Had to repost, first post was a different hotel. This place is pleasant and at one time looked just like the pictures. We had an EXCELLENT stay and we DO recommend this place. Please don't read too much into this, it is an RCI resort and it is a nice place, I would stay again and I do recommend it.
Let's get ugly first. They really need to do something about the goose droppings, they are everywhere so watch your step if you are by the lake. If Management reads this, do a YouTube search on a machine to pick up Goose Droppings, you REALLY need to get one. Run it weekly, PLEASE. The geese are a pleasant add, but they are geese with a trail of green behind them.
The window tracks and outside balconies have cobwebs, yuck. Not horrible, but come on guys, you can do better.
The place was clean enough, very well stocked, darn near new kitchen appliances. Rooms very good size. Comments about lack of hot water and it taking forever are overstaded, but we had four people and last man in the shower better go quick, or wait a bit. Same as at home. Some complained of no pressure, but that is because they are the big rain downpour shower heads...it is not really a problem.
The heat in the rooms is uneven, just keep the doors open to let the air flow when possible. It will probably be the same with air conditioning. The A.C. units seem to be middle of their life. The are sized correctly as is the heat.
We had two extremely minor maintenance issues. One with a leaky ice maker and one with the sliding screen door on the patio. They were Excellent and had each problem fixed within the hour of our call. So, thank you for quick fixes on small matters.
Looks like the place was built about 1980, they did a good refresh.
These units need what I call "deep housekeeping" They are fine, but here are two examples of what needs improvement. The heat registers had black dust around them meaning the heater filters need changing more often. Livable, but neglected. The rooms also need things like paint touch ups and take a Sharpie or other furniture marker and go through the place every three to six months! And if you are going to paint...,make sure it matches, or, paint the entire wall...especially the bathroom walls. Shower curtain was recently replaced upstairs but the downstairs was a little like a stinky sponge. Not too bad, but worth commenting. So, the refresh still is working, but I would say it is peaking.
Some complained about the check in process raking too long. Here is what to do...it is a two step process. First is getting your keys and that goes pretty quickly. They then send you over to another desk with the concierge service who is supposed to help you plan excursions and give you a parking pass for your car. Like you REALLY think they would tow you without a parking pass? Really? It is an excuse. We saw ONE parking pass on a dash the whole week. So, just split it up and come back tomorrow for the concierge service when you want to, all they do is try to sell you stuff. Big plus, the do NOT bug you ..Thank You.
Let's end on some positive notes. We had neighbors and all the guests were great people. The resort is in a great location for base camp Our unit was on the lake with a really nice view.. We loved it. We went to a huge rec center and gym...it is great. Lots to do, concierge staff is helpful, although the girl I talked to was not real enthusiastic. Pick their brain and do some more research...you have a smart phone. WiFi and cell service is fine. We have Verizon, good signal.
Local restaurants are plentiful with three star food and service. No complaints. There is a Wal-Mart just down the street open 6AM to midnight. They have a grocery store, there is also a City Market (Safeway, Frys, Albertsons affiliated). We found Boss Hogs and the Mexican place around the corner to have good food and prices for sit down.
Try to avoid arriving after dark unless you have a very good flashlight...they practice dark sky.
We had a great time and really enjoyed the location and our stay, Wyndham did make a...
Read moreI Booked my home timeshare at Pagosa Springs 10 months ago for Eagle loft unit for Christmas with my family. This is the first time we are all together for Christmas in over 10 years. We purchased our airline tickets 3 months ago. My daughter called the property yesterday, 10 days before we are scheduled to arrive and we are told that the Eagle Loft units, all fifty of them are being renovated! At Christmas time?? Are you kidding??? So now we have to stay in some dark and dreary condo that I refused to stay in once before and Wyndham Timeshare does not care because they are substituting a similar 2 bedroom and aloft unit. Why didn't they call me 3 months ago before I booked 6 airline tickets??? They just collect monthly maintained fees of over $1200.00 yearly and provide no service. I was willing to pay more points to do anything that would give me comparable lodging but they could not help! The Mountain Meadows unit are in no way comparable to Eagle Loft unless you are a bat and...
Read moreSpent five days here. Unit was musty smelling and dark. Ceilings are weirdly low which contributes to a cave-like atmosphere. Unit was not clean. Crumbs all over the floor around the dining table. My sister said it looked like the sheets on her bed hadn't been changed. Sliding glass door would not open. Lots of goose poop all over the sidewalks outside. Lots of wind coming through the edges of the front door. The day we were leaving someone dropped off new linens for the housekeeper and they placed it directly beneath where the roof was dripping by the front door. That may contribute to the musty smell. I don't think I'll be coming back to...
