Rose Stone Inn — Hotel in Ponca City

The staff was friendly. The couch in the room was a nice touch. There was no view to speak of, but we needed the room for sleeping, so that wasn't a problem. The bed was firm, but comfortable, pillows were good. We didn't try the microwave, but the mini fridge worked just fine. The problems were the small spider in the bathroom and the two roaches I saw in various spots in the room. I could not get the cable to work, the only channels that came up were music and there was no channel guide in the room. The door opened with a regular key, not a keycard and was difficult to open. You had to do a sort of twist and push with the key while simultaneously trying to open the door. The safety latch on the door was broken, half of it was missing. There was pen scribblings on the walls and chairs...

This is NOT a luxury hotel/B&B as advertized. It is an old regular one story bank that has been hodgepoded into a cheap motel. It wasn't clean and on top of it all the owner lied right through his teeth when I asked if there were any newer hotels in the area...he said no and he was the only one with any stars on ratings. We stayed there the one night not knowing the area but upon driving around the next day found a very nice Fairfield Inn and completed our stay there. There was no fine dining, theater, or botanical gardens to be found and most of the downtown buildings are closed. There was one resturant, an Italian one, that was within walking distance and it was good and clean. There was no gym or swimming and the web site is all a figment of someones...

Reserved a "Penthouse room" a month ahead of time to arrive on the day and have no one come to the front desk to wait on me. SMELLED LIKE A NURSING HOME!!! Had to call them while standing at the front desk to be waited on. Lady didn't speak English. Took me to a room with a double bed. NO 2 ROOMS ONLY 1 ROOM WITH 2 BEDS WHICH IS NOT WHAT WAS PROMISED!!! I showed her my confirmation that said 2 rooms she said " oh no that's been booked for a month." UGHHHH. Had to go last minute to find another place to stay. The room she showed me was definitely dirty and the whole place smelled TERRIBLE!!! WOULD NOT GO BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!! Parking was awful as well!!! NOTHING...
