I usually don't review motels because they're generally the same with almost any decent one. And for the most part, I expected the same from Walmut Inn here in Roland, OK. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfy, the air was not stuffy, the service was good, BUT, where they stand out is their SHOWER!
Their shower is the best for a couple of reasons; Pressure - their showers are basically low key pressure washers Temperature - turn the knob as hot as you like till you burn yourself! Flow rate - flow rate is adequate to put out a house fire (I know, I'm a fire protection engineer) These factors combined, the hot water still doesn't run out. I mean, I know it's not surprising to have continual hot water when the water is a peepee size stream and you're having to work your knees just to get full coverage, but when it's a straight up automatic deluge, that's something to be impressed with. It was a steam tharepy with hydro massage on the scalp, neck and shoulders that is worth the cost of a night stay itself. By the time the shower was done, I was ready to climb back into the bed again for another good night's sleep. The showers basically peeled 25-years of dirt grime and Grease off of me that I never new existed. I think I lost couple pounds and look a couple years younger too. Highly recommend even if it's just for...
Read moreWe arrived turned on the aircondioning left for about an hour got back and smelled cat urine. The front desk attendant came and smelled it too, so she gave us another room and said there has never been animals in it. We turned on the air and left for another half hour to let I cool down. Came back and smelled urine again only not as strong so we tried to ignore it but the smell just got worse over the next hour. I tried to explain to the attendant I have asthma and I couldn’t tolerate it and needed another room she said no. Also the very old air conditioner that should have been replaced in the Reno was very loud. Between the smell and the loudness of the air conditioner we left at 10:00 pm. This motel was renovated but I suspect that the replacement of the carpet with new flooring the issues of urine soaked into the concrete was...
Read moreI have one star for the fact that the front desk clerk was friendly and found us two rooms next to each other. However, it was the dirtiest and most unsanitary motel I have ever seen. There was what appeared to be blood on mattresses in both rooms as well as something blood or similar on sheets on a different bed. There were toenails on the floor, hairs in the bathroom, stains on the carpet, holes in the bedding, dirty showers, beeping smoke detector (but front desk closed from 12-8 so couldn’t get help), rooms smelled unpleasant, fridge was not on, knob was missing from the a/c/heating unit, knob missing on bathroom heater, floors were very dirty, mattresses were dirty and there was a footprint on the comforter of one bed, and there was coffee but no coffee maker. The ice...
