This was our 2nd time staying. Last time we had a ground floor room for 1 night. This time we got a suite style room for 3 nights and could have stayed longer; with a small lounge and a larger bathroom, on the upper level, with bedroom window out the back of mountains and city which we greatly appreciated. This time our stay was even more comfortable than our previous stay. It was also cold in LA this time, and we needed to use the heater, which worked well (albeit a bit noisy when sleeping). There is a good amount of hanging space & hangers. We appreciated the the lounge/ sofa seating. The size of the bathroom with bath and shower feature, and great hot water pressure. A good supply of toilet roll and conditioning shampoo / soap was provided. There is also a convenient coin laundry facility. the Owner is friendly, kind and professional. Our flight was late arriving, & he offered to help us find parking if none were available on the property by the time we got there, which was comforting as we were very tired and jetlagged. The wifi worked really well too. The bed was a good size and super comfortable and clean. The room was clean, and maintained every day by housekeeping, with fresh towels. We loved the location as it is centrally located to everywhere we needed to drive to in LA, and only about 15-20 minutes to LAX airport with lots of options for food, drink, dining within walking distance. We like staying in Redondo / Manhattan beach area as it feels safer, clean. Would definitely stay again as it is now our go-to in LA. The area is not too loud, and the room was facing the back of the property, so we slept well. Improvements · Our stay was great, so minor improvements -- the heater/AC was a little noisy. The property has limited parking to the amount of rooms available, but there is street parking. would prefer wooden floor vs carpet - again very minor.

Please note that I have left a previous review and this is a change to my previous review. My family and I have been staying at the establishment for over 20 years. The place was purchased from the previous family. Since the purchase things have gone down hill. The night I came they gave me the key to someone else’s room. I walked in and they were asleep and I startled them. It was horrible. They then gave me a room where the window had no lock. I put a coat hanger up to keep my window closed. I did not feel secure. The doors have no internal lock. I put my suitcase up against the door for good measure. On my final day I had an aggressive angry yelling owner chasing after me telling me that my service dog left hair in the bed. He is clearly unaware that I am covered by the Americans with disabilities act. This service dog had stayed here for 13 years. We lived here for a period of time when I was studying to get into Med school. This was under the previous owner. What a terrible disappointment. We will not be coming back and I suggest you do not either. The quality is changed. Further more, the owner is emotionally labile and frankly, I feel threatened and scared of him.

We really liked the Room, it was clean, nice odor, the kitchen is super ready for cooking a nice small/medium sized meal. Cabinets are full with goodies, pans, pots, spatulas, silverware, coffee cups, glasses, pretty much everything, even a blender. The Bathroom was super CLEAN and in great condition. The Staff was friendly, and the location is great, few minutes from the beach and the $$$$ is not bad for night. Yes, we recommend it.

I have stayed here many times over the years and every visit is always better then the last. I've seen this place come a long way and blossom into a popular and respectable establishment that is kept up to date with newly remodeled rooms and a over all modern look. Kay is very friendly and very helpful. During my last stay he made sure to inform me about the parking lot (which can get full on busy nights). And he also let me know about alternative parking on artesia, and even made sure to let me know about street sweeping times (something I would never have thought of) and other close by parking options to avoid getting a ticket. Kay can usually be found on the promises during the day maintaining order and also keeps the place quiet at night for those of us who enjoy a nice quiet rest. There is no smoking in the rooms so none of the rooms have that stale smoke smell. Smokers can use the southern section of the parking lot closer to the sidewalk to light up. (Being a smoker myself, this was not a problem at all) make sure to put your cigarette butts in one of the many stand up ashtray doo-dads instead of just throwing them on the ground. Would...
