My family stayed at the Comfort Inn in Muscle Shoals as part of a 13-member baseball team competing in a 14-year old Dixie Boys Baseball State Tournament. If you are a parent, then you know what happens when you get 13 excited 14 and 15 year old boys together. The management at this hotel made this the best experience ever in trying to contain all of that energy. He allowed them to use the meeting room as a gathering space so they were not running the hallways on a non-stop basis. Then he hosted a cook-out by the pool for the team and families -- again focusing all that energy in the downtime of the tournament. As mothers, we were concerned about limited laundry facilities -- No Problem!! The hotel washed the baseball uniforms for us in the hotel laundry! On top of all the cheerful personal service at the hotel, the manager even came to our baseball games. Enough about baseball -- the rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Housekeeping services were prompt, cheerful and provided everything we needed. Continental breakfast in the hotel lobby area was a great asset. The hotel location was also a benefit, since the hotel was walking distance to both the baseball field and Waffle House to feed all the boys after late games. There were also numerous restaurants within a very short drive. In our 5-night visit, it became clear that this hotel had a lot of repeat business customers. I can understand why with the combination of great management and service, cleanliness and comfort, and...
Read moreDO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! A group of us meet every year for our Service Dog Handler Meet up. One of the members of our group which is a decorated military veteran with his service dog, wife and two children (one of which has type 1 diabetes) were kicked out of their room by this hotel and staff stating that the have a no pet policy. It is not a pet it is a service dog. As the veterans wife was standing at the front desk trying to explain to the front desk employee of ADA laws the employee went on to say that they did not allow emotional support animals again the wife explained it is a service dog and even pulled up ADA Laws on her phone to show the ignorant front desk employee. There WAS NEVER an instance of the service dog being disruptive as they had stayed there the night before with no problems. This hotel put a child’s life in danger that need her medication and a VETERAN with PTSD UNDEW STRESS. This hotel and their employees are extremely dumb with FEDERAL ADA LAW!!!!!! This hotel and the employee even took it further calling the police when all the wife was doing was trying to explain and was not being loud or disrespectful or disruptive. Your lack of knowledge has just got your corporation in some major problems. I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone. Beware of...
Read moreFellow veterans and service dog handlers I want to inform you that the Comfort Inn in Muscle Shoals discriminated against us today by throwing us out saying we violated their pet policy due to having my service dog with us. Keep in my mind my service dog was not being disruptive or an annoyance in anyway. There was no attempt to talk to us or reach out prior. Not only did they violate our civil rights and ADA guidelines they also put my daughter, who is type 1 diabetic, at risk by not allowing my wife access to our room so she could change her site. They caused us undo stress and also went as far as to involve the police even though we weren’t being rude or disrespectful. My wife tried to educate and inform the clerk as much as possible despite the situation. Keep in my mind my service dog was not being disruptive or an annoyance in anyway.
This is some friend of ours and I want everyone out there to know about this. Absolutely unacceptable! We breed, raise and train dogs for Service Dog work for those people that really need them and for a company like this to throw them out, clearly violating ADA law is totally uncomprehending! Comfort Inn you have lost my...
