The managers or innkeepers or whatever are very rude and discriminatory. They’ll make any excuse to bother you, charge you $8 for a hand towel that gets stained (yeah, there’s a deposit, but when people stay for an extended period of time and they have to actually go up and ask you for clean towels every few days, there’s likely to be a stain on a hand towel. But eight dollars?) and try and start problems wherever they can. ||||My family and I had to stay there for two months waiting on an apartment. We spent 2500 in ten weeks on a tiny room with two beds, a mini fridge that hardly worked, a keurig that didn’t work at all, a sink that leaked, didn’t drain, and would have nasty stuff come out of the drain itself, floor registers that don’t work but are uncovered and rusty (my two year old cut his feet open on them twice) and mold literally all over the bathroom. I bought my own bleach spray and sponges to clean the mold myself and the innkeeper pretty much said “well all the rooms are like that”. Oh, and if you’d like to sleep in at all, or you have kids that do, don’t bother. They’ll start plowing or scraping dirt off the parking lot at 6 or 7am, about 6 feet from your window. But let’s get to the best part!||||This is a business owned by Dick Dyke (Windham Weaponry, Naples Golf & Country Club, etc). Teri and Dave are the innkeepers or property managers or whatever, who are paid to live on property. They have their family living with them and a couple dogs. The office hours say open until 9pm. But don’t bother asking for anything between 8pm and 9pm or you will get a nasty response, if not ignored completely. ||||I have a service dog who stayed with a friend, because my family and I did not expect to have to stay at this.... less than adequate place for as long as we had to, and figured it would be two weeks or so and that my dog would be comfortable with people he knows, who worked with him on training. Well, this place is advertised as pet friendly. In fact, there were dogs in almost every room. So at the beginning of March, I let Teri know that my dog could not be “babysat” any longer and that I’d need to bring him back with me. I also expressly stated that he is my service animal. I sent her a message. She ignored it. The next day I sent her a message asking if she had time to discuss. I am aware I did not have to do this, but thought it appropriate and a cordial thing to do. I explained his training and my disability. Also trying to be nice, but not obligated. ||||She came by in the morning to tell me that a box of frozen waffles outside my door on a bench (my son was teething) could not be there because they had “rats and raccoons”. Then proceeded to tell me that I was not allowed to have my service animal because of “fire code/occupancy” and because the room was too small to hold two adults, a toddler and a service animal. This room has to full size/queen size beds. Generally meaning they sleep up to four people. I asked if another room would be suitable. She said all rooms were the same and that it would make no difference. So she refused to even change rooms. I told her I would speak with my friend and let her know what I found out. Later that day I let her know that I’d have to bring him there as I would not lose my service animal because of “fire code” or occupancy. I also spoke my my attorney who said that this was a violation of federal law and these “codes” do not apply to service animals. ||||She just said “no dogs allowed”. I told her that it was illegal to refuse a service animal and that we had stayed there for weeks without issue. She proceeded to call my husband and lie to him, saying that I told her I intended to buy a new puppy and bring it to the room without her knowledge. ||||After about two weeks, I did bring my service dog back home with me, which I informed her of. On the 26th, she and her husband Dave came outside while my husband and I and our dog were outside speaking with a family member who had stopped by. She began yelling at me, telling me that I was not allowed to have my dog and that I was to “get my dog and get the F off her property” and that she would be calling Dykes lawyers because “he backs us up in anything we do” and also calling the police. She continued yelling at me, as did her husband for about ten minutes, in the parking lot, in front of other guests. And then called the sheriffs to have me “forcibly removed”. She also called the police on our family member and lied to them, saying he was causing a disturbance by sitting in his car and speaking quietly with us. Even though they had previously requested and received his help with plowing, mechanical issues, etc. ||||When the sheriff arrived, I spoke with him and he let me know that the managers could not remove me from the property for a service dog. But that Teri told him “the room wasn’t designated for pets and I had not payed a pet deposit according to the managers” (both of which I chose to comply with even though legally my animal is exempt, but Teri refused). She then told us that she would not rent to us after that Saturday (3 days later), although we had been there for ten weeks. ||||Before check out I asked her several times for receipts, to which she refused and responded rudely. Then when checking out, gave them to my husband and admitted to him that the reason they were making us leave was because of my service dog, and that had we “just asked about another room or told them ahead of time, they’d have had no issue. They hoped there would be no hard feelings.” They also stated that “they could have had me forcibly removed that day but chose not to” contrary to what I was told my the sheriff. I have all of this recorded because they are going to be speaking with lawyers about discrimination and interference with a service animal so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else. ||||Now we are on the street with a two year old. We did not stay at the White Pines Inn because it was enjoyable, nice, or cheap. But because it was the only place available, and we fell on hard times. They took advantage of this fact and had the audacity to ask if we had found a place to rent in the 3 days we had. Those to have some audacity. I truly hope the business owner sees this and speaks with them about federal and state laws about service animals and discrimination, because he isn’t liable to lose his business or the license because of issues like this. ||||I would never recommend this place to anyone. Everyone there is miserable because of the managers crappy attitudes and general bossiness. It’s ignorant in general, but their actions and discrimination have caused a serious traumatic life event for my child and based on that alone, they should never have the ability to mistreat anyone and put them in the same position again. And maybe they’ll change their nasty...

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. My boyfriend and I stayed one night, just to get away, it was pretty crappy. The cable didn't work, as much as we tried to figure it out, it was just static on the screen. We brought a laptop, and tried to watch movies on that, but the wifi wasn't strong enough. By that point I was pretty disappointed because being home was better than being there. So we drove to rent some movies, and brought them back to the hotel so we would have at least something to do because the room was already paid for. My boyfriend has seizures and is prescribed medical marijuana (pot is legal in Maine anyways) he smoked outside in the designated smoking area, which is right outside of the room, and after we got home, the owner freaked out, and very rudely said we would be charged for smoking pot inside the room. We definitely did NOT smoke inside and respected all rules. Now I'm stressed out and wish I hadn't even gone. Staying home would have saved me $130 and all the trouble of being there, plus I would have had cable and internet. If she charges me, I will be taking...

My family and I were in transition from house to house and we called prior to going in. We walked through the door and this angry lady walked through a dog gate slammed it shut and was extremely rude!! She has never rented a room to either of us before and was questioning us about staying there before and just being so rude!! There were Andy candys in a glass dish on the counter and life savers so my son asked for one and I gave him one and my husband ate one and this lady lost it started yelling saying they ate the whole bowl and she could not believe it. This lady was off her rocker! She sits there and talks to her self!! Her house is attached to this motel and all the rooms. That was our experience there and we did not even get to the part were we look at a room!! Not kid friendly at all if your kid likes candy because apparently the candys in the bowl on the check in desk are not to be touched so watch out !! I think She's a hudge hot head and is completely crazy Do...
