The amount of unprofessionalism and gaslighting coming from Daisy is truly appalling. Just like the other reviews stated, Daisy tried to lie and manipulate us and put the blame on us. There was a mix up with a room we booked. I was not the one who physically called to book but I was there with my mother while she did, a few months before our stay. So we know it was not on our end. Totally not a big deal if they overbooked or something, and they could have just said "I'm not sure how this mix up happened, but I apologize, let's see what we can do". Instead, Daisy avoided us during our stay, lied and said she wasn't a manager/owner, told us that we were the ones who booked the wrong room.
They switched us rooms because I had a (legitimate cardiac alert and response) service dog with me and wanted to put me in a pet friendly room. If you're not familiar with the ADA, it's illegal and the pet friendly room was more expensive as well, big no under the law. You cannot charge any sort of pet fees, or restrict a handler with a SD to a specific room for your convenience. Which at first we were also told we were getting charged their pet fee on top of the more expensive pet friendly room. Daisy said she was "extremely allergic" to dogs, but admitted to raising a litter of Lab mix puppies at her own freakin home next door! Allergies are also not a valid reason to deny a SD access. Being from Priest River, talk goes around and all of this is not shocking to me. All these people care about is breadcrumbing you for money and their business practices are sketchy in general. We talked to Sean after checking out to hopefully educate about federal law, as discrimination is a huge deal under the eyes of the law. Sean tried to say that because business owners may charge for damage from an animal, he "sees dog hair as damages" while we "may see a scratch on the door as damages", dog dander is apart of routine cleaning in hotel and lodging businesses, so another excuse to try and charge extra. Not really sure if he truly cared or was receptive. I would not recommend staying here even if you aren't disabled or require a SD. If you have any sort of accommodations/adjustments Daisy will lie and try to put the blame on you. Quite the nut case and horribly discriminatory behavior.
also wanted to add: if you look on Apple Maps at the booking . com reviews, the answers towards those who have left reviews are grossly passive aggressive. Once again just Daisy showing her...
Read more#1 loved the price, #2 loved how clean it was, #3 loved how quiet it was. Overall we had a great 2 night stay here. After driving 12+ hours it was so nice to have a friendly greeting, quick check in, and clean beds to sleep in. When we booked online we only booked for 1 night and requested the bunk/ queen room with the table, we got just what we asked for. We ended up staying another night and all we had to do was call the front desk to let them know. We were a little worried about staying in a "motel" but it was cleaner than some hotels we have stayed in. Because we stayed in the off season there was no breakfast but since we had the table, a mini fridge, and a microwave were ate just fine. The beds were comfortable, I especially liked that the queen mattress wasn't too soft, I like a really firm bed and sometimes hotel mattresses are way too soft. The room with the toilet and shower was large enough to maneuver showering and dressing two littles and still leaving room for someone to use the toilet. The shower was also large enough for one adult and two littles, and it was very clean, had lots of water pressure, and hot water came quickly. Our kids loved the bunk beds, they slept and played on them. We did notice a loose screw and a loose hex bolt on the top rail and ladder but our daughter was all over tightening them with her new Swiss army knife 😄 The mini fridge was not plugged in, we assume that is to conserve energy, but it didn't take long to be cool enough to use. Our only complaint is that it was too light at night, if the window had a blackout shade or another layer closer to the window it would have been significantly darker but thankfully we were tired enough both nights that it wasn't a huge problem, just made it a little more difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep. We would for sure stay here again and will recommend it to anyone...
Read moreThe lady at the front desk is pretty unabpe to understand laws. on explaining a service animal, LAW from the ADA.
My Dog is sole individual trained to warn a Posteral Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome issue when I'm standing, giving 1-2 minutes warning on an spike of 180 plus potential pass out incoming (prevents fainting and ER trips).
5 minute warn time on an anaphylaxic shock reaction from Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. Life SAVING!
I'm an advocate for this disease and outspoken.
My dog is NOT a Pet, my dogs not an emotional support animal. She's literally preventing death.
Its illegal to charge extra for medical equipment. I won't ever consider this hotel again. Never spoken to someone so unable to comprehend laws they are actively breaking.
I have, will be contacting the ADA and DoJ. After reading reviews, I realize the owner is responsible for both the discrimination and being unable to follow the laws governing this establishment. Screen shots of this problem and response of "you don't need to travel" taken to add to case.
I need to travel for my employment. I needed a hotel. I'm not "choosing to travel." Unlike the other person bullies on here PART of my employment is educating facilities like this hotel. I know proper channels and who to contact.
The owner of this establishment is not above the law. I should not have ended up sleeping in my van because of my life saving medical equipment.
I will add, at no point am I required to state what my service dog does. I do, because its part of my employment. I want it publically known, a. Cannot be charged, b. If there had been no pet rooms I could still legally be there in a non pet room. My dogs neither a joke or option to...
