The worst furniture buying experience in the world. I ordered a bedroom set at the end of April. I had it financed (highly recommended) and the lady told me that I wouldn’t be charged until my furniture arrived but also, that I’d be able to call the store any time to track it. None of this was true. I immediately got a bill for my furniture and every time I called them, they always had an excuse for why they couldn’t track my stuff. Every time I would go to the store, the manager was on the phone with an angry customer about the SAME THING! I read some of the reviews, too, and everything I read was actually happening in real time. I hated I didn’t check the reviews first! I got so nervous cause they were trying to charge me a 20% restocking fee to cancel everything.
After I got the bill, I called and told them about it. They agreed that it shouldn’t have been sent yet but instead of handling their mistake, they told me that I had to call the company to fix it. I stayed on the phone for HOURS with the financing company but they were able to stop payment.
Week 8 finally arrived and I still got no calls from the company even after calling every week and getting a lame excuse with assurance that I’d be contacted. So, that week I called them and my furniture was magically there. (I wonder if anyone would’ve ever called me lol). The furniture was delivered by some young guys that scratched up my walls and then asked me for a tip. I also asked them if people complain about this company and they said yes, all the time. Read moreI went to place an order August 2021. Staff in the store were very polite. However, as any furniture store it was quite obvious, my actual furniture needs did not matter. They tried to sell the entire store to me when I only needed a bed set. The paperwork process was not long and neither was the delivery waiting time. after purchasing and leaving the store, I was contacted two days before delivery to be told they did not have a Queen size bed and they would be delivering a King size without mattress. I rushed to go get mattress. The company sent to delivery guys, who showed up 2 hours earlier than what was communicated. They also, realized the packaging was missing screws once they begin assembling. They asked for a hammer to attempt to fix the chest of drawers and I have not been able to use two of the drawers since they left. I have called the company multiple times, and each time someone different answers the phone and provide me with a new plan. It has went from, they will contact the manufacturing company , to they are awaiting to hear from manufacturing, to they need a video via email and most recently, they promised to send someone out to look at it. I cleared my scheduled waited all day. No one showed up. All of that to say, the furniture is completely paid off but my drawers have not been fixed, 9 months later. Read moreI received excellent customer service at Thompson/Gallery Furniture Outlet. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked if I needed any help. The sales guy and manager listened to what I described I was looking for and they pointed me to what fit my requirements.
I went in looking for seating that was modular so I can rearrange it for different seating configurations and easy moving, made with performance fabric, and cushions that I can remove so I can remove them and wash for better cleaning and upkeep. They told me about the Modmax line by Ashley. Best of all, they were able to order the furniture for less than what the Ashley store would have charged!
