Italian Bistro — Restaurant in Pascagoula

My wife and I rarely go to pascagoula anymore but we were in town for the cruisin event Saturday. We found this place using Google. It is a very quaint and inviting place. It is perfect for a date meal. Food was outstanding! We had the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and they were amazing...and I am not a mushroom fan at all! The "pink sauce" was fantastic! My wife had the chicken Florentine and it was really good. I had the spaghetti sausage and it did not disappoint. On the suggestion of our server , Amber, I got it with a little added spice. It added a nice kick to the dish. The food was full of flavor! The prices were not bad considering the costs restaurants face these days. Our server, Amber, was very kind and attentive. The owner even came out to charge with us. We now live in the Laurel area but we will definitely stop here again when we are on the coast. Overall, we had a wonderful experience! I went here for a DoorDash delivery and I stood at the “wait to be seated” podium for about 10-15 minutes. While I continued to wait I guess because I’m a brown skinned young lady it seemed as if not many of “us” go there, because the customers and employees were giving me looks as if I was in the wrong place. The staff and employees kept coming in and out of the kitchen and several looked my way, but seemed as if they were trying to avoid eye contact to come assist me. As soon another race of individuals came in that’s when one of their employees acknowledged me and asked if she could help me. She told me that they canceled those orders for that evening, which she could have been told me that instead of me just having to wait that long while I was standing there. First, I would like to say that our experience here was disappointing. The food was absolutely delicious! Other than that, it was not good. Our waitress never came back to offer us more drinks, and we had to literally flag her down to get them. She was very kind, perhaps they were just short staffed that evening, I don’t know. The lighting in that place is the worst! It is like being on an airport runway. It is so bright and offensive. The waitress did dim the lights for us, but it wasn’t much different. They should really consider not using those fluorescent looking overhead lights, and improving the atmosphere with soft lighting, and perhaps a candle at each table. Also, did not care for the music. When I go to an Italian restaurant, I actually want to hear Italian music. It makes the experience more authentic...
