Initially the person at the office seemed a little short with me, but I was tired and antsy from the long drive I could have felt the situation wrong. Area didn't feel the safest, but also didn't feel unsafe if that makes sense. The hotel is kind of difficult to get to depending on where you're coming from. After a few times of returning, it was less confusing though. Towels really scratchy. Pillow uncomfortable and beds a little lumpy, but definitely not the worst I've slept on. Clock's digital letters were broken. Microwave button would stick and the plate inside wouldn't spin (so we had to half the time and flip the food before continuing). Wifi worked after several minutes of trying to connect, but speed was so slow to check most stuff we ended up just using our data. We got an ice bucket, but the only ice maker didn't work at all. Nothing to push to get ice or a tray to catch excess ice if there was some anyway. If you need utter darkness to sleep, might want to bring a LARGE blanket to cover the windows. The curtains only block so much. Even the cheap lighting outside peaks through around the edges. There wasn't a 'do not disturb' sign, which might have been a mistake and I didn't have the nerve to ask the office after our first encounter. So it kind of bothered me that while we were out people were coming in regardless. (If there was a way to tape a message to the door we would have). The space between the second bed and the wall (between the main area and the bathroom) is so tiny it's almost funny. Good luck not jostling the bed of your roommate in the middle of the night. For the air conditioning in the room you're able to cool it down if you're sitting and watching television, but If you're sleeping it gets warm no matter what you do (if you sleep in PJs and with covers). At least for me and my roomie. The fridge worked, but no tiny area for frozen stuff if you're use to that. The amount of channels they have on your TV service was surprisingly good. Water pressure was surprisingly good in my opinion as well. The walls were so thin we easily heard our neighbors having sex next door and when they had the TV on. Now, I just wanted to point these things out since not many people get into the smaller details. If you're trying to save money and you literally just need a place to crash this can save you quite a bit of money depending on where else you're looking, but just be aware of the things that might not be 'good' to you. Maybe bring your own towel and pillow for extra comfort? But if you can afford a better hotel, I would suggest going elsewhere. Now, I acknowledge we could have had a dud room, but I thought I'd cover everything bad, okay, and good in...
Read moreWE WERE ROBBED!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Due to last minute circumstances this was the only place that was available at a reason price Mardi Gras weekend. The location was sketchy as well. There is no lobby, all business is done thru a window. I asked to view the room first before paying but the guy said we couldnt do that. (FYI most hotels/motels allow u to do that). Against my better judgement we got a room. The room they initiallly gave me & my friend did not have a lock, smelled musty, had old dingy furniture that looked like something u would pick up on the side of a road, the dresser had a missing drawer, so we decided to just leave & get a refund but they said they couldnt give a refund but offered a "better" room. The new room was identical to the other one but did have a lock on the door. We left the room to enjoy our night in the French Quarter just to return to our key card not working. We went to the front office to get a new card & the same guy at the window said no one was checked into that room. we went back & forth because kept telling me that i must have the wrong motel, or i mustve checked in a different day, that they have no record of anyone in that room or under my name. I was about to call the police because our belongings were in the room so he FINALLY just issued me a new room key. When we walked in we found that our room had been ransacked & some of our valuable belongings were gone, including my friends wallet with extra cash!!! It was the middle of the night & we felt so unsafe so we QUICKLY packed & LEFT!!! We got to a well lit area & called the police to file a report. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! THEY ARE SHADY ASS CROOKS!!! i only gave them 1 star becuz google wont let me post my review...
Read moreMy husband and i needed a quick get away and we were on a budget. I'm more of a thrifty shopper trying to get more for little money..we are here in the second week of march..so the rates are great..i booked online however and payed about 230 ( downtown this price is for one night) for 3 nights. and it equaled to about 260 give or take with taxes.when i arrived one of the hotel staff members wasn't aware that i had a reservation and said the room was 60 a night for a king. the same room i book online..face palm! it was too late to cancel the online reservation. At first appearance of the motel i was concerned about safety and i asked the front desk attended he assured me that they do not have problems because they have security 24 hours..and he said but if you want,i will put your room near the front of the motel for you... The staff is helpful and the room was clean! bring your own toiletries. the room has a small fridge and microwave.. there is a market in walking distance.. the bus takes you downtown and a very nice man,who lives at the hotel will bring you home at night for 20 dollars..being from the suburbs, i love useing public transportation when on vacation! The staff was very helpful. with directions and any questions we had. free wifi, free parking.my husband and i had fun..it's not the Ritz carlton but it gets...
