So this morning me, my wife and my tyoung. Daughters decided to go to this restaurant to have breakfast. we got there and we sat down. The waiter came over and asked what we would like to drink. I asked the busser for some flavored coffee creamer. He told me that they didn't have any. I was surprised but ok. My likes her coffee a certain way so i had to go get in my car and go buy her some coffee creamer. Then my wife's bacon was cooked to crispy so we asked if they could bring some that was not so crispy. Oh my God! It was like asking for a miracle. So he brings out more and it was made the same way. Led me to believe that it was precooked already and not freshly made. Within a blink of an eye the supposed freshly made bacon was at the table. š š¤£.. So we just left it like that. So after we were done eatin, my wife went to use the ladies room and me and my daughters were waiting for the check to come to the table. Waiting there for a few minutes too long so I felt. And then I said well. Let's just go to the cashier. So we can pay and be on our way. Well there was no one at the cash register. The waiter/owner Came to me with a bill. I paid it and me and the kids left to the vehicle. Waiting for my wife to come out of the ladies room.. All of a sudden, I see the owner of the business. Come out to the front. He spotted me and approached my vehicle. Put his hands-on my vehicle without my permission and ask me. If everything was okay. I was a bit confused but I said yes everything is okay. Then he askedthen why didn't you leave me a tip? Keep in mind that this took place outside in public in front of this restaurand I add that my 2 young daughters. We're sitting in the back of the SUV looking at this man They were asking me pama what's going on? My baby's got it frightened. I Ask the gentleman You did see that I paid for my bill correct? He said yes but you left zero on the tip. You know I have to pay taxes on this. And all he kept saying was I have to pick taxes I have to pay taxes. Well when you own a business you have to pay taxes. And in public he was harassing me. Mbarrassing me flashing the recsit in front of me while people walking by and cars passing by my daughter's frightened in the vehicle. He walked away and then came back and started saying. I have to pay taxes why did you not tip me? I told him please leave me alone I already paid for my bill. Do not talk to me anymore. So he left my wife came out from the lady's room. Got into the vehicle and ask me. Did he come up to you and ask you something? I said yes, I would did he say anything to you? She said yes, he said your husband didn't leave me anything. He didn't leave me a tip. And before he left I asked them. What is it an obligation for me to leave you a tip? Or is it a choice that one can make? He said well it's your choice but you left me zero. I don't know but I will never, ever go back to that restaurant again. And I will use word of mouth To tell my family and friends about this establishment and my horrible experience that they made. Especially for my family, one daughter is 6 years old. The other daughter's 15 year old and my wife and myself. thanks...
Ā Ā Ā Read more12/9/22. After a game of golf , we went here for a decent meal (been here before pandemic). We both had Calf livers for appetizer, pork chops for main and each came with a soup. Verdict - calf livers were cooked to very dry so they were very chewy. The two soups (one clam chowder, one French onion) both tasted nice. My friendās pork chop was over cooked and chewy. She told our waiter who took the pork chop away. Then the manager came back with the same pork chop being cut into two pieces. He said thats the way they would cook their chops and he offered to make another dish of her choice. But my friend declined. We packed the chops home and asked for the bill.
A lady brought the bill. I asked for the card machine and she said they donāt have it and told me to give her my credit card. I said āI donāt like my card to be out of my sight. Can I go to the machineā. She replied āwe are not going to steal your card ā. She turned and walked away. I went after her to the reception where she swiped my card at a big screen. She put the paper chits in a black folder, without saying anything, she chucked the black folder to me. Lucky I caught it, otherwise the black folder will fly to my face. I still give 15% tips on the bill and its for the waiters. I donāt know the position of this lady. Even if she owns the place, she still should not be rude to the customers. We were disappointed. I am angry because I suggested to eat here. One āļø for the waiters and one...

I tried to book a phone reservation and was told this wasn't needed. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was told by the hostess that an available larger table was only for a party of 4 -- and then when I questioned further was told that the larger table was "reserved". This was especially galling after I had been told that a reservation wasn't needed and did not see any signs thereafter of any party of 4 claiming a reservation. Finally had to take this to the manager -- who accommodated us, although still making us feel that the request was an imposition and otherwise a privilege to receive the larger table.
I have been dining at Cafe des Beaux Arts for decades -- because food is good and service typically top-notch. Even this time, the meal and wait-staff were excellent. Problem here was the hostess: the restaurant and diners need to be aware of this person as a problem. Definitely does not belong in the position of a hostess !
Not sure if I will return again -- feeling that it's not an appropriate way to treat a customer, especially one who has been a patron for many years/decades and is dining with a disabled person. Will certainly wait to see if I receive any type of apology from the restaurant...
