We stayed here on our way back from Pigeon Forge, TN to Corpus Christi, TX in June 2016 because this place was around the distance from home we wanted to be at so we could make one long drive the next day and be home a day earlier than planned.
I looked at various reviews online and for the most part this place had good reviews with the occasional complaint that I usually chalk up to "you can't please everyone all the time".
I called to make sure they had a pull through available as I don't like backing up a 46' rig if I don’t have to. (pull vehicle plus travel trailer). I talked to Angel on the phone and she was very nice and accommodating. We were going to arrive after the office closed so she said she'd leave the wifi code and a map for me and that the pull throughs were up front and to just pick one and we'd settle up in the morning. When we arrived at the office I couldn't find any envelope with the information but I noticed a sign that said to pick any pull through 1DT to 9DT and there was a map showing where these were. Part of the road to the pull throughs was blocked which I wasn't expecting. There appeared to be some light construction or repairs going on with the first couple of pull throughs. I ended up having to go the wrong way to pull into one of the pull throughs and because the lanes are narrow it was a close fit to turn into the spot but I managed.
The pull through we stayed in (9DT I believe) was gravel and fairly level for a non-concrete spot. Electricity, water, sewer all worked as expected. I did not hook up cable since we were only there for one night and I didn't even look to see where it was. There was plenty of room for our slide out which is about 44” when extended. The site was long enough for us to keep the pull vehicle connected to the trailer.
We were hungry and there are no places to eat within walking distance and I didn't want to unhook from the trailer so we ordered Dominos which delivered to the park. It got to us quickly and it was tasty. (I’ll be giving them a good review too!) It was quiet in the park. No complaints about any noise issues.
In the morning my wife went to the office to pay for our stay while I prepared for departure. Angel had indeed left the information, I just didn't see it. I was glad to hear that she hadn't forgotten because as I said she was very nice on the phone. Just make sure you ask where the information will be so you don’t have a problem finding it. :-) My wife said the office was very nice and had a "homey" feel with a living room, dining table and fireplace. She also said the pool area was nice although we didn't get a chance to swim.
When it was time to leave our spot was very easy to get out of. When you pull out of the front pull throughs you are pulling out onto the road out of the park which makes it easy to get on your way.
We would stay here again if stopping...
Read moreMy fam and I were originally scheduled to stay two weeks. But since or new apartment wasn't ready we ended up staying a full month. The park is clean and the employees were great. They have huge pool that we took advantage of fully. 😁 There Is A pond on one side of the property for fishing. Not much to fish for but A good time killer. The"park" was far from. One swing set falling apart and a see-saw that has seen better days. They do have a put put course. Nothing special, not really been kept up. Again, a good time killer. You can rent an RV if available or a cabin. We had A cabin. One room, one bathroom- 4 people...for a month! The beds were not comfortable at all. There is A queen and bunk beds in the cabin wer had. They did have free wifi and direct tv. Which was A life saver. With all of that said, I would recommend this place if you have your own RV. Or its only 2 people in a cabin. The girl that checked us in and out was very helpful at accommodating our needs and worked with us when she could. (Thanks Angel for all of your help!) The main reason I have 4 instead of 5 stars was bc of the uncomfortable beds. When you have 2 adults and two children in one room for a month, a comfy bed means...
Read moreAs a child, we stayed at this Park a good bit. It was once called Mississippi Pines. Anyway, I had the opportunity to stay at this establishment which was set up as a Hurricane Katrina Fema park for NASA Stennis Space Center employees who lost their homes in Katrina. The owner and people who lived on the edge of the park treated the Katrina survivors like crap. Mind you, that everyone in that park worked at NASA. The people I knew from NASA were all high ranked upstanding government employees. This was not the average Fema trailer park. The owner and his wife were very distraught about their wind damage and the continued flow of Katrina displaced survivors; never mind that all of us there lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. They targeted the Katrina survivors and made life rough. They were payed by FEMA to provide a place to live, and they treated us like crap. There is a group of people who live on the edge of the park who gave us grief because we drove through their area of the park to the other exit out. The owners and campers that lived permanently on the...
