We enjoyed the walk in the woods just the 2 of us. It was nice for a get away without our kids. The bed was comfortable. The lava cake was good too. But their was a lot of bad.We had to sign a liability form both my husband and I had to sign it Our remote didn't work when we got into the room so we called the front desk and they told us to come to the front desk and get some batteries so they gave us batteries out of another device they had. The tv only had "free apps on it like netflix, amazon prime there was no regular tv. Their were 3 spiders in our room only one was dead. Their was makeup or something in the shower on the wall I took a kleenex and wiped most of it off. When I turned on the water to take a shower the knob fell off in my hand because the screw was missing the drain thing too that catches the hair would not stay in the drain either. Their was a lock on the toilet paper thing in bathroom of our room which I have not seen but don't worry they were not changing it because their was poop on the bottom roll of toilet paper The Jacuzzi was very small my husband and I both struggled to fit in it together. Our bed was very noisy even when we just rolled over or sit down in bed. They only gave us like 4 towels and you had to take them to the pool with you if you used the pool. The pool was very cloudy and the lady was finishing "cleaning" the area when we went in at 10 pm for adult swim the shower had hairs in it and spiders and a hair bow and the matt was so gross looking. They have breakfast but you are only allowed 2 eggs which makes no sense to me eggs are so cheap. But they can make you omlettes or scrambled eggs, over easy, or over medium then a few topping things. They have a pancake machine but the 2nd morning we were there it had a thing that said replace the bag so my husband told the lady and she said she is waiting on the water to heat up for it. well we waited 30 minutes she fixed our eggs another couples at her breakfast then went back to the front desk because the person at the desk has to do the breakfast too I guess. They did have fruits that you could put on your pancakes but the strawberries that was in the fridge were moldy so were the blueberries then they had chocolate chips but they were not replacing them so you had to scrape the little bit that was left in the container. Also the first day they didn't turn on the juice machine so our choices was the milk and orange juice that was in the fridge or the soft drink machine that they only had small cups for so when the machine came on your drink splashed everywhere. Oh and the one night when we went to ask for our lava cakes that was included that lady was doing the laundry so I think they don't have enough staff or something. I Will not recommend this place to anyone I would tell them spend a little extra or book during special times when its cheaper at Blue gate in Shipshewana IN. Their suite is so much better and my husband could fit in their jacuzzi a lot better and so much more roomier. Oh and Blue gates breakfast is so...
Read moreUpdate, I have stayed here a few times for retreats and recently with a family member. Britney is still amazing always smiling Pleasant and helpful. Sadly there is also still the same woman there that I don't know her name that is the exact opposite. She never acknowledges guests from what I can tell and from personal experiences definitely not. She has spoken to me in rude tones every time I have had to talk to her with a question or checking in or out. While serving breakfast she never smiles, says good morning, hello or any interaction. Twice I have booked a room downstairs specifically stating that I am disabled and have been told I would get a downstairs room both times when I arrived at the hotel I was told that my room was switched and it was on the second floor. After complaining the first time I was told there was nothing else available except for room that had one double bed for two adults. I was informed there was a pull-out couch, that was very uncomfortable but had no other choice but to stay there since it was part of the retreat last year and I chalked it up to a mistake. The second time was recently 9/2025, I was staying with a family member. I booked my room for downstairs and had it not been for me calling prior to ask a question would not have been told until I got there that my room had been switched to a second floor room and told that if I got there early enough they might be able to get me into a room downstairs. After I got there they did get me the room. If I had been told prior that I was not getting a first floor room that would have been one thing but to be told that I was booking both times I was on the 1st floor and to be told after that I wasn't no longer seems like a mistake. I really want to like this hotel as it offers a loyalty program that could be a nice little getaway but certain things need to be mentioned. Now on a positive side it does have things about it that are nice, it's quiet, the outdoor property is nice to stroll through, there's a screened in back porch and though the breakfast is small is made to order fresh eggs or omelets with toast. There is an arcade table outside the dining area that is free. There are some amenities like a soda fountain but it is $2 a cup which is small unless you're on the Loyalty program which...
Read moreI reserved the Cabin via telephone for 2-nights. I checked in at 5:40 PM, left via Uber & checked into a resort at 7:52 PM (2-hrs; 12-min). I signed the check-in form, provided my credit card and went to the cabin. As we settled in, we noticed the rugs had not been swept/shaken, sand/dirt visible in entry rug & runner; coffee pot had a hot-chocolate pod left in it; stove-top was greasy; ice maker was not dispensing ice (OLD frozen ice layer in bottom); sofa pillows were flat/dirty & the leather sofa sectional was worn, lumpy and torn in places. The more I actually looked the more I found and was left wondering if the tub had been sanitized, were the bed sheets clean or had the bed been made to appear pretty. At this point, I did not want to stay and feel creepy-crawly all night. I reported this to the office and they followed me to the cabin, I pointed out the issues, she apologized and stated she would show the manager the following morning. I returned the next morning and spoke w/SAM the manager who said she could do nothing for me and informed me about the hospitality industry, which actually infuriated me. Sam actually highlighted "there will be no refunds after guests check in". She also suggested that I check rooms before actually checking in; I guess this is true, especially at the Brook Pointe Inn. Who does this? Another WARNING: Upon checking into Brook Pointe Inn READ what you are signing!!! It states, "I agree that if an attorney is retained to collect .... etc" Again, I admit I never read this but it's obviously written because people are experiencing the same treatment as I did. The owner never contacted me, I left multiple messages. The manager who spoke w/the owner agreed to refunded one night and the basic tone from "Sam" was that I am fortunate. I requested a FULL refund; $143.39 per night. The grounds, I must say, are beautiful; the interior accommodations are lacking. Cleanliness was my concern, PLEASE follow Sam's instruction, ask to see the room prior to checking in and READ Brook Pointe Inn's "NOTICE TO GUESTS" paragraph regarding refunds & attorney fees.
