I’m highly upset that I had to even give a one star review. I came to the hotel and checked in shortly after check in time. When I made the reservation, I booked a suite with 2 queen beds and a pull out couch because we came with our children with the youngest being 2 years old. When we got the room key we went to the room. As soon as we opened the door there was an extremely strong odor. We almost immediately got sick. When we walked in we found an ozone machine on the dresser. We went immediately back to the front desk. The gentleman at the front was nice and accompanied us back to the room and said “oh yeah, it smells like mold killer”. Who says that to a guest? He then gave us another room that was supposed to be the same size as the one we had booked but it was not. I told him we’d make it work but to please send blankets and pillows up to the room. Keep in mind that this was a little after check in time. We got back to the room at around 10pm and after leaving the ac on all day, it was hot. The ac was not working properly and low and behold, no sheets or blankets were brought up. I went to the front desk to ask where the sheets and blankets were and they made me carry them up myself. The excuse was “oh he didn’t know he needed to bring them up” even though I had asked 7 hours earlier to please have them brought up. I then asked for maintenance because the room was hot as the ac is not working and I have kids. Apparently there is no maintenance and no housekeeping on staff. I asked for a refund so we could go to another hotel to be able to sleep comfortably with our children and we were denied that. So now we are stuck in a hot hotel room because the staff at this location apparently does not care about their guests. I have never had to deal with such poor customer service in my life. I am in property management, and would never treat my residents/guests this way. Oh and I forgot to mention that none of the outlets work so we are unable to...
Read moreI took my wife and son to a family Sweet Sixteen celebration in Port Lavaca, TX. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for two nights. The room had a view of the bay and was very clean. In fact, the public restroom off the lobby was super clean. Also, the room itself was not that wide, plus the beds took up most of the room. The beds were really comfortable, and we slept very well during our stay. The stay included breakfast served from 5:30 am to 10 am. There was a nice selection of breakfast fare offered. I tried the pancake maker. Simply push a button and place a paper plate at the bottom, and after a couple of minutes, a pancake rolls out. The pancake was OK a little too dense, and not the least bit fluffy. Available to choose from included omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, assorted cereals. There is like a bakery cabinet with bagels, muffins, breads, and toppings. The juice machine had all the flavors working, and the coffee station was fully stocked and on point. We liked the friendly attendant who was always busy maintaining the food area and the cleanliness of the dining area. Port Lavaca is not a resort or beach town by any means. I got that impression due to the extremely large, massive, and impressive refinery that is on the other side of the bay. That and seeing the refinery workers in heavy garb outside waiting for their ride. There is another refinery outside of town about 50 miles or so down the road. I met a few workers, some were from Canada, and one guy I talked to was from Africa. Anyway, we enjoyed the celebration and the hotel. My only complaint is the place only had one elevator, so there were long...
Read moreI have to say, this was a horrible experience and the way they handled it including the manager. I went back and forth with them for months before the trip, my friends and I were riding motorcycles from NY to TX. I booked months in advance and got a total price of 1,800.50 plus tax and a conformation number so we wouldn't have any problems because it was a long ride and we were tired. At 11:09 am that morning of check in I get a phone call so I pull over with all the guys to call back at 11:18 am, 9 minutes later and we can't check in until 3pm. So I call 9 minutes later to find out they gave all 9 rooms away. They said they been trying to call me, the only phone log I have from them calling was 9 minutes earlier and they said they couldn't get me so they gave our rooms away. Check in isn't for anyone 4hrs so why would you give my rooms away plus I have a conformation #. PLUS I call with in 9 minutes 🤔 so they Obviously gave my rooms away days earlier and just figured out they messed up. I told them I have a conformation number and total amount held on credit card, they said they don't see that, how can I have all this printed out with conformation number and balance without giving a credit card. This was a horrible experience and the way they handled it was wrong, not even a sorry we messed up. We really had to scramble to find rooms at the last minute on a busy weekend for 16 guys. If anyone has corporates number send it to me so I can send them all the paperwork I have and email conformation. Thanks, sorry for rambling on but this was horrible and all the guys didn't...
