Portland Value Inn — Hotel in Portland

It’s cheap for many reasons. However, this was worse than it had to be due to poor management.

Left early. I’ll have to process a refund thru my credit card company.

The most ridiculous experience. Babies being left to scream it out for hours. Kids running around. Adults having screaming matches. The crying from the room next door from literal children while it stinks like thick marijuana smoke. The manager allows people to pack into rooms like sardines. This MUST be illegal!!

I complained thinking things would get sorted or I’d get moved, but I was essentially told that this location was also being used as a family shelter housing houseless families. Entire families stuffed into a room with a double bed. Entire families cooking up diner food in one room. How dare I complain? I only stayed here on a cheap...

Worst hotel I've stayed at ever, and the price does not make up for it. Beds were full of cigarette burns, and the room smelled musty like it had been smoked in multiple times, despite the owners warnings about smoking outside only. The floors and bedframes were sticky, and each bed was only provided with 1 very thin sheet to sleep with. The tv did not work, and there was only 1 towel in the bathroom for 2 of us. Not to mention, the gate to leave the motel is closed from 11pm to 7am, and you can not leave or come in during those times, you will be trapped for the morning. All in all, the air conditioning was surprisingly good in the room and the mini fridge got very cold, even though the ant infestation prevented us from keeping food here, which is the only reason this hotel deserves 1 star...
