This is a "ma" and "pa" business and I was excited to stay here. I enjoy helping local businesses and their economy. However this hotel would NOT be one that I could ever recommend to anyone. First thing that got us was the smell of sewage when we walked up the stairs to get to our room. When we open the door to our room, there was an overwhelming "funky" odor. I tried to find out where it was coming from. I couldn't find the source of the odor but I did find an used Stridex pad, half of a Darvocet, a cigarette butt, a used tissue, and a few other things all behind the bed side table. I reported this to the front desk and I went to get some candles and room spray. When we returned, approx. 3 hours later, someone had come into the room and made the bed...BUT the array of different things behind the table remained. I called the front desk and they sent someone to the room. I asked her what the horrible smell was, and she said she didn't smell anything. I then showed her the "stuff" and she said "I don't get back there except on a room turn over" I explained that we had just checked in and we didn't put it there. She than said "What do you want me to do?" I asked her to clean it. She proceeded to pick up the stuff with her bare hand. I said I couldn't imagine picking that up without gloves on. Really....what was in that tissue? She left the room. About 30 minutes after I needed to use the bathroom and what did I find? A cigarette butt in the toilet. This was suposta be a NON SMOKING room and neither I or my husband smoke...it had to be the person in the room while we were gone! WHAT THE HECK!!! At this point we went to the store and bought cleaning materials and I cleaned the room. BUT the smell remained. That night, at 3AM, I was awoken by a noise. It was a mouse in my medical stuff ( I am waiting on a transplant and have several medical issues)! I screamed loudly to hopefully scare it away. It ran out of the bag. This happened 3 times that night. I could not sleep, and was freaked out that my medical equipment was now contaminated. My husband reported it to the front desk and received a "humf" response. We bought mouse traps. This all happened in only the first 2 nights. I made sure that they knew I had medical issues and I needed a CLEAN environment. I told them upon reservation, check-in, while reporting the foul smell, and after the mouse. No one cared. We had NO other choice of some where to stay. We were visiting family in the area and unfortunately they did not have space due to the holiday. We were stuck. I will MAKE SURE that we will NEVER stay in this hotel again, even if I have to drive an hour or more to the next hotel. It is CRAZY!!!!!! ||Also, the lamp on the bedside table was a fire hazard. The stem of the lamp was broken and had exposed wires showing. It order to turn the lamp on, you needed to plug it into the wall, and the switch was also broken. I brought this to their attention and was told "There are at least 10 like that and he has them on order". I'm not sure who "he" is, but why not pull the lamp from the room instead of allowing a fire hazard in the room?||Please take a look at...
Read moreThis place is just all around sad. I’ve stayed here maybe 4 times in the past 25 years, with the most recent being this month. It honestly appears that the owners just don’t care any more and are trying to squeeze out a fast buck where they can before they have to shut down. Here are the few of the highlights:||||- Trash shoved behind nightstand, beds and dresser||- Toilet had the “sanitized for your protection” tag on the lid, but lift the lid and there are urine droplets and pubic hairs in full view||- Toilet was clogged at first flush (no, we didn’t clog it)||- Electric cord for lamp was patched with electrical tape||- Padding had long worn away from inside the cushion on the chairs; like sitting on concrete||- Flourescent bulb over vanity didn’t work||- Furnishings are very outdated and broken/worn out||- Housekeeper didn’t bother stopping by to clean between days 1 and 2||||It appears they are trying to make ends meet by renting out rooms by the week and month. Just all around terrible and you’d probably be better off sleeping in your car. Hope this place changes ownership soon, for its sake. But then again, it may be too far gone...
Read moreThe best thing about this place is the location. Extremely overpriced! Had to be transferred from the first room due to cockroaches being over whelming, the room they moved me into was not all the way bug free but may have seen 1 and it was a lot cleaner. The employees are very nice on most days. Well while my youngest was using the restroom minding her own business part of the bathroom ceiling falls down and hits her in the head. Never have I tried to be calmer I tell them what happens and they never asked if she was ok but told me thanks for telling them I mean it could have been a lawsuit but honestly if they don't fix the motel you know they can't have the funds for something like that thank goodness I'm not greedy. But it would have been nice to know that it upset them my 9 year old could have been hurt. Front desk ladies are amazing don't really know any of the other workers tho. It could use a serious overhaul!!! But honestly do not see the owner doin that. I honestly only will stay if I have exhausted all other places!!! So very sorry if I embrass any 1...
