Our room was only serviced 3 times in 2 weeks, even though we had our "please service this room" sign out and never touched the bathrooms, only changed the bedding once. They took our dirty towels but didn't replace them, emptied the garbage but didn't replace the liner, swept only parts of the floor (leaving our hairy dogs hair around all the edges of the room) and "mopped" by spraying a few squirts of a stinky solution on the floor and then spread the dirt around. The kids come out of the bath clean and by the time they walk to the bed their feet are already covered with dirt. They make the beds by placing a blanket between the sheets.... so if it bothers you to touch a hotel blanket you must remake your own bed. They will make it with sheets together if you request it over and over again and stand guard while they make the bed. There is a really nice kitchenette but it comes with absolutely nothing. No dish soap, no dish cloth or towel, no paper towels, no dishes. Just a sink mini microwave (that will hold a hot pocket but not a bag of steam veggies) and actually really nice mini fridge (with separate freezer door). We ended up buying a broom and cleaning our own room. There is no breakfast... but you can pay premium prices for items on a very tiny menu in the office store. The parking lot is rough. You almost need oversized tires to get through some of the pot holes. And there is not enough parking. If you came after 7pm parking is hard to find. If you come after 9pm... it is impossible and you must park down the road or in another parking lot. They do have cash only laundry machines (that seem to be mostly out of order) and the prices are pretty reasonable. There is no cell phone coverage inside the rooms and the internet kicks you out every time you leave the room. I will say it is surprisingly quiet. The majority of people staying here just want to sleep and get to work. We haven't heard any wild crazy parties or loud people running around outside at all hours of the night.

This hotel is outrageously expensive, has a ridiculous pet policy, and doesn't have any sort of amenities other than a tiny fridge and microwave. There's no gym, no pool, no complimentary meals at all, nothing to give any reason why it should cost you 150 dollars a night to stay there. In fact, the only people that should even consider staying here are military members on TDY that have no other choice. The pet policy is per animal, by weight, per night. They even have a sign in the lobby that says they tolerate animals, but aren't at all pet friendly. I had to stay here for two months, and in that time the amount of money I spent was the equivalent to the mortgage of a 1.4 million dollar house, right around 6000 dollars per month. That's the nightly rate with one medium sized dog. Not including buying meals. I highly recommend looking at other hotels in the area and if you are military PCS'ing in, contact the TLA office before you get there and see what your options are. If you're a civilian visiting, find an Airbnb or equivalent in the area and save yourself an extra couple thousand dollars to spend on something other than this inn. To top it all off, my dog died during my stay. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The only redeeming feature here is the little homemade cookies they sell at the shop.

Several problems. 1. Bed is made incorrectly. No top sheet. See pictures. Bottom sheet, then just a blanket on the skin. Then a sheet on top of the blanket. The manager insisted this is fine. She said, "There is no law on how to make a bed." Rude! Bizarre. 2. Manager Dezzri is unprofessional and untrained. While her staff was in blue polo uniform, she was wearing a giant baggy t-shirt with a cat on it. She was rude and dismissive of me. Also, rude to a PV2 in line. Heartbreaking to treat young, inexperienced soldiers that way. His problem was egregious. They overcharged his personal card $1200 and would not refund it. I advised him to call ACS, his credit card company, to contest the charge, and file an IG complaint. 3. The cost for me was 163 plus tax per night for leisure. I can stay at Pagota in Honolulu for the same price. 4. No dishes, silverware, cups, or coffee supplies. Just a lone coffee maker. Useless. 5. No complementary coffee! $2 in lobby only. Tasted good though. My husband is retired 06 and he says DVQ is different. The beds are made correctly.

First thing that needs to be said before you read any of the reviews is have expectation management, understand the purpose of your trip and this hotel.

BLUF: It’s a practical and functional military hotel that really wasn’t designed around tourism that works hard to keep up to date.

This inn/Hotel is just a reflection of the Base that surrounds it beat up, dated, and needing infrastructure repair. It has the feel and look that time is the only thing that has changed over the years, however it does what it is supposed to do, provide security and protection so you can equip, conduct daily activities and rest.

This is not a tourist hotel that you would picture in a typical Hawaiian vacation movie, (Don’t let anyone sell you that) but it gets the job done. The hotel has its corks, AC kind of loud, bed sheets on top, that’s a new strange one for me, real chicken alarm clock at 0400 LOL, not a large staff but friendly enough so overall this hotel has no real show stoppers. However, don’t book your “romantic honeymoon getaway” here, your wife/significant other will be pissed, you don’t want this to be the start of the reflection of your marriage it could end short with regret spend a little money and go to a real Hawaiian hotel.

