I stayed here overnight while having to see a doctor at a close area hospital. I had read the reviews for this facility and they were very poor. After speaking with hospital employees and inquiring abt a close place to stay overnight after I drove 100 miles. Surprisingly they recommend this location. I was exhausted after the drive and decided to give this place a try after their recommendation. Location to hospital was superb. I made the reservation over the phone, quoted price 69.99 plus tax. Upon arrival I was just hoping for the best and I was tired. Front desk clerk was very polite. She informed me of a $100 deposit required that was not mentioned when I made reservation and I would get it back on my card when I checked out. Only available room was on back side of facility. I’m 76 year old female traveling solo. When I got around back there were several young men hanging out of a pickup truck trying to get the attention of a young lady coming thru the parking lot and she kept walking. I was s little apprehensive abt unpacking my travel bag. Once I got in the room the nauseating smell was overwhelming. I tried to deal with it because u pretty much “get what u pay for” and I was just too tired to go any further. I ended having to go to front desk for some room refresher. Clerk once again was very nice. Guys hung outside till late into the evening. Later on that night u could hear commotion outside my door with dogs barking. That morning I wasted some water in the bathroom I use a towel to wipe it up and realized floor was filthy and cob webs were hanging from ceiling over my bed. Upon cking out I inquired abt my deposit and was informed I have to wait until my room is cleaned, how about it wasn’t clean to start with 🥺. I called Extended Stay reservation office and was told by a(rude) representative they had nothing to do with the deposit I would have to discuss that with front desk, really. I checked in on Wednesday, checked out Thursday morning, I didn’t get my refund until Sunday. I’ve always felt “if u can’t say anything good, don’t say anything”. Like I said, you get what u pay for. I’m not trying to bash this place because i pretty much knew what I was getting but the deposit issue really prompted me to write this review. The BIG issue for me here was “housekeeping” I wasn’t looking for 5 star rating but dirty floors and cob webs hanging and charging me a deposit were disheartening, but it was a lesson learned. Staff was 5 star, location was 5 star. Cleanliness 0. To those like me who were looking for location and price or just traveling thru the area this might work. Comfort, cleanliness and SECURITY may not work. First time in my life I’ve had to put up a deposit. Wonder why🧐. Somebody needs to really train...
Read moreI waited awhile to see if time would blunt my criticism, but it hasn't. Bluf: Know what you are getting into. This is NOT for a short-term visit.
Good: Location. One of the closest chain hotels to CNU.
Staff. Front Desk staff was obviously overworked and was trying to do everything. Friendly and accommodating, but pulled in 5 directions at once.
Room was acceptably clean. Hand sanitizers available in lobby and elevator.
TV and Internet worked.
Bad: Maintenance horrible. First room given did not have working AC. Second room had a table that was falling apart. Hinges on bathroom door were rusty. Water stains in the ceiling.
Desperate need of paint and carpet. Carpet smelled like a wet dog that had rolled in mold. Layout. AC unit was a wall unit that could not be adjusted, so cold air was blowing right on to the bed next to it. In order for the room to be cold, the person sleeping in that bed was going to freeze, even with blankets.
Outside cleanliness. Elevator was so dirty, the floor was sticky. Parking lot littered with trash. Outside garbage bins horribly overflowing and stinking. Walls and walkways filthy.
Ambiance. I didn’t appreciate my wife and two teenage daughters being ogled by the gaggle of “long-term” residents (as characterized by the staff) who were having a barbecue in the parking lot in front of the room.
Narrative: Upon arrival I was informed that there would be no service to the room during our stay, and no breakfast of any kind provided, despite what the website said. Upon notifying the front desk that the A/C wasn’t working, we waited 10 minutes for her to come to room, fiddle with it, and then we had to ask to have another room assigned. She agreed, and 15 sweltering minutes later we went looking for her. Upon arrival to new room, we noticed the table (where I needed to work the next day) was wobbly to the point of collapse. Same staff member got down on her hands and knees and finger tightened the bolts. I appreciate the effort, but by now, it appeared that there was no maintenance person on call or available, just the one overworked desk clerk. During the entire first day that we were there, long-term residents were running multiple barbecues in the parking lot, playing music and talking. Every time my wife or daughters left or arrived, their conversations would stop and focus on my family, accompanied by low voices and laughing.
Will absolutely not return, despite the efforts of the front office...
Read moreHands down the worst place I've ever walked into. To say that this place is disgusting is not even scratching the surface. The staff member behind the counter was perfectly nice and fine. There was some difficulty checking in but it was not their fault, rather a faulty system. That should have been my first clue. My second should have done that there were doormats in front of some doors but not in front of others. The staining from where the doormats had been was still there, but they had not been replaced. It made the place look very cheap and unkempt.
There was exactly one chair to sit in in the hotel room, and the chair was a cracked, broken, used and beaten up leather chair. It was the kind of chair you would see in a basement or in a home where it's been neglected for years. There were holes of indeterminate origin, almost as if someone had stuck pencils into the leather. There was a desk with no chair. So your options are a busted leather chair or the bed. The staff member did not know what the Wi-Fi password was, nor was it written anywhere in the room. The dresser drawers were half open and had some kind of unidentifiable gunk inside them. Not exactly welcoming the idea of extending your stay.
There are no plates, silverware, coffee machines, anything convenient in a place that is supposedly all about being a little mini apartment while you're traveling. You have to schlep everything from the check in office to your room.
The room itself smelled like someone had microwaved fish in there. The microwave was filthy, with a glass plate that was off the track constantly. The refrigerator was dirty. The walls were absolutely filthy.
The real kicker was the shower. There was No shower curtain at all. The shower looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Everything was dingy and smelled of smoke. There were quite a large number of people congregating and hanging out in the parking lot. I was very scared to leave my car in the parking lot. That was not an issue because the smell and dinginess of the room was too overpowering and I left within 10 minutes of getting there. I would not feel safe and comfortable spending one hour never mind two nights there. Do not come to this place.
Edit: just saw their system charged me an additional $168. No clue where that came from. I laid through a third party app. They took a deposit, which I thought was weird. Apparently the deposit ISN'T $100 but $268. What a scam. I wish I could give them...
