The entire building stunk of marijuana, from the front desk all the way to the third floor! They expect children to stay here, and see no problem with that?! This was our first impression, the very first thing we noticed. The smell was incredibly strong, and obviously marijuana. The smell was constant, from the time we first walked into the building, to when we left the place and went home. Curiously though, there was no smoke present on any of the floors. Perhaps they do some gardening when business is slow...
There is a sign posted by the front desk, which states that kids stay free. Which was apparently not true. When I asked about it, the guy looked at the sign for like 45 seconds before saying "I think probably a fee." That sign shouldn't be posted then! The deposit for our room was $50, which was odd because ..... One lady had to pay $60 (this lady was also African American) (I hope that's the respectful way to say that, apologies if it's not!), which I thought was kind of suspicious that her fee was SO much more than others!) , and another paid $40 (a white lady). So they just get to decide what your deposit will be at check in. I think a deposit on the rooms are great, but why aren't they one flat rate fee? Why are the employee's choosing what you have to pay? That doesn't seem right at all. They also have you pay the deposit, and then will charge you extra for missing or broken items. Isn't that what the deposit is for? Also, in order to get clean wash rags and towels, I first had to bring the used ones down to the front desk first. I stayed on the third floor and I had to go down to the front desk to ask for clean towels and rags. Then had to go right back up to my room to get the dirty ones, back down to exchange them, and back upstairs again. Not once during our stay, did a housekeeper come into our room. Not once. Why am I having to gather the towels and such myself? Don't the housekeepers do that? I saw them cleaning other rooms, but never ours. We stayed for 5 nights! Our sheets and pillow cases weren't changed. We slept in the same sheets the entire stay! We ran out of toilet paper at one point, and had to ask for more!
Not to mention one of the daytime employees started arguing and yelling back and forth with some other guest who was yelling and screaming back, one early afternoon! I heard her yell about her door being locked by the guy, with her possesions and her dog inside! He kept telling her she had to leave but refused to let her into the room to get her stuff! I'm sure he might have had a good reason for kicking her out, but handled the situation so disrespectfully and was VERY unprofessional! Everyone on our floor heard the entire fight. Eventually I think she did get back into the room, and later saw her outside waiting for someone. Whoever was supposed to pick her up, never showed. I also watched her use drugs while waiting, on the bench outside of the entry! The employee could see it, and didn't do anything about it. She was there the whole day and night, waiting for someone to pick her up. That could have potentially become a very dangerous situation. The employee didn't care, as long as she wasn't inside the building! I was shocked!
I would not recommend this place to anyone, ever. Yeah, the price was cheap and that was nice, but that was the only thing that was nice about it! Oh well, other than getting our deposit back when we checked out. Which we couldn't get until an employee came up to our room, went inside to inspect it, while we waited out in the hall. We stood there waiting with our luggage and all. It felt so awkward, waiting there so he could check the room.
Hated this place. I would put zero out of five...
Read moreMy check in experience really was wonderful. I was tired, and super disheveled. Long day of driving and running around. My roomie and I were trying to get our two dogs inside. I know I looked crazy when we walked in but I was still greeted by a very kind, gently eager to help, receptionist with a genuinely kind smile (Don't see those much anymore) which really eased my tension about being in a new place. Also, you would never know this was a pet friendly property unless you saw the dogs around. No smells or evidence of puppies. :)
The property is super clean. There's a peaceful, safe feeling to the hotel, and the surrounding area in general. The hotel itself is on the highway, super easy access to literally everything, but it's kind of nudged jusssssst far away from the hurriedness of the city, to feel like you're closer to home in the country-than a concrete jungle, Lots of rolling green hills and grass.
Really cool rooms, too. :) The AC was set to the perfect temperature when we came in. There's a full sink, great sized fridge, microwave, super modern little table set. Looks like it was recently remodeled or updated, either that or the house keeping is crazy good, lol, or both. The price is unbelievable for the level of comfy you get here.
UPDATE~ My family and I ended up getting stuck in Oklahoma for a longer period of time than we intended. This hotel has been INCREDIBLE. We are STILL here , set to leave soon, but I have to tell you, this hotel will stay with me in memory. It's been so amazing. Everything I initially wrote was SPOT ON, but what I didn't know about was the staff. :) The woman I mentioned in my initial post is an incredible woman. She smiles EVERYTIME I see her. XD The managers were so sweet on the 4th of July, they walked lovingly together and watched the fireworks on a grass field, just outside the rooms. It's incredibly peaceful here. I had to call an ambulance to come take me to the ER when my back went TOTALLY out and the woman that I call "Smiley" came out, just to make sure that I was okay.
Read moreHalls smell bad. Covers had stains on them and so did the bath towels and the towel that's like a floor mat was so disgusting and stained !!!The beds had hair on it. I let the front desk know and he said it could be when they wash them it could have just stayed on . I told him about the towels being stained and the cover too and I asked him how and what would he think if that was him staying somewhere where things looked like that. I asked him if they bleached the towels he said yes. I told him if they changed the covers when they cleaned or just fix the beds with the same cover. He said they change the sheets. That he would let the manager know. and they said they would give me another room. The room smelled musty and like cigarettes. Seems like the floors weren't mopped because I used a towel to put on the floor in the restroom after showering and I wiped the floor with it after to clean any hair and the towel was dirty. If the floors were mopped the towel would not have been dirty brownish/ blackish , like as if it had not been mopped in a good while. I will say the man at the front desk was really nice and so was the manager/ owner, not sure who he was, but he was kind as well. The cleaning ladies were so sweet and kind , friendly and helpful. When I moved to another room I asked the cleaning lady because she was right by the room if these covers were clean because these too had stains. She said yes they were clean that they get washed but the stains don't come out. She offered to get me some clean fresh sheets. We left our room for the day. When we came back at night , the 2 queen beds had brand new top covers. It was disappointing. Once again, the people were great, just sad that the rooms...
