We went here due to people recommending it on some of our camping groups.
Our experience was very strange.
Things to know: They have a different menu before 1100 to after 1100. Everything is an upcharge and we were not told that when the things mentioned were offered.
We sat down at 1130. We did not place our order, as the server was not ready, until 1140. Our food did not come to the table until 1210. It was not crazy busy, there were tables open. The manager never stopped over to the table. Our server refilled the soda for one person but the rest of us had water and there was only one refill during our entire stay.
Only 1 of 4 dishes came out as ordered.
We had Denver Omelette (2 people) both with pancakes as the sides, one with Chocolate chips and one without. On each of those the pancakes were very different in size and their cooked level. One was ordered with Chocolate chips and one ordered without. The order without still had chocolate on top and I was told it was from the flipper they used. The omelettes on both the eggs were dry and the ham, peppers and onions were just folded inside but not at all incorporated into the eggs. It tasted good, but was challenging to eat together. We ordered it smothered with green chili and neither came out with that. They then brought it on the side and we barely used it and it was about a $5 upcharge on each plate. This upcharge is not actually shown on the bill it just showed $19 vs $21 for the two different plates. So this was with the green chili upcharge despite it not being made that way.
Another person in our party ordered a single pancake with Whipped cream and a side of bacon. The pancake came out without whipped cream and the bacon was very over done
Another person ordered the Breakfast Burrito with the green chili on the side and that did not come out, which was fine and he declined it, but it still showed up on the bill as a $3.21 upcharge.
The only dish that came out correctly was the salmon tacos.
We went for the corned beef hash and were very disappointed that it is not available after 1100 and we did not know that.
Despite all the issues the manager never once came over to our table.
The server was interesting. We think she was trying but overall this was not a...
Read moreMy friend was drawn to this restaurant because of its name and vibe. She treated me to breakfast here on a Wednesday morning (around 9:30) in September.
The place was jumping and really filled up soon after we were seated.
The decor is cute. Somehow the vibe has been changed so totally, you forget you are in a strip mall restaurant.
The food was good. It was fine. I got huevos rancheros. The potatoes were the highlight of the dish. I ordered my eggs cooked over medium, but when I cut into them, the totally liquid yolks ran all over my plate. It wasn't worth the hassle of getting our waiter's attention, asking for a replacement meal, and sitting there awkwardly while my friend had food and I had none. Besides, if the cook didn't know what "over medium" was the first time, I didn't have much hope that a second go would be any better. So I just ate what was in front of me.
About halfway through the meal, I realized the two grilled tortillas that came with the dish were not going to cut it in sopping up the tasty liquid on my plate. I spent the next 10ish minutes trying to catch the eye of our waiter so I could ask for a biscuit to finish things up. While waiting for the biscuit, I found myself in the awkward position of looking at the food on my plate after my friend was done.
My friend got a vegetarian omelet with gouda in it. She said the omelet was good, but the highlight of the meal was the marbled rye toast that came with the omelet. She also seemed to enjoy the coffee; the waitstaff kept her cup full.
Our waiter was nice and accommodating. He was very chill and helpful.
If I could give this place 3½ stars, I would, but since I can't, I'll round up to 4. The food wasn't bad. It was fine, but not exceptional. The service was good. The atmosphere was noisy, bustling. Overall, I left full, but...
Read moreThis is without a doubt the BEST dinning experience I've ever had. Seriously. Not only is the food excellent and super fast, the service is truly outstanding.
My husband and I decided to give this spot a try during our trip to Pagosa Springs for our 13 year anniversary. It was after noon and we were really wanted breakfast/brunch but a lot of other restaurants had already stopped serving breakfast. Thankfully they have breakfast options available for "late risers" like us!
We ordered some hot drinks to get us started. I ordered the chocolatey schnapps which was PERFECT and my husband ordered a peppermint mocha which was divine. Then we shared the smothered burrito which was full of flavor and filling!
Again, the staff are the true all stars and really left a memorable experience which is why we decided to come back the next day.
During our second trip, Matt took care of us. He is a true gem. Not only is he attentive he is personable and so friendly. He even remembered from the day before even though he didn't take care of us. We absolutely LOVED watching him interact with EVERYONE. We felt so welcome!
PLEASE give this spot a try. You will not be disappointed. The food is outstanding! Especially The Skier. SO FREAKING GOOD. We ordered this on our second visit and were blown away. The hashbrowns, perfect. The sausage, thicccc. The green chili, fire. The gravy, slapping. The biscuit, buttery. Seriously PERFECT. chef's kiss
