First, I will say the good things, the positive ones. It’s a nice and quiet place; good pool; SPA tub; free WIFI; TV, pet friendly; microwave; refrigerator; complementary coffee in the morning, nice room, during the day, before 5:00 pm, nice and friendly staff, that’s all. Excellent City, it’s a must, you must visit Rincon. You will love it. “”But”” if you decide to visit the Lazy Parrot Inn, use the route 413 to the left side of the road, where you will have an excellent view of the beach. The awful ones: This is being honest with the visitors, things I am sure, they could improve, or at least work with it in a short terms goal. After 5:00 pm, no staff is available for service; their internet site say they have restaurants, it’s a lie. NO restaurants, no food at any hour, not even,… at least a vending machines for water, drinks or food, obsolutely nothing, not even something close to eat. If you want to eat, you must leave the place, by car, not even walking distance. No service phone in the room. After 5:00 pm, you call their emergency number, nobody answers. If you want ice, it needs to be requested before 5:00 pm, and you must wait till somebody come with the keys. We got to this place at 6:00 pm, in the middle of a rain. No parking at the property, the parking is at the other side of the road, in a muddy downhill lot, risking your life, with your luggage in the muddy downhill lot and when crossing the road. They text us that the key will be in a safe box at the entrance of the property, they send us the access code. We had to walk up and down different slippery stairs thru the garden in the middle of the rain, to get to our room,… unacceptable. We stay three days, just went to sleep, since the property didn’t had nothing else to offer, this place is over price. But YES.. we enjoy the City of Rincon. If you ask me if I will stay here again… I don’t thing so. We visit several small hotels, Inn, in the area that are much, much, much better and less, less expensive, and they YES have restaurants, and guest service until late hours, and a thousand time excellent ocean view… it’s a must to see the sunset. PLEASE read the reviews before booking, which I failed with this one. I just to say the administration, that don’t take your time in giving apologies or excuses, just work with this opportunity. Excuses only satisfies the ones you give it, not the person who receives it, and please don’t take me wrong, I just want the...
Read moreMy son and I are surfers and Rincon is a world class surfing mecca. Back in 2010, we were planning a surfing vacation and my wife booked a room for us (my son and me) at the Lazy Parrot Inn. Excellent choice!! On our first visit, we stayed in the "original section" of the Inn and it was great. The following year we stayed in the newer section and again, that was nice too. Year three, we elected to stay in the "original section" again but chose a room on the second floor with a big deck next to our room. That worked out for us because we could leave our boards on the spacious deck. The years after that, we elected to stay in the same room. Our "surfing home away from home". My wife never joined us on these trips. It was a Dad and Son vacation. We surfed. We ate. We slept. We chilled. Ditto all week! Our son is now married and although we still get together for lots of other good things, Rincon is o the back burner for the moment. This year, my wife wanted to tour Puerto Rico and visit Rincon and the Lazy Parrot. This would be her first time visiting the island. We spent a few days around San Juan and then headed to Rincon and the Lazy Parrot. One of the nicest memories of the L P was meeting Jahby and Sam. Jahby was the office manager when we first visited the L P and Sam, her husband ,was in charge of maintenance. To our delight, Jahby and Sam are still there!! What a sweet surprise. Jahby recognized my name when I made the reservation and made it a point to book us in the same room where my son and I stayed for all those years. It was so very special to share those sweet memories with my wife. Although we didn't go surfing, we certainly enjoyed that beautiful deck that evening under the stars, listening to the music of the Coqui frogs. It was perfect! The following morning we were able to spend time with Jahby and Sam and catch up on "life". It was great. One other note, the new owners have really done an amazing job with the L P. It was always a special Inn but now it is really pretty. Well done! We plan to return to Rincon and the L P as a "foursome". Mom, Dad. Son and Daughter-in-law........with surfboards in tow! Thank you again, Jahby and Sam. You...
Read moreWe checked into a fairly vacant Lazy Parrot 2 weeks ago. I was nice and quiet with just a few guests. In fact, we only saw 3 other couples the 2 days we were there! Not sure why as April is shouldering peak season in Puerto Rico. That said, it was nice to have peace and quiet while relaxing in the pool which we had to ourselves for 2 days! On the down side, there was little to no staff. The bar remained closed the entire time. MINUS ONE STAR||We did enjoy the Thai restaurant one evening! The food was really delicious. We had the Pad Thai with shrimp, the spicy papaya salad and chicken curry. Highly recommend this place as a lot of locals were in. This was the one time we did see a lot of people. ADD A STAR||The room was nice and had a nice enclosed outdoor patio where we could hang out and dry our clothes after a day at the beach. The beds were comfortable although VERY high! |ADD ONE STAR||The resort grounds were very well maintained and I enjoyed strolling around taking pictures of the property and all the pretty flowers! Definitely a pretty place. Loved the lookout area that also served at the Thai restaurant. ADD ONE STAR||No other food was available for breakfast or lunch but they did have a nice coffee station with many choices of flavors syrups and creamers/milks and teas! ADD ONE STAR||They also had a game room for the kids to enjoy. There were also many large iguanas roaming the property where our room was. It was fun sitting outside our door watching them climb the trees!||Parking was on a very steep hill across from the Inn. Be careful to attend to your rolling suitcases as we almost had one roll down the hill! Haha||Overall the Lazy Parrot was a nice place to stay. Just wish they had staffed the bar! As for breakfast and lunch there are 2 excellent places...
