Waffle House — Restaurant in Alabama

I am a frequent flyer at this location well I was at one time the last 2 times I been in this place the service was horrible as my server was katlyn both times the first time I had her she could not keep up at all with the pace and never filled our drinks as all she wanted to do was stand by the cook and talk about procedures not calling out orders well tonight we get our drinks she comes back to take our order we gave her what we wanted and she walks off which is great she gonna call it in but wait she squirrels out cause she never called the order from the table that ordered before us then after about 5 mins she comes back and gets the rest of our order and leaves the table and guess what she squirrels out again and comes back to ask my wife did she want hashbrowns with her ordered which she has clearly done told her yes so about 5 more mins goes by and she finally makes it to the cook to call out order well after about 20 or 25 mins she brings out my meal and my wife's which mine was wrong but I never said anything cause I was afraid I would never get my food back if I did but she never brought my daughter her one waffle she ordered so about 7 mins later I hear the cook say waffle was ready she acknowledged him but proceeded to got to the third table and start taking there order then finally went and stood my the cook a good 2 or 3 mins before she called out there order and finally brought my daughter's waffle out which was half cold and wouldn't hardly melt the butter she forgot to bring us the first time either way I hate to say but this women does not need to be waiting on tables maybe washing dishes and I don't know if she can do that right to be honest oh and by the way it wasn't busy it was us and 2 other tables anyways I will not be back in that place again and when I went tonpay she didn't even have our order on a ticket she had to look at menu and write that out and add it up...

After an evening of fishing, we decided to stop for a breakfast/dinner. It was around 9:00 p.m. There was a table who had received their food and were eating. Another table was waiting on food. Another walked in behind us. There were three working. One male cooking and two females were serving. My friend and I both felt the tension in the air between the workers. We sat for a while before our waitress began to take our orders. We had not even received menus. The two waitresses exchanged snarky looks toward each other. We ordered and waited as the other two tables food was cooked and one table was served. After quite some time waiting, our waitress approached us and said they were out of grits. My friend ordered an egg and sausage grit bowl. Sitting plainly in sight was a bag which read: Waffle House GRITS! When it came time to be served m, I was given another person’s order. I sat and waited as my waffle and ham was cooked. I was evenly served and watched as the very same plate which was sat in front of me was given to another customer.(with COVID still an ongoing issue, I was shocked to see) I later overheard the cook and a waitress discussing how the 9:00 relief had not shown up for work. The cook says he had worked 12 hour shifts for the last four days. I sat and listened to the other waitress continue to take orders from a group of about 12 people. I felt so sorry for the cook at this point. Had dinner last night , wasn't busy for waitress at all she was not interested in her patrons at all she went to the back several times on her phone and talking to some guy In a booth near back room! Had to choke down my food after I had to wait 20min just to get service to order my coke then 15mins after my food was done she finally decided to bring it to me no one else would after calling it out it was ready!! First time visit last time too I even had one of the cooks tell her I needed my waitress and he went back and promptly let Her know this loud enough and then returned to tell me she would be right up .... it never happened!!.... the other cook had to even cash me out and get my to go drink she looked at me several times from the back but never came up to service myself or others she was supposed to be provided for!! Sadly I will never return here again. I'll go to Cullman al where service has always been top shelf in all categories never let down and might I add .... never had this kind of intentional ignored services to customers in my entire restaurant visiting in my 52years of life!!! All but the cooks was not as attentive as they should have been!! Hopefully you all have a blessed Thanksgiving. And may I add the waiter on duty wouldn't even take up the slack!