If you want to do any tourist stuff it is convenient but you will need a form of transportation however if you are just looking for a hub to lay your head down you found the place. The PX, commissary and gym are within a short walking distance but again tourist stuff will need to be planned with transportation, your not walking out the door and on to the beach or ocean hopefully you noticed that when you saw the map. If you are looking to do those things and not have to deal with the high volume of traffic, people and tourism you may have found the right place with a little bit of travel. You are far enough away and being on base you are in a secure and familiar location so you can enjoy that aspect of your trip without worry, especially if you travel with family but you better have activities planned or you be doomed and your children will hate you because there is nothing to do here without some sort of game plan before you arrive, unlike Honolulu or further South. Even the massive pool next door looks like it’s been closed for years when you walk by, not sure what’s up with that.

This is a great hub to plan out of, keep you and your things secured, find food and supplies at on post/reasonable prices, park your car without extra fees or stress, have a descant size room with a kitchen that you can conduct activities and play games with the family out of and with a little planning and travel be in a great location for day trips however if you want to sacrifice a little security, and money and want a hotel with all the “bells and whistles”, updated accommodations, plenty of staff, beach and night activities right outside your door, shopping malls, and everything within walking distance this a hard pass.

Perfect example: Even now as I”m writing this at the hotel we are on a planned 8 hour power outage. This is outside of the hotels control. But, I ask who still does stuff like that now days outside third-world countries unless you’re practicing some kind of emergency preparedness event. Of course I knew nothing about it when I booked the place also keep in mind its Saturday night, this would never happen at a tourist hotel, people would get fired, but we are on base and this is just one of the challenges you may come across so you have to be flexible, travel with a game plan, and may have to revisit your purpose for your trip if you want...

If you are PCSing here and looking for a hotel, do not…I REPEAT…DO NOT book the Inn at Schofield! I have never in my life had such a horrible experience with a hotel! When we first got to the island we were staying at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel in downtown Waikiki and absolutely loved it! We stayed there for about 30 days before moving to the Inn at Schofield…HUGE MISTAKE! The only reason we moved was because of the traffic and my husband’s commute. Had we known how they were going to nickel and dime us to death, we would have just stayed at Queen Kapiolani & the hubby would have dealt with the traffic until our housing was ready! Their nightly rate is cheaper but you definitely get what you pay for…dirty & infested with roaches (they had to come spray our room on several different occasions due to the roaches). They also charge an additional $50 per night for pets to stay there on top of the $250 pet deposit which was supposed to be refunded to us a week after checkout…which never happened! Now I get that we knew about the additional $50 per night before checking in and yes we sucked it up and agreed to it thinking it would make the Hubby’s commute easier however they did not tell us that they charge for every single towel, hand towel, wash cloth, and bed linens that they claim you damage! Yes there is a clause in the contract that says you will pay for any damaged hotel property upon check out, but who in the world would think that you would be charged for soiled linen that is part of the operating cost of a hotel? I have never in my life had a hotel charge for soiled linens! On top of the $1600 we paid out of pocket for our dogs to stay there, they kept our $250 pet deposit even though there was absolutely no pet damages and they charged our card an additional $185! It took them 2 weeks to provide us with a detailed statement of the charges and sure enough everything on there is so called “damaged linens”! How in the world can a family of 4 damaged $435 worth of linens in a 30 day stay? They literally charged us $10 per towel! Hawaii is known for its red clay mud & families who first get here are going to the beach every other day not to mention the hotel floors were dirty, so it should be expected that WHITE linens will get dirty! Washing our feet alone from walking on the dirty carpet in the room would turn one washcloth black I swear! Anyways…not here to debate what we should have known or what we should have done…just here to save someone else the trouble of staying at a place that is blatantly price gauging & taking advantage of soldiers & their families as well as the TLA program. We already have enough on us with the stress of the move but to have to deal with a hotel that is supposed to support the military community making outrageous charges just to get extra money off of us is ridiculous! P.S…I have requested all of the linens that we do called damaged since we were forced to pay for them…I mean if we paid $435 for them they should be ours now right? No one will respond as to when we can pick those up! I am more than positive that they bleached them like any normal hotel and are...
