We always have a terrific time during our stay at the HHP. Our first stay was 2011 and we had our dog with us and needed a place to stay due to a reservation issue at another hotel-They answered the phone at 10 pm and had a room for us! Incredible place to stay with family and friends or a romantic getaway! The Hotel: The amenities are plenty and there isn't anything you need that they don't have at the desk or somewhere within the hotel. The beach across the street is just beautiful and a treasure trove for shell collectors and plenty of photo-ops! Go into to town for fabulous, 4 star dining on the water! World class entertainment within a rich, Provincetown history. Art Galleries, Theatre, and shopping without having to go to Europe, and the best part is that you can wear shorts and flip flops while doing it all! Too many places to recommend -just start at the top of Commercial Street and work your way through- you won't be disappointed Inside the Hotel: The Front desk staff is ALWAYS pleasant and ready to help you navigate the greatest area of the world-(this year we were greeted by Maurice-always so pleasant and helpful) Our maintenance around the pool was so minimal and didn't interfere with anyone at any time. Love hanging by the pool-the vibe with the melting pot of people is so chill! Everyone seems really happy whenever we are there hanging around on the lazy, hot Summer days. We are happy to see the added improvements to the property, and worth the $30 a day resort fee with the gorgeous firepits and plenty of chairs to sit at and lawn games ( but, also worried that it will price us out of future stays :) There is a wine and cheese at least one night while we were there and Yoga on Sunday mornings! The pool staff Bartender, Emilio makes some great drinks and keeps everyone always seems happy when he is at the pool-The poolside food by Rohan is great and great portions and selections! Martin on staff is also friendly and helpful with everything! He keeps his attention on all to make sure guests have chairs , umbrellas and here is a -TIP* please listen to him and NOT to bring in outside drink or food-its for the safety of all the guests that we follow the rules. (They should allow the coffee from the lobby in the pool area, tho) :) Always cleaning and straightening up with a smile and a wave. Everybody wants to go to place that recognizes guests and appreciates the business and Harbor Hotel Provincetown delivers. Looking forward to seeing you in the Fall and next Summer! Thanks for taking good care of everyone! ---A

Can't say I'm entirely thrilled. Been here since Monday. Rooms are renovated but you would think they would be in better shape for a recent renovation. Bed frames are chewed up and dirty. Not sure if reused from pre renovation days or if we are in a room that has had pets chewing on things. Regardless, rooms are acceptable and decent especially considering proximity to the sea. Housekeeping staff and renovation guys around us were all really nice and doing a good job so props to them.

The main issue we are having is with the pool area. We specifically booked this hotel for the pool and splash pad for our kiddos. On Monday we couldn't get any towels for the pool area. No one wanted to own this. Bar closed, no towels there. No fresh towels on towel rack like most resorts would have. Ask front desk - can't help. Random workers around resort - can't help. Some said yes they know about the laundry and towel issues. Can't find lounge chairs as place is pretty packed. Looks like people just knew to bring their own beach/pool towels as there are various types all over.

Next day - still no towels when pool open. Laundry girl not in yet according to front desk. They have no idea where towels are. Wife brings toddler to pool area later to calm her down while having a tantrum. Bartender yells at her in an unprofessional way as she had a 1/4 warm diet coke left over from the beach sticking out of a bag. Didn't know she couldn't bring it in. Happy not to but was not addressed in a professional way at all. Seating still very difficult to find. Finally get some towels from behind the bar though they seemed coveted and protective of them.

Today hanging out at the pool with my older daughter I am talking to various guests. Pool is completely packed. It seems like almost no one I am talking to is actually staying at this hotel. People I am talking to are renting down the street or downtown, but everyone states they know you can come to this hotel's pool for free.

So here I am unable to get towels, or seating/lounge chairs, and waiting 20 minutes for a drink at the cabana bar, and it turns out the reason is because the RESOURCES ARE BEING TAKEN UP BY PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT ACTUALLY GUESTS. Why wouldn't I just stay next door next year and walk over to use the pool? Their rooms are bigger and cheaper and I would still have pool access. Essentially this is what a good amount of people using the pool and associated resources are doing. Mentioned to front desk, they state yeah they are well aware but the new owners have not changed the rules for pool access and likely are not going to, and that yes everyone who resides in P town or rents here knows they can use this pool for free. So no towels, no chairs, long waits, packed pool that is hard to move in all because they let non guests into the pool area without scrutiny.

