Gardens Resort — Hotel in Orlando

I’ve stayed here before and thought that it was a great place to stay. Granted that was around 10 years ago. Sadly, they have took a nosedive downhill since then. My last review was October 2010 and I gave them 5 stars. ||The area isn’t nice. I didn’t feel safe. Close to the entrance they have an old rundown building that is clearly closed and boarded up. My first night I stayed there I saw several people jump the large cement fence and were clearly having a party in the back part of that building. Though I didn’t feel threatened it didn’t make me feel comfortable either. They used to have a small security check point to help keep people out, but I only saw it staffed on the weekend nights when the club next door was busy. Otherwise it sat empty. As far as the grounds and building it doesn’t look like much has been done. The luggage carts are old and rusted. The washer and dryer were not looking good so I didn’t use them our of fear it would damage my clothes. ||As far as the inside it’s the same furniture that was there 10 years ago and no clue how old it was then. The couch had zero comfort left and needs to be replaced! The TVs are old and dated. I travel with HDMI that I like to plug in and the TV is so old it has the red, yellow, and white plugs like we had in the 90s. I guess the TV and cable worked but they need replaced.||The Wi-Fi didn’t work. Reading past reviews this is not a new issue and they don’t seem to be in a hurry or even care to fix this issue. Thank goodness my cell phone got a decent signal, but if you need or rely on Wi-Fi you can’t stay here! ||Overall the room itself was nice and spacious. The bathroom jacuzzi is a nice feature and worked great. The bath towels were a joke. Small and low quality. ||I have a hard time recommending this location to anyone. If you have a family I would not stay here. I don’t feel that it’s a safe or family friendly location and that has nothing to do with the GLBT bar next door, but the overall neighborhood. ||If you are here to enjoy the Parliament House next door and need a place to sleep or relax and don’t want or expect much, then it might be okay. With a little bit of TLC this could be a great place...

How has this building not been torn down yet? It's infested with drugs, drug addicts. Insects, mold, years and years worth of filth left there by other human beings that has NEVER been properly cleaned- let alone, cleaned in general. Todd- the guy that manages the place and stays there for free; he is absolutely miserable. Rude, judgmental, and honestly a bigot who just takes advantage of the property still standing in order to live for free- despite what happens to people there or simply what happens there. Police watch the place 24/7.... and no... not to make sure that anyone is sage there, they truly could care less about your safety- they just want to pull people over and add to their ridiculously expensive bill that they have footed to the city for their on going drug investigation that has been conducted for YEARS there. And Todd himself is quick to call the police on people as well- and again... not because he cares, or is trying to keep anyone safe- simply to get them in trouble, and honestly he has probably been instructed to do so by law enforcement anyways, highly likely. Elevator doesn't work, wifi doesn't work, most appliances don't work, furniture hasn't been replaced EVER- same things in the units that have been there since they opened. HUGE sink hole directly behind the complex that has only gotten larger and larger over the years. The lake is honestly nice. The sunsets and the view that you get within the area directly behind the complex or on the back patios is stunning. Other than that...... this place is a...

Always a pleasant stay. Beginning to hate the deceitful, lying, crooked owners! They are just out for $$$ and will say or do anything to get all they can! Never built anything as promised past the first building! No plans to do so either. Makes property very unappealing. Sad situation. Not exactly a great area either. Sorry, as are many others, that I actually invested in this web of disgusting lies and greed! For this reason, I will never buy another time share! Thanks for installing so much trust in us! (This is sarcasm!) By the way, what all they describe does not exist! I'll tell you exactly what is on this property; 1 building containing 1 and 2 bedroom units, a laundry room with 1 washer and 1 dryer and a drink machine... think that's it! Oh, lots of resident cats but you're not allowed to bring your own TAME pet! Love the staff, though! Can't find pics but that wouldn't really change things! Don't buy into this! May be sold out from under you before you know it!! Very sneaky, secretive family of owners... literally mostly family!!...
