I don’t want anyone to go through what I did. I stayed for 4 nights. The first room (room 212) I stayed in had food crumbs on the bedsheets. So the next day I decided to switch rooms. Next room (room 338) smelled like cigarettes and had cigarette burns on the chair. I then switched to the third room (room 209), which smelled musty and like syrup. The bed had pubic hair on the sheets and the bathroom floor had hair aswell and other unsweeped remainings. The bathroom tub needed some updates. I was too grossed out to get in the tub. Floor could’ve been cleaned properly aswell. I couldn’t keep switching rooms because each time I did it kept getting worse. Never been disgusted by a hotel. Felt more like a motel. The last two nights room were by the freeway so I barely slept at all with all the loud noises. So if you have no choice to stay at this hotel, at least stay away from rooms facing bart/freeway to get a good night sleep. However, you probably still won’t since the walls are paper thin and I could here the room by me. This is where it gets worse. So, on the last day my kids spilled a drink on the bedsheets. I quickly removed the sheet before it reached to the mattress, which it didn’t. I swear to you it didn’t and thoroughly checked! My husband let the cleaners know that our children spilled a drink to just let them know and explained the situation so they don’t think something else. Couple hours later I received an email saying I was charged $250 for damage because someone “peed” on the bed. I talked to the manager assistant and she said that my husband told the cleaner my kid peed on it, which he did not say that! I told the asst manager the cleaner must have misunderstood my husband. But she didn't seem to care. Then I check my bank statement and it seems like i was double charged $250 twice! I was charged that once I checked in and when I checked out! Umm what? I understand if it soaked in the mattress but it didn’t! Like don’t bedsheets get washed after every guest? How is that damaged? Why is that a big deal? But I guess they really don’t wash the sheets and now unfortunately for them they are forced too wash the sheets. Oh yea. Parking is like $18 a day! Ridiculous. I can go on but let me stop here. If you do decide to stay here, good luck. At least, front desk people were nice. Only good thing I can say. But what good does that do, if i am still being scammed by the...

When it came time for our mid-morning shuttle ride to the nearby Oakland Int'l Airport, the front desk staff member who drove us out to the Southwest Airlines terminal went above and beyond the call of duty. My wife was flying out with several large suitcases and I was staying in the area and renting a car from the car rental center several miles away. The plan was for us to go to the terminal and then I would take the rental car shuttle back to the rental center. On the way over to the airport, my wife mentioned to the front desk member now turned shuttle driver something about how we were splitting up at this point of our trip. When she heard this, she said it would be no problem taking me to the car rental center after dropping off the other guests at the airport. That, in and of itself was pretty special! But, when I got out to help my wife with her multiple heavy bags, our favorite Marriott's employee said that it would be okay if I wanted to help my wife take her bags to the baggage check in desk and that she would happily wait for me to return. What? Once I confirmed what I heard, I hustled off with my wife's bags in tow, went inside, got her bags tagged, lifted them up on the scale, confirmed everything was cool, (kissed my wife good-bye) and sprinted back to the shuttle bus where, as promised, the super heroine staffer/driver was patiently waiting for me. The whole thing probably took 5-7 minutes, which in the transportation business is a long time, but she still did that for me. Then, as originally offered, she still got me over to the car rental center without having to wait for the rental center's shuttle... Wow!! Amazing!! (Unfortunately, I failed to get the young lady's name! But, if you find out who was driving the 10:30am shuttle to the airport that Saturday, October 29th, then you've found your star employee! She...
Read moreBefore booking a room here, we called to ask if breakfast was included and were told by a woman on the phone that it was. Then after we arrived, we found out that breakfast is for purchase at their Bistro. Had we had accurate information, we would've stayed elsewhere that includes breakfast in their rate. To their credit, the breakfast bowl ($17) was tasty! No free coffee in their lobby either, though they do have ice water infused with fruit. Parking is an extra $18/day, fyi. Spots aren't easy to come by at night, as there are multiple trucks with trailers and vans (including their own Marriott airport shuttle) parked sideways, blocking 3-5 spots each. People were parking in fire lane spots and circling the lot between 11-12 P.M. one night because there weren't enough spaces available.
The room was fine, though it felt a bit small with the couch in the corner. Usually, hotel bathrooms have big sink counters and bright lighting, but this one had a small sink area, separate from the shower/toilet room and was not bright enough for good makeup application. There wasn't any other mirrors in the room, so you can't do makeup at a desk or near a window either. We stayed on the pool side of the building and I found it to be dark during the day - there were 4 lamps posted around the sides of the room, but nothing overhead in the center and the awning blocked the sun from coming in the window.
One morning, we woke up and the shower was full of what looked like dirt and tree bark. I was bewildered! Then a few minutes later, the room on the floor above us turned on their shower and OUR shower started filling with soapy water! So, there are some worrisome plumbing issues. The front desk sent someone immediately and he put chemicals down the drain to fix the clog and we were told they'd deep clean the shower or transfer us to another room.
On Saturday night, there was a loud party going on. We could hear music and talking on our floor. At first, we thought it was coming from the pool or outside. It was between 12-1 A.M. when we were going to sleep.
The pool and fitness center looked nice. If you can get a room at a good price, it will serve its purpose as a place to sleep, but I would personally stay...
