I stayed at the Alpine Inn of Pagosa Springs with my brother for two nights in late February, 2024. The inn keepers and owners, Sophie and John were friendly, warm, personable, and did a great job at keeping their entire establishment very clean for their guests. I realized quickly that the owners of this cute family-owned inn were very interested in providing outstanding service to their guests. A generous, well-stocked continental breakfast was provided every morning in the breakfast area, along with coffee makers, cable television, and free WiFi internet service in every room. John was very diligent about refilling the coffee maker in the breakfast area before it became empty each morning, indicating a true desire in keeping his guests happy. I can’t say enough about the exceptional service and the warmth of the inn keepers of this quaint little inn, it was truly a pleasure staying here. If I ever find myself lucky enough to come back to Pagosa Springs, I’ll be staying with these folks. Rick Dumas, from Connecticut

Edit. I have no idea who this guy is talking about. But it was my 86 yo grandma and my 31 yo wife. Looks like instead of doing anything to change and make it better. They are making excuses. So sad. Again $130 a night. Things are taped together. Maybe while you're working on making updating the place like you claim. Don't charge as much as a 4 star hotel. Go look at the rest of the bad reviews. Nothing but excuses and nothing gets fixed. We've been on a road trip for 2 months now. We've only stayed at hotels. These were easily and by far the worst beds we slept in. I'm posting this like 5 days after we stayed because it came up in conversation how bad beds were. We all agreed we would have rather slept in the car then spend $130 there. I still feel like my back isn't the same since then. Also the Air conditioner was held together with duct tape. We got 1 little bag thing (not even the tiny bottles) of body wash to share between 3 people.

On our motorcycle trip from Richmond, Virginia to the Grand Canyon and back, we are enjoying the smaller, non-corporate family owned hotels. The Alpine Inn of Pagosa Springs is just that. We arrived early and Sophie was eager to accommodate. With a smile, she had us booked into #213 in a jiffy. The room was clean and bright after opening the curtains. The balcony is tiny, but a balcony nonetheless, overlooking the parking lot, mountains off to the distant. Bathroom was clean, with hot water and strong pressure. In the shower. The beds were a tad springy, soft. Pillows about medium. A continental breakfast is offered with breads, oatmeal, cereals and juices. The location was great. We needed to do laundry and hit Walmart and we were close to both. If you are looking for fancy, the Alpine Inn probably won't do it for you. If you want a great place to sleep, in a great location, for a decent price, this is it!

We stayed here on June 6th and I have to say this was the worst experience we encountered on our 10 day trip. There was an issue with the water at the hotel and the near by area. So we could not flush the toilets or take a shower. It was not fixed for our entire stay. The management did go get some bottle water however this did not last very long and it was not a great solution. We have been home for over a week and I thought we might hear from the owners. Not a word. They did however did not have an issue keeping our full payment for the room. The hotel is dated and a tad over priced. I guess we are more disappointed that no one during or after our stay reached out to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. I do motorcycle tours a couple of times a year to Colorado and I will assure you that the Alpine Inn In Pagosa Springs will not be on the agenda.

On a positive note the Coyote bar that sits right behind the hotel, went above and beyond to make our meal a good one even with this water situation. Great food, great service and they understand what good customer service looks like.

**July 6th, As you can see from the owners response, (2 weeks later) it must have been all of our faults and they felt the need to mention we left too much water in the rooms. Give me a break. As you can see the nearby business was able to adjust and make our stay a good one. After seeing the owners response I now understand why there were so many rooms available and that the rooms were not in the best of shape. Good job at pushing back and laying blame with our group. If not for our 4 rooms being booked you would have been vacant. Like I mentioned above, a 10 day stay and this was the worst experience. Good luck to them...

Awful! Awful! Awful! My husband and I absolutely love Pagosa Springs. We've stayed at several different hotels and have to say this is the abosolute worst. The rate was 69.00 for the upgraded suite. A suite that was clean at the very least. The bath tub had mold and holes in the wall that were just painted over. While it had a very nice garden jet tub... The heat did not work so it was too cold to even think about using. The temp was -22 for the night, we woke up freezing, we called and John came over, brought with him a space heater (that we later found out didn't work), he played with the thermostats and said he would not be back. Dumbfounded, I called the front desk and asked if they had another room, as he did not want us to move, he tripped the breaker and the heat came back on. The room only has a 2' electic wall heater and an electric fireplace, it took quite some time for the room to warm up again. We had to call and ask for additional blankets. The beds and pillows are hard as bricks. The door had a trick to it, that if you didn't slide the card twice perfectly it would not lock.... I could go on and on... Needless to say after a freezing sleepless night, John offered no help, not customer service, and when we checked out in the morning all he had to say was "oh sorry". No compassion at all. The total bill was approx. 78.00 including tax. (not including a discount for the awful experience) I take this as an 80.00 lesson learned. We will never stay...

Would rate 0 if I could. Attempted stay 5/10. This is over a tv remote...

Worst manager ever. What a pathetic unprofessional smelly jerk. The tv remote was gone and he came to my room after the first time to fix the remote, 3 times then asked me to leave after I told him it was the last time he could come to my room. Bed spread was stained. Walls were so thin you could hear him walk down the hall. Room stunk of drugs. Manager couldn't even pull up his basket ball shorts and hide his butt Crack while looking for the remote. Absolutely pathetic. Will never return. Unprofessional. Dirty. Awful. Go to another hotel - it's so so worth the extra $20

I didn't insult the manager. I didn't cuss. I wasn't rude. I didn't do any gestures or anything potentially offensive. I didn't break any rules. He wrongly asked me to leave because after the THIRD TIME INTERRUPTING MY 1 NIGHT STAY, I ASKED HIM NOT TO COME BACK AGAIN. THEN HE COMES BACK AGAIN AND SAYS I HAVE 5 MINUTES TO "GET OUT"

I am appalled by the lack of hospitality and professionalism. So rude. Manager was an absolute slob. Should dress like that or speak to people staying there. Leaving multiple reviews online for how poor this is. Absolutely awful. Will never recommend this cheap pit.

There are a dozen great hotels in this city, I went down the road and walked into a lobby and was greeted by professionalism and a fully functional room. Go...
