Glacier Crossroads reminds me so much of the small motels I remember from the 50's and 60's. It may well date back to that era, but it clearly has been updated in the recent past. The exterior is attractively painted and well maintained. The rooms are very small, but adequate for a night's stay. The walls were not all marred up, the bathroom was clean with none of the mold or grime that you often find in the corners and around the sink, which by the way is nice and large. Much larger than you'd expect and very welcome. Fixtures and trim fit well and the overall look was very good. I'd give the cleanliness an eight out of ten. Modern touches like a microwave, small refrigerator, large flat screen TV, and free Wi-Fi are all in keeping with what you expect today, albeit the appliances take up precious counter space. The biggest drawback is that there is no place to hang anything. No closet, no pegs, no hooks; not even a hook on the back of the bathroom door. In a room so small it would have been nice not to have to lay stuff on the one chair or table.||||Some people have commented on road noise. That's to be expected, it is right off the highway after all. Turning on the air-conditioner will drown out all but the heaviest trucks and provide a steady drone of white noise. Crossroads does have a symbiotic relationship with Quinn's resort. If you stay here you get to swim for free at Quinn's. That's a real plus for those wanting to...
Read moreI had a reservation at another hotel in the area but unfortunately, they misplaced my reservation and I ended up at the Glacier Crossroads for the night. The room was tiny. The bed was hard (like rock hard). The pillows were also rock hard. I didn't sleep at all.||The room didn't have a desk - just a chair and a bed. There was a small refrigerator and a microwave however. The shower was a 1970's dark green thing with white flower anti-slip stickers on the floor. The bathroom was tiny. There were no lightbulbs in the light fixtures outside the rooms. My room was in a back building - near the woods. The room doors faced the outside. Since I arrived at the hotel at 9:30 pm it was dark and I had to use the flashlight on my cell phone to find the room door and fit the key in the door. ||I would not stay here or recommend that anyone stay here unless they had no other options. The place is in dire need of a total remodel - or at the very least, some maintenance. I mean come on - no light bulbs in the light fixtures? The best that can be said of the place is that it was cheap. I guess you get what...
Read moreSo we stayed here a couple nights a few years back because we hadn't heard of the Dew Duck Inn yet. It was horrible...old, run down, weird smell, just awful. We were in one of the rooms up front facing the main road. I swore then I'd never stay here again. Next time it was Dew Duck. They however, were full on this particular night so we stayed at GC. What a world of difference!! We got a room in back so I can't speak to the ones we were in the last time, but it was very nice and comfy! Updates to the furniture, the faucets, tub, etc. My only complaint is that the pillows were too soft and while we found one extra in a desk drawer, that only helped plump up one of our heads, not both of us. I'd never fear staying here again, but I would ask for the same room since I don't know how much of the rest of the place has...
