Pros: The ocean view was absolutely fabulous! The price for this room was also incredible, especially given the view and location. Room was very clean. Staff running the hotel (I think it's a family operation) were very nice and thoroughly explained options for heating/cooling at check-in. Microfridge present. Recycling bin in room. Room had a nice coastal feel to it. Box fan was offered in lieu of AC.||Cons: The room and property seem very worn. Walls and furniture were in dire need of paint touch-ups. Fixtures and hardware could have benefitted from an update. Water pressure was low. WiFi was present, but slow. Driveway coming in was in serious need of repaving. Mattress wasn't uncomfortable, but was old and firm. Room was carpeted, which I don't prefer in coastal settings where sand can easily be tracked in (but carpet was clean). Windows did not open very wide, which was a disappointment given the ocean view (they open just enough to create airflow if you also open the room door). Doors do not lock automatically, so you have to remember to lock deadbolt before leaving.||Bottom Line: I would rate this hotel as 3, possibly even 2 stars in any other location. But the view and price point gives me cause to rate higher. But be prepared for a quaint property significantly behind on deferred maintenance. Hotel should consider minor updates such as paint touch-ups and updates to fixtures to make rooms look a...
Read moreoriginally booked this motel because of the decent reviews, however my two nights there were very uncomfortable. the first night could barely sleep because in Orgeon there is no AC, which usually works out. however this motel offers a huge window with a tiny vent that has mesh lining to prevent bugs. The lining in our room was ripped so bugs were flying in the room the whole time. since there is only one window besides the very tiny tiny window in the bathroom you don’t get much airflow, so keeping your door propped open while you’re in the motel would be the best idea. It is extremely hot inside of the motel at night and every morning I woke up. I woke up with some type of phlegm in my Throat from not being able to breathe properly. your usual noises nothing to loud. you are given two very thin pillows to sleep on! so bring your own! my second night was pretty decent despite how hot it was until it was about 5 AM in the morning and me and my boyfriend are woken up to raging rock music blaring into our room because the person under us. knocked for about 7 minutes. the music was apparently so loud they couldn’t hear the knocking. the owners weren’t accommodating either. if you’re going down the coast i would just suggest staying in another motel or the...
Read moreBefore you stay, just be aware there's a reason the price is so reasonable, so keep your expectations low. The building, inside and out, has a lot of basic deferred maintenance. Bumpy-rutted driveway, no lit exterior signage. The water pressure in the shower was already super, super low, then it shut complety off on me twice while showering. Moldy caulking in the shower. Burnt out light bulbs in the fixtures. Ceiling fan wobbled around terribly. The exterior door had a gigantic gap at the bottom and no weather stripping at all, the wind actually rattled the door most of the night. The exterior doors only use standard keyed deadbolt locks and have no privacy lock on the inside. I ended up with a room without a fridge, so ice would have been nice...the ice machine is nonfunctioning, filled with dirt and spiders. Lastly, on night #1 a very loud, droning, low humming noise vibrated the floor all night long. It kept me from sleeping most of night. I brought up the noise and shower issue to the attendant the next day. She said some of the ceiling fans are "loud" and dismissed the shower shutting off as "unusual, never heard of that happening before". No AC either, and the only windows that open are very tiny. Otherwise.....everything else...
