The Buck Stops Here Meat Market — Restaurant in Colorado

The meat counter staff was amazing. We ordered 2 twenty dollar pieces of meat and a twenty dollar piece of fish cooked to order and received a ticket for the waitress. Unfortunately, not being from Pagosa and having several places which have similar setups we ordered the meat at the counter and proceeded to the seating area. One sign stated seat yourself another stated wait to be seated. We entered the dining room and waited... No one spoke to us. We were passed by a waitress 3 times and she ignored us. The bartend/manager? didn't notice us. After about 3-5 minutes of standing in the middle of the dining area we pulled two tables together. THEN, the bar manager rushed over to ask what we were doing. We told him so. He stated there was a waiting list and we stated we would be more than happy to wait and could be please tell the cook to hold cooking our meat. He seated us... And, we were ignored by ALL 3 staff members. When I got up and approached the waitress she very rudely advised that there was a wait list and turned away. The staff was obviously ignoring us while our expensive meat was being cooked with no ability to order drinks/sides because we unknowingly "bucked" their system. Even though we politely offered to wait. They constantly looked at us - it was obvious we were being ignored. We left. I advised the nice man at the meat counter of our experience. I am 49 years old - the wait staff was the most outstandingly rude "service" I have...

Tonight's experience was absolutely horrible, definitely not what I was expecting at all. Don't go here if you have any slight food issues whether it be allergies or other medical issues with food! I asked for a plain burger and was told not to worry it all came on the side and that it would be about 20 minutes til my food was ready, when 40 minutes goes by my food still isn't ready and 3 families had already gone in and then turned around and walked out and we should have taken the hint especially when the smoking section outside is right by 2 of the doors into this establishment you hear all the drama going on between employees. Definitely not an ideal place if you have a family. When we did get our food you couldn't tell whose burger was whose and none of the condiments came on the side and couldn't even eat my dinner as it had tomatoes on it as im allergic to and the fries were so over cooked and soggy that they were disgusting and they only had 2 tables at the time with maybe 3 people at each table so there's no reason for the type of service they were attempting to provide. I would never recommend this place to anyone. There are plenty of places to eat in town for much better food, service and at a way...

We were in Pagosa for Christmas and everyone raved about this place so we decided to give it a try. Started out with a very nice waitress and then it went downhill. We ordered and took forever for my drink to arrive then about 40 min later we got our food. My (30.00) filet was over cooked and luke warm, fries cold, my sons mashed potatoes were cold, my other sons $8.50 fries were ice cold and my husband ate his mashed potatoes with his knife. My nephews elk steak was still mooing and again cold fries. We sent all the fries and mashed potatoes back and his steak, about 20 min later it came out and one order of fries hot my sons still cold. Spoke to the owner and he blamed waitress and. Told us it was her fault and don’t tip and that would be our discount. It’s funny how it was all her fault because some of our party’s food was hot. I would not recommend this place to anyone. What owner would throw his staff under the bus just make it right and ask what to do to...
