HegenBurger — Restaurant in Oakland

Found Hegenburgers back in the early 1990s. What hooked me was the double hegenburger with cheese and bacon. You let the grease drip on your fries as you eat the burger & clean it up when you finish the basket off. Johnny was the original owner. He was a great guy and loved to chat with him. His son took over for a while, but they eventually sold it off and moved on. The cool thing, back in the day, was you would rub elbows with some of the Warriors and Raiders that would stop in for lunch. Excellent example of when not to judge a book by its cover. It's under new ownership just as of recently, however, they appear to be keeping true to the legacy of the location with full respect to the classic name that is HegenBurger. A juicy 1/3 burger with cheese combo will run you $15 and it comes with a generous portion of fries and a small (16-20oz?) fountain drink. It's worth the wait, so if you don't have 10-15mins to wait then plan ahead and call it in to lessen your wait or simply go another time. I seen some good reviews on this place and decided to give it a shot... My burger was very dry the curly fries was overly salted. I mean come on how can you screw up on a simple cheeseburger???? And I was very hungry while eating this burger and was still not satisfied and I'm not a picky person at all I mean I can almost eat whatever when I'm hungry and be satisfied with whatever touching my taste buds smh... Customer service was nice and pleasant and all but I'm not there for the customer service! I came to eat and I was not satisfied with this place.
