Port Orford Sustainable Seafood — Local services in Port Orford

Four of us Ca fishermen were so blessed to stumble onto this spot in Port Orford after some clamming in Coos Bay. Actually a local pointed it out to us. We are fortunate to eat a lot of our own seafare which is always fresh and the Miso Black Cod dish that we were served was way beyond our expectations, so fresh and cooked perfectly, well seasoned. We shared amongst us (besides one friend who only eats McDonald fish filets)that this was one of the best seafood meals we had the pleasure of eating. If you are ever in the area it is a must stop! Small place and we sat outside, matter of fact I believe all they have is picnic bench seating. We can’t wait to get north to Oregon again and one reason will be to eat here...

Wow. Absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, buttery black cod bowl. You can't get any fresher than this. Black cod, rice, Asian slaw with a perfect dressing. I believe the black cod is a staple, sometimes they have skewers or other specialities. Limited to the summer months. One large picnic table to eat at outside or you could walk down to the beach. Local guy, stopped in to buy some salmon. Counter lady was very nice. But offered frozen king salmon at $40 a pound. I was not impressed with that price, as she said they were "stocked up" ,,,and the weekend previously they were selling whole fish at $12 a pound. Of course the sales pitch was, we gotta pay for processing, lights, storage etc... I'm not...