So would I recommend staying here? No. I would stay somewhere cheaper and come use this hotel's pool. Not worth paying almost $500 a night when I could spend much less and still come to use this pool and splash pad for free at the expense of paying guests. Fix these issues and I could easily...

OMG, oh my God I just I mean it’s a decent place but it’s definitely is terrible for $500 a day. Everybody at the pool is only paying 200 I talk to three separate people. I just feel like I got ripped off anyway the room has one sink for $500 a day. Anyway, the water didn’t go down the sink is clogged, I had to call maintenance within a half a day not even a stay in here. Location is awesome it’s on the Bayside but for $500 a day. I’ll tell you right now it’s not worth it 200. Yes I will keep you posted it’s only day one. in response to the owner responding to me I booked the room a month and a half before and people that were at the pool actually booked it a little bit after me so all of that gobbling book about what could happen when booking timing I understand all that I just don’t understand why a room with one sink and two beds not even a table nothing special $50-$100 room off-season would cost me over 500 a night, also when maintenance came to fix the clog in my sink, the stopper was broken and he told me he couldn’t fix the stopper. He came with a wire hanger and I told him to leave the wire hanger because it’s gonna get clogged again also the vent in the bathroom was never wiped at all, and actually smelled been there. I have pictures where I tried to wipe it a little bit with the tissue , nobody wipe them in decades. The towels are like sandpaper against your skin. Also, the tram that you take that they advertise is free into town only starts at 3 o’clock. They only one run one at a time and it fits five people only there were lots of people waiting for the tram that could not get on and had to wait at least a half hour for the tram to come back. Also it rain two days while I was there. The tram was not running at all, get into the 21st-century most trams have plastic and zippers around them for it , bad weather I will never ever ever ever again stay here I stayed at other hotels in this immediate area that blow this out of the water also I got there early around 12 o’clock went into lobby. There was an older gentleman that whispered to us. He would get us in early check-in was four so we went to the pool. He never called our phone. We finally left a pool at 4:30 and that’s how I found out. Everybody was paying $200 or less per night and they booked around the same time I did anyway my point is the man told us he can get us in early waited for a phone call which he told us he would give us they never came, we ended up getting into the room at 4:30. Anyway I know this soul is besides the point very very very disappointing in this place in the price. Like I said, there were many other places a lot less and the rooms are much much more beautiful than this never ever ever ever ever...

The positives at this hotel are the outdoor amenities and location. Its super close to Commercial Street and the beach across the street was beautiful. The outdoor pool, firepits and other amenities were great and were the main reason we picked this hotel. However, customer service was severely lacking.

We booked our room for 2 nights for 4 people. They only left 3 towels in our room. 3 of us used our towels and housekeeping came in and took the used towels without replacing them. We went to the front desk to request 4 towels and mentioned we had only been given 3 to start despite the reservation being for 4. The woman at the counter proceeded to tell me that my reservation was for 3, then asked me the room number and realized it in fact was for 4 and didn't apologize for her mistake. The insinuation that we lied about the number of people we had was very off putting.

We walked into the pool area with bottles of water and the man in the cabana started screaming to let us know they weren't allowed in or we had to dump them out. He then proceeded to give my sister an attitude when she requested 4 towels (one for each of us). After we sat down, we noticed other people come in and pull their own water bottles (and snacks) out of their bags and nothing was said to them so it felt like we had been singled out (we watched a group of people pass around a family size bag of doritos with zero issue). We intended to stay in the pool area for the afternoon and order lunch & drinks, but this whole situation left us feeling uncomfortable so we didn't stay very long.

Being given a hard time about both bath towels and pool towels is ridiculous given the amount of money these rooms cost. I have no problem paying for extra things like food and drinks down at the pool, but being treated like a thief left me not wanting to give this hotel or its staff any more of my money.

In addition to the poor customer service we had some issues with our room. The bathroom door was extremely difficult to open and close, the shower dripped constantly after turning it off, the light next to the bed wouldn't turn on and the TV didn't work. The small table in the room had something sticky on it, the baseboard and underneath the beds were dirty and the entire back of the shower wall wasn't grouted (and someone stuck cardboard between the tiles which was weird). The people above us had a dog who barked constantly anytime they left the room. Besides the issue with the towels, we also were not given any extra toilet paper and had to request more rolls.

Given all of the issues we had, we likely will not be repeat customers. Its really unfortunate since the location is great and outdoor amenities...
