!!! But, I explained the set up situation and offered to even pay for early check in ($10, the same as I did the last time we stayed here), but was once again told there would be no available sites. The staff member said she would see if there were any other options and call me back. When I got the call back I was then told that I could pay for an extra night to insure that we could check in anytime! But it would be $80!!! When I questioned this, saying that this means there ACTUALLY IS AVAILABILITY for early check in, I was told my reservation was being cancelled and I would be banned from this KOA location forever!!!! But I was told to try WATERSIDE RV RESORT 3 miles away....the night before my trip that was planned many months ago!!! I just want to say THANK YOU KOA TOCCOA for closing this door to you, and opening a new door for WATERSIDE!!! The experience there this weekend was SUPERB and you do not have to ban me....I would NEVER stay at your location again anyway! Too bad your owners/staff don't like being called out on your lies, and trying to nickle and...

We had such AMAZING service that I could not pass up the chance to review this place. It seems these days that good customer service is a thing of the past. My husband and two children went to KOA Holiday in Blue Ridge Ga last week-end. We parked our camper at the gate to check-in and for some reason our truck would not start. Jim pulled up his personal truck to charge my husband's battery. He took us to our campsite, helped my husband back in to our spot and went through the water, electric, sewer, and cable hook up. He personally delivered 3 loads of wood for our fire and a bag of ice. Then my son asked if we could watch the Braves. We didn't have a cable long enough. Jim went all the way to Walmart and bought us a cable...this is absolutely the truth. Him and his wife Jayne are two of the kindest people that I have met in a long time.

Our spot was right on the Toccoa River. My husband was in fishing heaven. The facility has a pool, corn hole boards, horse shoes, basketball, tether ball, laundry facility, dog park, walking trails, and much more. Our site had a glider, chairs, and a grill. They have a stocked store with everything you need. I even bought all the stuff to make smores and my husband bought fishing essentials.

The next most important thing for me though was the bathrooms were SPOTLESS. We have stayed at several campgrounds and the bathrooms were so filthy it made me cringe.

My children said this was the best camping spot we have been to and they are already begging to go back. We will definitely be going back...next time with our kayaks!

Jim and Jayne, you made our stay so...

I made a reservation and paid for a campsite in advance for a girls camping trip. We drove over 15 hours in rain to get to this KOA to be safe and relax for the night. There were accidents on the road that took us longer to arrive during office hours. I called and checked in partially over the phone and explained our situation. We got there after the office closed and ringed the bell to meet with the camp hosts. They were nice at first. Finally after a long day we were set up and trying to start a fire with the wet firewood they sold us for $9.00 a bundle. Then they asked us if we had a tent. I said no, we are SUV camping. People can van camp though? They strictly said there is no car camping. I said can you tell me why? They had no answer. I said we are 2 girls traveling alone and it makes us feel safer to sleep in an suv. Then the camp hosts said you can go buy and tent, set it up and sleep in your car. After many long hours we are forced to go to a Walmart to buy a $70 tent to set up in the dark and rain and pretend to sleep in it?? We got back and the gates were closed. We couldn't even get a refund. How can discretion not be used in a situation like this. We are not squatters, but people who made reservations in advance that paid and tried to do the right thing. Shame on you. The rest of our trip was at state parks where we were welcomed and felt much safer. I will never stay at a KOA again or reccomend it to...
