Courteous and competent staff. It probably starts with good management. Dan, the manager, runs the best hotel atmosphere I've ever experienced. And, it's all based on the staff. They must not have turnover because it feels good to see the same faces every trip.
Good lobby space with a variety of seating options, ideal for business meetings.
The complimentary breakfast is superior, far superior, to other free-breakfast hotels. Embassy Suites also has a complimentary evening happy hour. There's no lunch service and not much nearby.
The rooms are spacious with a separate living, office, and kitchenette area.
The room furniture was heavily scratched and in need of upgrade. Electrical was weird. The light switch to the bedroom was blanked, so you have to stumble through the dark to get to the bed lamp.
Bed was comfortable with convenient phone-charger lamps on the nightstand.
Cheers like atmosphere. Where Brenden always knows your name (because we have to stay here so often). He always takes care of us at happy hour. Joann kows where to find me on the corner couch in the library (GREAT LIBRARY) where she brings me the same dinner every time, the Southwest Salad Bowl. This duo makes us feel like we're almost home.
Carolyn has a warm smile and a heartfelt "Good morning" as we go in for the best free hotel breakfast anywhere. It's kind of their claim to fame at Embassy Suites - made to order omelets every morning.

Read moreThe amenities are nice. The free breakfast is nicely done and there are hors d'oeuvres in the afternoon. The shuttle service is nice to have, but don't count on it all of the time. I ran in a 5K. I took Uber in the morning because it wasn't time for the shuttles to start running. When the race was over I called for the shuttle. They said one would be coming right out. Then after waiting awhile I called back and was told that Wheeler Park was outside the three range. I was left to find my own way home. I entered my destination into my GPS and found that I was 3.1 miles from the hotel. So I started walking. Obviously it didn't take long to get within range. I called a colleague (I was attending a convention) and let him know that I would be walking and why. Minutes later I received a call from the hotel checking on my progress and they said they would send the shuttle. I told them my location, but my driver went to the wrong street. I was at sw 6th and Walker. He went to NE 6th and Walker. This is partly my truck fault because I didn't know that there was more than one 6th Street. But during the several times I spoke with the hotel, including getting them that vital information, I still waited more than 20 minutes by a vacant lot. If I had just continued walking I would have arrived at the hotel within 4 minutes of the time I eventually arrived in...
Read moreIf you are business traveler staying in OKC, this is where you want to stay.
Location - Access to the city is very good, you are right next to 235 / 40, and most importantly it is easy and quick to get on and off the highway (unlike the hotels downtown like the Sheraton, Skirvin, etc.). You are also very close to all the better dinning spots in OKC, many of which are just east of town or in bricktown, which this place is very close to.
Rooms - are very quite generally, they are suites like all Embassy Suites, and they have a nice desk for work. Rooms feel slightly dated but not bad at all.
Breakfast - is free and as legendary as at most all Embassy Suites. Full Omelet bar and the works. Basically the best free breakfast I know of at a GSA eligible hotel.
Parking - plentiful 'complimentary' parking surrounds the hotel so it is very easy, no going in and out of gates or any of that non-sense.
Sure there are some arguably fancier hotels in town (Skirvin, Omni, Renaissance Bricktown, and probably others), but for get in, get out business trips this can't be beat. It is also much nicer/ better than anything over on Meridian Ave (don't stay over there in general, it is really not any further to stay here vs there, even to get to...
