We are here for two weeks. First week, the staff have been outstanding. Very friendly and helpful. The staff are 5 stars!
The room: We have a king suite. Pros: A nice desk in the sitting room with an office chair. A couch (Might be a roll-out bed, I'm not sure), a chair, coffee table, and side table. A nice entertainment center with a flat screen TV. There is no TV guide, so it is a pain to find channels you are seeking.
The bathroom is fine, toilet, sink, and shower. The place they store the towels, at the upper back of the shower, is very inconvenient. They need more shelving around or under the sink.
The refrigerator in our room works, but it is a smaller fridge, it's missing the rack on the inside of the door, so that is wasted space. It leans forward and so when you open it, things fall out on the floor. The coffee maker and microwave work very well. None of the ice machines appear to be working in the hotel, this has been a complaint with so many customers.
The bedroom is nice. The bed is comfy and on a king size bed, they give us two king size and two standard pillows. Grateful for that. The sheets actually fit the bed, which is an issue at many Hiltons for some reason. So that is two thumbs up. Another TV in the bedroom. A nice size closet and safe. Two nightstands. Plenty of drawer space for clothing, too. The windows do not open for fresh air, not even an inch. I wish I could air out our bedroom daily.
They have an excellent gym and laundry room. The pool always looks very clean.
The breakfast staff are lovely. They have a good selection. If they don't have decaf coffee made, they always are willing to make it happen. They have turkey sausage if you don't eat pork. They make eggs, omelets, pancakes, and so forth. They have the usual pastries, breads, oatmeal, juices, milk, fruit, cereal, coffee, and so forth.
It is very close to being a 5 star rating. I'd stay here again, but I'd request a bigger fridge when we are here for two weeks and one that stands upright and doesn't lean so I don't have to sit on the floor to fit things back...
Read moreI have stayed at this HGI in Pearland periodically for business over the last several years. For the most part, the hotel is your standard HGI with same amenities. However, something odd changed since my last stay that was actually so intrusive and controlling over my comfort as a guest that I will never stay at this hotel...again. What is this thing that changed my view so drastically? It is the fact that they now force guests to cowtow to their environmental dogma that guests are ruining the environment if they want the temperature in their room lower than 68°. So it doesn't matter to the franchise owner of this hotel that the location is situated a oppressively hot and humid geographical region of the country. Not only did the A/C limit you to 68° and a moderately warm day with 95% humidity, but the fan would only run for a few minutes and then cut off. I was constantly having to get out of bed and push the A/C button which seemed to kick on for a short minute or two but then would stop. Rinse and repeat all night long. When I called the front desk and asked why I can't lower the temp under 68° I found out that the owner made a decision to restrict guests from having that much control over the A/C because they are an eco-friendly hotel. Apparently, I had stayed at a horrible un-eco-friendly hotel a few month earlier when I had the ability to lower the A/C to 65° so I could sleep comfortably. This may not matter to some people, but it's a deal breaker for me when traveling in one of the most humid places in America. I also ran into this same scenario at a stay at a Homewood Suites in Cupertino, CA. Been a Diamond member for 10+ years and have made a decision to explore Marriott Bonvoy. Hope they don't do the same BS at...
Read moreI reserved this room on my HH app with my HH account. I had a confirmation. Upon check in, I was not able to use the hotel Wi-Fi. You have to put in your last name and room number. I called the front desk and she simply told me try using the HH Meeting Wi-Fi. We did and it was awful. It kept dropping. The next morning I went to the front desk. The agent was not very welcoming and said it was me or my phone because the Wi-Fi is working. After asking my room #, she realized the name on my room got changed to Stills. Like what? That’s not my last name. I asked if it could be fixed, I wanted to make sure I get my HH points for future stays. She assured I would. I checked out the next, 2 nights total. Not able to find my stay on the app. I received 2 email receipts and I have one charge and 2 more pending charges. I called the hotel and was told those pending should not post. That’s it. I do not recommend this hotel due to customer service. Coffee machine in room was broken. Yes, I informed them. No changes. What happened to customer service ?
Update: after many calls and investigations by the hotel, it was found when the agent checked me in, somehow changed my reservation. And the alleged duplicate charge was not. She made 2 separate transactions on my card. 2 reservations, instead of one. They credited my tab from the bar. I appreciate that. I was so confused seeing 2 separate charges on my card when I had one stay. It was a big mess. I’m grateful for the calls to assist in finding the charges and...
