I have been a regular customer here for over 10 years, but recently I went in for propane and had a young probably new cashier accidentally mess up the quantity and didn't charge me for the full amount. I didn't notice because I was buying other stuff at the same time. Someone from ace tried contacting me, but somehow had my parents number so I didn't get the message until after they had closed for the day, no big deal I was heading into town the next day and was planning to go to ace to get some stuff I needed anyway so I figured I would take care of it then. For context we are talking about less than a $20 mistake, should be no big deal. They called my parents 4 times in 24 hours and were talking about how the cashier was going to have to pay for the propane if I didn't come in and pay. This is absolutely ridiculous behavior for a company, I felt like I was being treated like I stole from them even though it was a simple mistake by a new employee. I am a regular customer who they know and a gold member of ace rewards, I spend a fair amount of money with them because I like supporting local businesses, but this experience has really turned me off, will probably end up driving to albeni or tractor supply for my hardware needs now.
Edit in response to the owners remark, my phone number is correct on my account, I have no idea how they came up with my parents number and not mine. Also calling and contacting me is one thing but harassing my parents 4 times within a 24 hour period is unacceptable and ridiculous. I have taken care of the issue already and with a tone def response like you just gave I will take my business elsewhere...
Read moreCouldn’t ask for a better class of employees, not only is everyone very knowledgeable but also VERY helpful! Those folks out there who complain about “employee lack of knowledge” most likely have never worked a day in customer service or something more difficult and VAST such as a hardware store. Therefore they have no idea the amount of information one must learn to work in a busisness like this.....and if they have worked in a business like this, then they are what we call “Mr. or Mrs. know it all”....and there is no convincing them other wise :-)....therefore we don’t need them...there’s a perfect little place known as Spokane....they will gladly...
Read moreNice small-town hardware store, crammed to capacity with every type of hardware item and supply that could possibly be needed by a homeowner. Where this ACE particularly shines, though, is the experience of the employees that come by quite often when just browsing, offering assistance for anything you might need. Every time I've needed advice, or assistance selecting what I REALLY should purchase for my current project, there's always been someone working that has the knowledge & historical intelligence to provide the...
