Keywest Inn — Hotel in Tuscumbia

I am a occupational therapist and I work for the department of veteran affairs. I was charged with helping a purple heart disabled veteran and his certified service dog with finding room and board in tuscumbia al for a few hours one evening. He needed to rest for a few short hours and was willing to pay a full night rate just to be able to do his dialysis for a few hours before getting on the road. You're making a reservation, and speaking with Sid the owner three times no less. We drove through a tornado and a torrential downpour and after 12 hours on the road we arrived. They turned us away because they did not want to give us the handicap room for one night because the owner had a date and wanted to use the room. They said they do not allow service animals although all the reviews say they are pet friendly we presented all the necessary credentials and were told that they do not have to acknowledge nor follow the policies of the law supporting Americans with disabilities. They laughed at me when I told them I would be writing reviews and exherting effort to make others aware of the experience that this disabled veteran was subjected to. Thank goodness he went to war several times so foreigners can hide behind the Constitution and use it against those who deserve to have their rights protected...

Rooms were clean I’ll give them that but when we got kicked out for having too many people in our room (it was a two bed and we had four people) they called the cops on us which is ridiculous because we were very respectful about the whole situation rules are rules I guess about us having to leave but calling the cops on us was just way out of pocket as we were leaving they called the cops on us the guy up front was very rude and kept saying we had booked on Expedia which we didn’t and said that he couldn’t do anything about a refund and we would have to contact Expedia but we didn’t book through them we called the hotel directly Edit: this is my response to the owner since it won’t let me respond directly the guy up front kept saying we lied which we didn’t plans just changed after we booked the room and honestly it shouldn’t matter anyway not allowing four people in a two bed room is ridiculous never have I ever seen a hotel like that and after I offered to pay extra for the other two people to stay he wouldn’t even accept that also he said that you can’t get a room if you aren’t 21 there yet he let us get a room and the guy booking wasn’t 21 so I guess he only cares about rules that make...

Horrible place! The clerk came in while I was asleep and took pictures of our stuff in our room went through our things then kicked us out saying our stuff was damaging their room when it was nothing but clothes. They will just walk in with no regards of privacy. First off being that I helped my husband work the night shift and he had to leave out again the next morning he threw a bag of clothes in the room in the floor. Being I worked all night I was asleep when he had to rush to work so therefore didn't pick the clothes up before they opened our door to get towels to wash. Not to mentions I didn't have time to put clean clothes that I had just washed in laundry baskets away in the dresser. They came in talking about our stuff was damaging the room attracting roaches when we didn't even have a dirty towel laying around not to mention all the reviews of roaches already at the hotel.. Even my husband's boss came by and said he didn't see anything wrong that it was just our stuff.
