When booking, we had expectations that this would be a hotel due to the name of the building. I was a bit surprised pre arrival that I got a message for a code. Before we arrive to the hotel, we call to see if we can get an early check in. It was around 1pm and the woman said absolutely, nobody had arrived the day before so we just need to call when we get there. We arrive and the parking was impossible. It says that parking was only for guests of whiskey but everyone was parking for the parade/market and waited 20 minutes for a spot. We arrive and couldnât enter due to the code and were surprised at the lack of workers there. We had to go through the restaurant. We spoke to the customer service team a total of 4 additional times to reach out to the staff to open the door. After several promises of call backs, there were none. No workers to be found but itâs a hotel???? This was basically an airbnb and that was the opposite of what I booked. After standing in front of the door for a good 30/40 minutes after being promised an early check in, I finally received a call from âmanagementâ. Very confused by the initial of the call as she stated âshe was taking care of her niece or nephew and didnât hear the phone ringingâ. Again very confused by no staff as this was a âhotelâ I booked. Then the woman stated that âthey were doing me a favor of checking in early and it was only 30 minutes before check inâ. Again, i understand the âfavorâ of the early check in however I would have never been upset if I was told that I couldnât check in early and had to wait. I wouldâve been completely fine and understanding. The frustration comes from over promising (early check in and just stating to call) and under delivering (calls several times and no assistance provided and then starts to insult me with the choice of words used). Again, the name is Hotel Whiskey. It was not booked on Airbnb or sold as airbnb. This is not a hotel in any way shape or form. This is an airbnb. Hotels have staff present and front desk to check into. I have traveled to several advanced countries (ex. Japan) that use technology nothing like the US and have electronic check in similar to what we experienced however had staff available 24/7 to assist. In regards to the room, very beautiful design I canât lie. Bed was comfortable etc. The bathroom was dirty, the shower had hairs and wasnât fully clean. The iron was working but had glitter all over it and ruined my partners suit. I couldnât even ask for a replacement because there was nobody to ask lol. I did appreciate the water and snacks, that was very kind. Then check out at 10 am lol thatâs crazy. Again, I booked it and it was stated on the website but thatâs harsh for a hotel. Earliest check outs are usually 11am/12pm. But again, it was communicated before when booking so I canât complain. Again, this is not a hotel. This is an airbnb. It was not worth $400 for an airbnb thatâs ridiculous. Nobody should stay here unless they understand that this is not a hotel and since itâs an airbnb the cost...
Read moreWe knew this would be a gamble for us, as we've never tried this style of hotel. Using a code for the doors was a great idea for those of us who often panic about losing our room key. But not having a front desk was kind of weird for me, and I don't think I'll do this again. We stayed here for 4 nights, as we wanted to see coastal Mississippi and this seemed like a walkable home base, which it was. And we understood that no one would be coming by to make up our bed, which was fine. But I like a clean towel, and I don't think it's too much to ask. We put out the door hanger saying we'd like our room refreshed (towels, trash), and the first day, no one came. We texted, and they responded that someone would come by, but they didn't. We texted again that night that no one ever came by, and got no response. The following day when we returned to the room, a couple of clean towels were on the floor outside our door (but no washcloths or hand towels). No one had set foot in the room, despite our asking specifically for this. We emailed and got a response that our concerns were being addressed, but the unsigned email with no phone number and a canned style of writing made me believe that they were using AI to respond to key words and not directly addressing my questions. We did not trust the bot to communicate our desires to the housekeeping staff, so when we spotted the housekeeper in the hall, we asked him to please refresh our room (i.e., take away the dirty towels, put in clean towels, take out the trash). When we returned, we were very pleased he had done this for us. Based on his shirt, we could see that he works for an outside company (not directly for Hotel Whiskey). He was lovely, and I appreciate him very much. But this style of service was not for us. If you're going for a day or a weekend, this might be just fine. Also, a few other issues: 1. On our reservation, we requested a balcony, and it looked like we had one reserved. But when we arrived, our room was on the back side of the hotel. There was no one to talk to in order to see if this could be resolved, so we decided to live with it. 2. The Tesla chargers in the parking lot were present, but not available. First, we had to wait until someone moved, as they were all blocked by non-EVs. Second, when one became available, it wasn't working. We finally had to flip the breaker ourselves, and it came on. Again, there was no one to ask permission of, so we risked a DIY solution 3. The walls are thin, as mentioned in previous reviews. There are no rugs or carpeting, which I am sure makes things easier to clean, but there's not much sound dampening. A dog stayed in the hotel while we were there, and we heard its barks. We also heard an unanswered alarm clock for...
Read moreThis is not a hotel. There is no front desk, no lobby, no staff. We had expected to be able to use the lobby while waiting for our 3 p.m. check-in time as one does in a real hotel.
Instead of a lobby, there is a hallway from the street door to the elevator. There is no restroom available in the hallway. There is a restroom in the restaurant next door, which is not affiliated with the hotel, and was closed at the time we entered the building.
We were assigned two different room numbers in messages we received prior to checking in, and the code to enter the room we thought we had been assigned didn't work when we returned to the building. We had to call for help at 11 p.m. on Christmas night. The phone number given is not a direct access. We had to make our complaint and then wait for someone to call us back.
The room we were given was not the one we reserved as I had asked for a balcony. Instead we were given a room with a view of the parking lot. We might as well have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn on the highway, which also has a view of a parking lot, but also has friendly staff, a restaurant,...
