The Baseline: For a bakery the bread has to be crusty, dough-rific goodness, great accompaniments per the bakery’s theme, and good coffee/drinks.
September 2025 Review:
Food: For my September 21st 2025 visit I got a loaf of Rosemary Garlic Country, Almond Croissants, daily sandwich, and a latte. The Rosemary Garlic Country loaf bread was great with large garlic chunks mixed into the dough to make an amazing bread. The latte was well made with a very ornate foam design. The almond croissant was sweet and layered with flavor. This is truly one of my top ten favorite bakeries in life.
Service: Great, fast, efficient service from staff and I really appreciate the foam design extra touch on my latte.
Ambiance: There is a great communal feel to the ambiance in the bakery from the staff to the patrons.
August 2025 Review: Food: The bread is gooooooood! The sourdough is well made with the nice crustiness and yeasty air pockets. We had a a BLT sandwich, bacon cheese scone, and a potato tart. All items were delicious and had fresh ingredients. The coffee was exceptional and had a good roast.
Service: Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They cut my sandwiches, modified my coffee, and gave great suggestions.
Ambiance: The bakery has a nice communal table and individual table seating. The bathrooms were clean and parking was easy. There is also outdoor seating available for nice weather days.
Updated Review:
Had a great experience at Tommy and Atticus.
Food: Awesome sandwich today on a baguette with multiple meats and veg. The chocolate croissant was sweet and flakey. Two coffee drinks: Flat white and drip. Both got me caffeinated and happy. I also bought a sourdough loaf.
Service: Great service getting me my items quick and super friendly. Makes me want to come back more.
Ambiance: I love the feel of Tommy and Atticus as it shows off its love of being a bakery. It was a little loud inside so we took advantage of the outdoor seating until we got too cold.

Read moreThe South Bay just got THAT much better with the opening of Tommy & Atticus!!
This small business is run by Garrett (a former baker at Gjusta in Venice), his lovely wife (Lauren), along with an awesome team of bakers and coffee makers!
Garrett has been selling at local farmers markets for quite some time, which is where I met him and first tried his pastries and bread. I was immediately hooked, and returned on a near weekly basis for their cheddar jalapeño sourdough loaf, their brownies, their almond croissant, and their seasonal pastries.
I have been anticipating the opening of their brick and mortar store for over one year now. They opened earlier this month (July 2023) and are absolutely crushing it. You can feel the passion of their team when you walk through the front door. Everyone is excited to be working there, and excited to have you as a customer. Honestly, you could be on the worlds strictest diet, allergic to gluten and sugar, and come here simply for a mood boost!!
Their in-store products are just like the ones they sell at the farmer’s markets: fresh, flaky, and flavorful! They regularly have a line at the cash register and sometimes out the door. I went at 12pm on a weekday and while they still had all of their pastries, they were sold out of many popular breads (cheddar jalapeño, rosemary). If you want a fresh loaf of bread, I would recommend going before 9am.
During my last visit, I saw that they are now offering weekly sandwich specials…yum! I also heard a rumor that they will be selling pizza dough and woodfired pizza.
I look forward to supporting this small local business, and encourage you to...
Read moreI saw a reel on Tommy and Atticus on IG, and decided to give it a try. I love lox bagels, and the image of their version... looked so yummy! My wife and I pulled up to a line of customers outside the entrance to a busy local. Okay good, right? Well yes and maybe no. Good that you would think that everything that is freshly made on sight has to be great. But to our surprise the only thing in bulk leftover were pre made sandwiches on freshly made bread and some cookies, croissants, and scones. Okay, so we opted for scones and their giant chocolate chip cookie. Because they only sell bagel sandwiches until 10:30am, and we were seen after 11am. So whatever bagels were remaining were open to buy with shmear. So I didn't want to just buy a bagel because it was just staring at me! But I almost wish I had. The scone wasn't entirely sweet, but the few specks of sugar dusted on top didn't help. The blueberries gave of course a pop of freshness. But the scone was a bit dense. The giant cookie had a burnt aftertaste, and unfortunately 😑 it didn't have any real sweet taste to it. Because all I could taste on my palette was a burnt taste from the bottom of the cookie.
So I want to give this place another try, when I can get there early enough to taste the everything lox bagel 🥯. ...
