What a joke! We stayed at this location 7 years ago, and our recent experience was nothing like our recent visit. We travel quite frequently, and stay in a variety of 5 star hotels throughout the U.S.. Here are a few highlights of what you get for $159.00/night: The room had holes in the carpet, the carpet was disgusting, and the floor was sticky. The fan in the bathroom did not work and it was filled with dirt, dust and mold/mildew. The shower leaked. There was notable water damage on the ceiling. The coffee maker was broken, and once replaced they didn't provide us with coffee supplies. We had to ask for more towels. They provided us with the extra towels on the first day and didn't do so for the remainder of our visit. They didn't replenish coffee supplies or toiletries. The ice machine on our floor was broken. The floor above us also had a broken ice machine. We had barking dogs 3 rooms down the hall at 7:30 in the morning. When bringing this to the attention of the front desk personnel, her response was that the owners went out for breakfast and should be back shortly and they were notified. When we went back to our room later that morning, the dogs were in the hallway with someone sitting in 1 of 2 chairs which remained in the hall for the remainder of our visit. The food was TERRIBLE and way over priced. The fitness room had hand sanitizer that expired in 2022. Did I mention that my background is in healthcare?
We were there for a conference and heard several other people sharing their stories about the bad experiences they had, so our situations were not unique, but rather quite common. But for us, the icing on the cake came when on the morning of our departure, while I was attending an educational session downstairs, my husband brought our luggage down to our car. When leaving the room, about 3 doors down, the cleaning attendant saw my husband and he advised the attendant that he would be coming back shortly. About 45 minutes later, when we went back up to our room, we were both shocked when we saw that the cleaning attendant had completely turned over our room for the next guest arrival. I was livid! Not only was this done prior to our checking out, but I was not even able to go to the bathroom or touch up my make-up at this point. The cleaning attendant not only didn't speak English, but he didn't understand it either. He thought we were checking out when he saw the luggage leaving the room. He took it upon himself to clean the room assuming we had checked out. I promptly went downstairs and advised the clerk at the desk that I was mad. We checked out. What choice did we have? She offered to have the Manager contact me. I agreed. As of this writing, no one has reached out to us. I'm not one bit surprised.
Bottom line: This is not a place that I would recommend to anyone. Management and staff do NOT understand the meaning of hospitality, customer service or accountability.
I'd give them a ZERO rating out of ten if it...
Read moreAs a Hilton Diamond for many years, I've seen some of the best of Hilton, and plenty of the worst in the USA and all parts of the world.||This Hilton is about as charming as any of the lower brands .... a "Hampton on a low dose of steroids"||I got an email informing me that I would be getting an upgrade once arriving, but upon check in with Ashley, she put on the "stupid act" and all I received was what I booked; a two queen room ..... more of a closet in size.|They don't hold Diamonds in any type of esteem here, and I'm sure they were too lazy to part with a nicer room.||The property does have a nice pool area, nothing exotic, but they also have bar service out there.||As for the rooms, they are quite small in size, likely 250 sq ft or so, although I didn't measure the actual size.||Carpet was grungy and full of pulls .... likely not shampooed in a long time. As a Diamond with many stays, you know when a carpet is "crisp" and clean. This one was long past due for a cleaning. The furniture is slightly beat up, with scratches and drawers that don't close.||The wall paper is peeling off the wall, in the room they gave me, indicating that building maintenance here is rare and far between.||A big issue with these rooms is the bed quality, or lack thereof. My mattress was so soft, I sunk deep into it. Apparently the mattresses are past their prime and need replacement. The quality of the feather pillows was suspect as well. They provide very little support (I need two for a good sleep), and my head sunk right in.||The vanity in the bathroom was positioned quite low (handicap height), so you really had to bend to brush your teeth. |The water pressure in the shower was quite low; likely using those irritating water restricters that help their bottom line and then they pretend you are saving the planet by going along with it. You'll just have to take a longer shower, in that case.||Breakfast was included with my stay, as a Diamond, but don't expect culinary excellence. You'll get very watery scrambled eggs, overcooked bacon or some non-descript sausage look-a-like and a very limited assortment of fruits, cereals, oatmeal and warm items. TRUST ME, you don't ever want to pay for it, and that's why Hampton Inn gives it for free .... because it is just that lame.||The last point that I'll make is that it is super noisy on one side of the hotel where the Turnpike is located. You'll hear all of the truck traffic, all night long. Make sure you tell them that you want to be away from the noise of the highway, or you will be tossing and turning without your earplugs.||Not a lot of choices in Ocala, but good luck and stay elsewhere if possible.||Safe and...
Read moreWe have been staying at the Hilton Ocala since 2009!!! I've always loved this hotel and the staff UNTIL TODAY!! The Director of Front Office Operations (Bill Hayes) is VERY condescending & useless!!! Mr Hayes did NOT bother to look at how many times we have stayed at this hotel. Granted my status has changed (gotten lower) since nobody could travel during Covid!! But again, Mr Hayes (who the front desk girl, Erin, claimed Mr Hayes wasnt in the building when he actually was)! From the second we walked in, I had to interrupt the 2 front desk girls conversation (laughing) to ask for a luggage kart! Then Erin likes to repeat her excuses as to why there are NO luggage karts over & over! Erin told me at least 5 times that they had MANY check ins prior to mine!! So that would mean they had SEVERAL check ins prior to 3:20pm! That would also mean the floor I asked for & (always stay on) when booking this hotel (with a Hilton agent via the phone bc their Hilton Site would not work) never gave me the option of adding breakfast!! When I asked about the breakfast that usually comes with our room, I was told I did not book it adding breakfast! OK, well if the Hilton representative would have asked, I would have agreed to adding the whole $30 for breakfast for two! I love seeing Ann during EVERY trip to Ocala, FL! We DEFINITELY miss Nathan too. After checking in & riding the WEED STENCHED elevator to the 7th floor (which is NOT what I requested when BOOKING WITH A HILTON RESPESENTATIVE) I called Hilton Corporate who in turn called the hotel directly!! Oh and guess what Bill Hayes WAS in the building!! Mr. Hayes wasn't concerned one bit about the loyalty we have had to Hilton Brand! Nor did he didnt bother to check our history or even ACT like he cared!! After our conversation Mr Hayes couldn't hang up fast enough! He actually hung up on me!! AVOID THE HILTON OCALA!!! I would normally recommend this Hitlon in Ocala, FL but not anymore!!! MARRIOTT at least pretends they care!! Mr Hayes has absolutely zero respect or a personality!! He DOES have an attitude though!! It's clear this is ONLY a job to Mr. Hayes! The Equestrian Hotel is 7 mins from this Hilton!! We have a stayed there several times and BELIEVE me the service, attitide and staff blows this Hilton Ocala away!!! I will also be adding this review to my TripAdvisor account so nobody feels like a lowlife NOBODY like Mr Hayes made me feel...
